Sadly this was one of the worst restaurant experiences ever had. Yes, understood they had 2 large parties in, but please do not book tables if you cannot cope with the volume of people. 28 minutes to take our food order. Then...... A table arrives next to us. The table next to us then gets served food. The table next to us is then finished. We still havnt received our food. After 45 minutes further We left. Apparently the food was " just coming " ... but the evening had already been ruined. I wouldn't return no.

Fantastic little pub with gorgeous food and lovely friendly staff. Staff went above and beyond to make us feel welcome and to meet our needs. Would advise to walk to it if possible because parking was quite difficult.

Gem of a pub and eatery. This place does it all... It's a pub Serves for throughout the day It's also for a small farm house shop! We were staying around the corner at the shepherds hut which we found on air BnB. We are here for two evening meals and one breakfast. Evening meal 1: really good food and menu. Great gluten free selection which is always impressive. For our first meal at both had steaks with upgraded parmesan truffle fries and vegetables. For pudding at both had sticky toffee pudding (one gluten free!). Day 2: breakfast. Full English with local sourced produce. Very nice! And eggs benedict. Both really nice. The only let down being the coffee, it wasn't a bad cup but I like a decent espresso and the coffee machine they have just doesn't do it. The Mrs had a flat white which also wasn't up to scratch. My home machine does a better job. Dinner: steak and ale pie and a gluten free burger. Both delicious. The pie is a very generous portion. Really friendly staff and a lovely atmosphere.

We had been turned away at Castleton from 3 pubs that were full (it was Friday night). We came on a whim on the way back to Buxton, using google maps/customer pics and the review rating. We arrived hungry but without a booking and there wasn't really room for us, but a lovely couple moved tables for us so we could fit in! The menu is just right, something for everyone, two teenagers were not disappointed (pizza/pasta). The specials board though, is just great. I had the lamb shank, my husband had the venison. Both were superbly cooked and presented and service was really good. Pricing seems spot in. Just a perfect meal.

What a lovely hidden gem set in a small countryside village. The covered outside area is great, preventing rain stopping play. A great menu with a wide variety of food options to choose from. Lots of drink options. Including real ales at the bar. The staff where very friendly and helpful with no request a problem. Would definitely go back if in the area or if staying at the camp site again.

Me and my good lady called in yesterday lunchtime on a walk. This pub constantly never fails. The staff are very friendly and genuinely nice people. All the craft beers are very nice and there is always a handful on. But what make this pub is the food, not only is it nice but you get decent helpings. This in my opinion including the quality of the food sells the pub. How many times have we all been out and thrown away good money after bad!! Here you don't have to worry about that. Well done and keep it up.

Really nice quiet spot, which was even better in the scorching sunshine. I ate outside on the covered terrace with a quenching cold pint of Madri. I ordered a good old fashioned traditional Scampi which was served with either fries / chips and mushy / garden peas. I chose the chips and garden peas and was not disappointed! The portion size was large and it was beautiful. The staff were polite and tentative and I will definitely be going back in the near future to sample something from the fantastic specials board.

Really lovely pub set in a beautiful location just down the road from Castle Naze rocks. The staff were super friendly and the pub itself is lovely and quaint. There’s also plenty of seating outside the front for those beautiful sunny days like today. I would add that any vegans looking to eat here might struggle. There was one starter on the menu that was vegan and that was it.

Amazing pub lunch! One of the best ploughman's ever! We sat outside in a sun trap bit the inside was very sweet and charming. The little farm shop is also a real treat!!

Nestled amidst the picturesque countryside, Beehive Inn is a true gem that captures the essence of a perfect countryside pub. From the moment you step inside, you're enveloped in a warm and inviting atmosphere that instantly puts you at ease. With its charming decor, friendly staff, and a delightful menu, this pub has become my go-to destination for a relaxing retreat.

We went as a party of 9, the pub was already busy and we had a lovely evening, fabulous food, service and value for money and a wonderful and very varied menu with loads of choice. I had steak and ale pie which was fabulous followed my lemon meringue cheesecake. Wonderful

Can't fault this excellent pub. Steak and Ale pie had lovely shortcrust pastry, the meals were plentiful and beautifully presented. We both had the very good sticky toffee pudding, and finished with liqueur coffee. I might add that I was given the option of pouring the cream myself or them pouring which was nice as some places seem to have no idea how to make a layer of cream sit on top of the coffee. They did it very nicely for me. Staff were helpful and friendly.

