Extremely warm, friendly and accommodating staff, cracking breakfast & a lovely room for the price. Situated perfectly for a visit to Buxton and for local walks. The only thing that could mark it down is the quality of road leading up to the hotel itself.

A lovely campsite and just outside Buxton. There's a cafe on site, though it was closed during my stay. A play area for the children and lots of space. I pitched up in the woods and enjoyed the quiet. The toilet and shower block was adequate, though lacking in space and it's the first time I've had to pay extra to use the shower in a long time. That said the water was nice and hot. The owner was most helpful and very polite

We had to spend a night between cycling and hiking. And we found this family-run BB for £78 for two—myself and my son. The place is simple and perfect for a short stay and comfortable with all the necessary amenities though the internet is weak. There was no dinner, but the owner kindly gave us a list of local pubs. In the morning, we joined other guests for an English breakfast, which was just as good as any homemade breakfast. There was a choice between cold selection a hot. I am fussy about coffee and only drink ground one. The coffee that was served was just perfect. It is a bit harder to find. Look for an A3 board with the name near a narrow country lane.

Liked: Toilets lovely clean and warm, very welcoming and leave you to get on with. Due to a break down n road closures got there approx 9pm but allowed us to do a basic set up. Pitches were big and allowed space between set ups but limited for bigger rigs due to trees. Local farmer on hand with small tractor to pull stuck cars/vans and 4×4 out. Disliked: I understand that owners can not control the weather however i do feel that gravel tracks and paths instead of dirt/mud tracks may help with cars even 4×4 getting stuck and will help people get to and from toilets. Road leading to site could do with repairing also. Better signage for drinking water and elsen point. Do require to pay for showers however i feel due to the storm and muddy pitches this could of been revised with weather taken into account. Factory noise can be heard as you are close to an industrial site, you are advised when booking you have to drive through the industrial site but not that you can hear it. You do hear planes on their way to east mids airport you seem to be under a flight path but thus noise does stop about midnight.

I should start off by saying I am not what you'd call "easy going", the slightest thing can ruin an experience for me (sad but it's the way I'm wired) so I was a bit worried about coming camping after reading some reviews... And I am pleased that I ignored my judgement and went anyway. I cannot imagine how anyone can find fault here, we were treated like royalty from the second we arrived, the owner was very accommodating and helpful. Upon arrival we realised our hook up was too short, within 15 minutes, the owner had sourced an extension for us and had us up and running, he even came back later to make sure it was all working. We went to him a couple of times with requests that he didn't need to help with but he did and always, always went above and beyond to help us. We camped over bank holiday weekend, with only 2 toilets each side I was a bit worried but at no point did I have to wait to use the facilities. The toilet block is a big, sturdy cabin, it was always clean, warm, dry and fully stocked with toilet roll/soap. Yes, you do have to pay for showers but that is made clear in the booking. The wooded campsite is beautiful, a really lovely place to spend some quiet time with the family. There is an industrial estate nearby but its not a constant noise, we heard it maybe 2 or 3 times a day for a 10 minute period (maybe loading up), it wasn't a constant noise and definitely didn't impact our experience. There's a nice play park for children and a great nature walk (on site) where we all enjoyed a fire in a purpose built fire pit area. I've had a wonderful weekend here and I will most definitely be returning. I think some people just like looking for things to complain about. The owners clearly try very hard keeping this site running nicely and making sure campers have a good experience (I saw him helping other campers too and he was always at hand to help).

We camped out so didn't use the rooms but the site was nice. The road leading up to it was a pit pot holey but its easy to navigate. Nice friendly staff.

We were greeted by the owner who was very friendly and made us feel very welcome. The location is excellent, the bed was very comfy and the cooked breakfast was also lovely! We would highly recommend to anyone looking to stay in Buxton!
