Local cafe with great food and service. How can you not love a place where the whole kitchen sings when “Sweet Caroline” comes on the radio? The atmosphere was amazing. My companion got the special, it was the Jalapeño Cheddar Sausage bowl, highly recommended. We’ll definitely return.

Searched for a good breakfast spot before leaving Hickory. Decided on Hart & Soul and was NOT disappointed! Friendly place and relaxed atmosphere! Interesting decor but on point! While we were there four people spoke to us:Greeter/Hostess, Server 1, server 2 and server 3. Food came out quickly, was hot and looked and smelled great! House fav crusty French toast and House fav Mexi-Omelette were two good choices. I’m certain all selections would be good too! Great way to start any day!

This is by far my FAVORITE PLACE to have breakfast. I LOOOVVVEEE the daily specials and they are soooo good. Hands down the most friendliest staff I have ever encountered. Between the excellent food and excellent service they will continue to see me many many times. If you are in the area, you have to check them out. I promise you, you won't be disappointed.

This promise of soul food was a flop. The fast food style Mac & cheese from a bag, alone was enough to make me not go back. The owner's sister is pretty miserable and she sealed the deal. If you are looking for southern hospitality and soul food, look elsewhere.

Not bust at all early on a Sunday morning. Almost traditional Benedict with a special old bay like dusting, and they provided a steak knife without being asked, so I knew that they knew what they were doing. A lot of places just give you a regular, non-serrated knife. My coffee cup was never empty. Will definitely be trying some other items in the future.

Food is usually good. Today was not. The Cali chicken wrap barely had any meat. Always cold. I noticed thermostat was set at 67. Little too chilly for your customers to be happy! I noticed all of the customers were wearing their coats. There's a message there. I do like the vibe of this place and it's close to my work but.... I'll give it one more try.

We got coffee and orange juice, put our order in…and that’s all we were able to have. After over 45 minutes, 3 to-go orders made and picked up, 3 people sitting at the breakfast bar after we put our order in already ordered and ate their food, we asked for our check. Only then the waitress asked about our food order. I understand being short staffed, just communication goes a long way. Also when they have a crowd at the door, if you’re a newcomer, watch out for the step.

Came to town to visit the Catawba Science Center and chose this restaurant to start off the day with my daughter. I had the berry topped french toast with easily the best livermush I have ever had. We had some time to kill and Miss Logan gave us some great family friendly advice on things to do in town while we waited. Will certainly go here again!!!

This place is really nice. Service was good. Very clean. I got the meat lovers omelette and is was delicious. My wife ordered eggs and a waffle. Her eggs were undercooked. Overall it is a good place for breakfast. I will be back.

Open for breakfast or lunch. I like the lunch specials...they have 2 every day. I had the grilled chicken salad with feta and strawberries today..Wait staff is pleasant and prices are reasonable. Watch your step when you enter because there is a short step down. I haven't tried the onion rings but have heard that they're very good.

This place is absolutely wonderful. The decor, food, and service were top notch, and the presentation of the food as well as its taste are out of the park! My wife and I had the House French Toast, which came with a sweet crust on it, and the Mexi Omelet, a zesty food lover's dream that they fluffed immaculately. The potatoes were perfectly fried and they weren't afraid to season them, which bolstered their deliciousness! I have nothing critical to say of this place at all and we'll definitely be back when we're around the area!

Was in town for a seminar and came here for breakfast. Loved it! Serves a good variety of your standard breakfast options and then some - daily specials offered some variety like the pumpkin spice french toast. Great prices for the amount you get. Cosy local atmosphere and service was both friendly and on point. Wish this place was closer but will be back again when I'm in town.

Clean and nice looking dining room and friendly staff. Food took almost an hour to get served which is not acceptable. Portions are tiny compared to pricing and the bill shows two different surcharge amounts for credit card purchases-2.94% and 3%. I understand the surcharge but displaying two different amounts is confusing. I’ll go back to House of Omelettes where the portions are huge and the food comes out quick.