Amazing gluten free food at a good price. Very good service and waiters, very kind and caring. They accept dogs and have plenty of vegan options. Their shop inside has a never ending list of dog treats and the food is just so good and mouthwatering. The waiters check up on you and provide excellent answers and questions to all your needs. The people who eat there are very accepting and friendly, a good place for all ages.

Really nice food and beer. Great halfway point if you're walking between hills or towns. Very steep walk up out and over to Buxton or Dove but amazing views.

During our stay at combs valley campsite we booked in to eat at The Beehive. I’ve got to say that it’s up there with the best meals we’ve ever had in a restaurant. All home cooked to perfection and very reasonably priced. I was very pleased to see a Thornbridge brew on tap also. After the excellent evening meal we returned the following morning to have an equally excellent breakfast. Thank you,we’re definitely going to be back.πŸ‘ŒπŸ»

Really enjoyable experience, I have been here on 2 occasions now about 2 years apart. Lovely pub set in a great village with lots of walks and ample parking available. Nice atmosphere and we loved seeing all the doggos. Food was tasty and the service was good. They dealt with our big group well. I had a starter of bread, the beehive burger and the beehive sundae. I have marked down a star because I felt the beef brisket on the burger was more like a pulled beef, still nice but not as described. Also the sundae was a lot of cream, one dollop of (very nice local) ice cream and then all the salted caramel sauce was at the bottom, this didn't feel like there was much sauce. The homemade honeycomb though was great.

Fantastic little pub. Seemed like everyone else thought so too, as on a Wednesday evening it was packed. Homely and dog friendly too. Few different rooms to sit in, including a nice covered outdoor seating area to the front of the pub. Normal range of drinks available, with a good menu to choose from. Service was very friendly, a little slow, but as they were full that was expected. The food is delicious. We'll presented and fresh, no complaints there. The ploughman's in particular is excellent value. A bread board covered in home cooked ham, patΓ© and cheeses, along with all the accompaniments. Pudding was a chocolate brownie, which was epic in its proportions. Overall, very highly recommend.

Very good food. The desserts must be some of the best have eaten over the years. I think is the highlights of the meal. Five stars because of the desserts.

Excellent pub in a great setting with a genuine rural feel. Superb food, ideal for hungry walkers, Ploughman's being the highlight. You can also stock up on essentials as they sell milk, eggs etc.

really nice place went in after a long walk and the staff were really welcoming. the food was delicious had a steak and ale pie which was beautiful. the meat was so tender and soft in really melted in my mouth. chips couldve been fluffier but that's just how I like them. all the waitresses were friendly and attentive aswell.

It's a little out of the way, but the beehive has a great reputation locally. Its a bit pricey for food and drink but it's good quality. It can get very busy during peak times so booking is recommended. They do try to accommodate disabilities but it's an old building so steps sometimes can't be avoided. They have some parking spots out front and a dedicated car park. Drinks are standard for the most part, food is mostly down to earth stuff including burgers and pizzas, but they also do some other higher brow stuff.

A great location for starting a walk and returning for, in our case, a late lunch. The staff were friendly and very helpful. Peaceful and picturesque location with a good menu and fairly priced. I'm already planning another visit and a different walk.

Lovely country pub. Nice glass of wine. I had chicken breast which was good and the vegetables were cooked perfectly, only let down by what I believe were frozen skinny chips which were hard. Generous helpings.

A little off the beaten track, but not disappointed once I reached the Beehive Inn. Succulent steak, chips with cheese and bacon, onion rings, side of vegetables and peeper corn source to help it down, absolutely delicious 😁 Sticky toffee pudding and custard for afters and helped down with a nice, I've cold lager. Good value, good service, would highly recommend.

Took Mum & Dad out for lunch (day release) today and what a great surprise this place is. Superb food and great service. Well worth the trip out and looking foward to going again. I had the king prawn & chorizo salad for starters and a margherita for main, great stuff. 10/10, especially the king prawns and pizza base and sauce. Fantastic. Especially in the sun!