If you are ever in Hickory you have to come to this cafe!! The sweetest people and the best food by a mile! Their shrimp and grits for breakfast is to die for!! Update: went back the next day and had their Special of Crab & Bacon Tacos. OMG! They were also just as great and the service was just as great! I would go earlier in their service time, as we did have a slight wait to get in when we got here on Day 2 about 10:45.

I called in a order at 6:47 this morning. Ordered a Cali omelette, Picked up at 7:20. What I got really made my head shake in disbelief. I don't know how they can knowingly serve this.I was the only one there, it's egregious and unacceptable to have burned to a crisp home fries!!

The only thing saving this review was the waitress, Cheryl. We came in on a Sunday with our family of 7. My husband ordered a fajita omelette with no cheese because he is lactose intolerant. When the food came out, my husband’s omelette had cheese on it and when the server brought it to the cook’s attention, she looked at our group and screamed, “Really, cheese? He can’t just eat it??” Come to find out, she is the owner of the restaurant. For that alone, we will not be back. The food was mediocre and the service was good but the insensitivity of a food intolerance from a chef, let alone the owner of a restaurant is not acceptable.

The cafe was very cute, great atmosphere. it was cozy and has a sense of nostalgia, even down to the placemat and fresh flowers on the table. The service was outstanding. Cheryl, my server was very kind, genuine, and attentive. And the breakfast sandwich (I chose a biscuit with liver mush and egg) was fantastic. The sandwich I had reminded me of good old home cooked southern breakfast just like grandma made, maybe even better (but don’t tell my grandma I said that)Overall, it was a great meal at a fair price with outstanding service. I will absolutely be returning!

Quite possibly the friendliest and most cheerful waitress I've experienced in Hickory. While it looks like a diner, booths along the wall, counter with stools when you walk in, etc. the food is a cut or two above standard diner fare. My wife said the french toast was the best she's had and my chorizo scrambled egg burrito was creative, presented beautifully and tasted fantastic.

Breakfast is great, both times we’ve come here we’ve gotten the same server and she is missing the hart and soul completely. Very monotoned, didn’t introduce herself, took forever to grab condiments and things the table needed. I understand if it’s busy but as a former server, you still need to be polite to your guests.

Until today, service & food has been great. Today, the waitress with short grey hair did not fit the Heart & Soul profile of excellent customer service. My order was wrong. Instead of correcting the order or discussing options, I was READ the order as she wrote it & told this is what I had ordered. Her mannerisms & speech were belittling as though I was incompetent to place an order.

I've already given this wonderful little place 5 stars a couple months ago, but had to come back and do it again. Like my last visit, the staff is very friendly! Superb!! The food was awesome, loved every bite. I left there so full!! Thank you!!!

If you go on a weekend be prepared to wait for a while. Food was ok probably not the best breakfast I have had but it wasn’t awful. Parking is small and limited for bigger vehicles. Staff was nice and courteous. Prices are reasonable as well.

Waitress was friendly. But I don't think the cook knows what a hot breakfast is. Some the party got warm food. Others got cold food. Biscuits a big disappointment.. they grill them to heat them I can't recommend the place. I ordered eggs over medium. I got one over cooked and one under cooked I ask for lightly crispy bacon. It was close to burnt. I left most my food on my plate. My husband is a big eater. He left over half his food We will never go back

Always delicious with new off menu specials daily. I have yet to try something I didn't love. This week it was the Monte Christo 😋

I had the Heart and Soul French toast with eggs and sausage. The French toast had a hint of cinnamon- with berries on top. It was fantastic. I recommend you give it a try. My husband had an omelette which was amazing. The service was great - friendly and fast !

I work nights so I don't get to eat here often. Yesterday I was able to order breakfast to go. My omelette and home fries were delicious. The server packed in condiments for me. Food was fresh and hot, all under $10. Service is always great when you eat inside as well. If you get the shrimp and grits, pay the extra for collard greens to go with it, absolutely delicious! 😁
