Lovely and convenient place to drop into, especially when hungry after a long hike in the peaks. Ample space to sit inside and outside. They have their own parking spaces and have a few rooms on offer if you need to stay over night. They got good beers and a typical English menu, from Roast dinner (Sundays) to pies to fish and ships. We've had the bangers and mash and they were excellent! Definitely recommended.

Great pub. Nice selection of beers. Located in a beautiful spot stunning scenery. Very popular with walkers from all over. The gardens get very busy but this makes for a buzzing atmosphere and everyone is friendly. Staff are very welcoming and talkative. One of the bar staff even took our dog for a little walk. We'll worth the visit

It is one of the places that doesn't need my review. The pub is already so popular among hikers, and I believe will stay popular as long as those mountains and Edale exist. And it is really live up to its name. The food was amazing. We could even had a very nice rice and curry there. As an Asian, I really craved rice after a long day hike. And we stayed there for 2 nights, the room was cozy. The parking is huge. And dog friendly as well. Will go there again in different seasons.

The Rambler is a good pub after you've been for a long hike. The food has always been good and hearty and there's a selection of beers to quench the thirst. Good looking Sunday roast lunches if you fancy one.

As a country pub and watering hole for country walkers it doesn't get much better. Excellent range of hand pumped beers as well as usual lagers. Great pub menu with plenty on your plate and great service. In winter with a roaring fire to get you warm. In summer with a large beer garden to kick back and enjoy the rays and the beer after a long day out on the hill. Recommended.

We stopped here after a walk around Mam Tor and it was brilliant. Lovely warm and cozy atmosphere, dog friendly. Big car park and rooms on site. The staff were very friendly, the food was great and the prices were decent for the quality. Would recommend if you are in the area.

Had a great meal and a few beers after a 35k hike in rather warm weather. Very busy and a queue out the door but this didn't detract much from the experience. Interesting menu and good quality food. Loads of different lager's on tap, a couple of ales on hand-pull which were well kept. Only thing missing was IPA or Pale Ale, not one available given the many taps.

We visited The Rambler Inn for lunch after doing the Mam Tor circular walk on holiday. The staff are very friendly and there is plenty of room to eat either out or inside; lots of tables outside. The pub is dog friendly which was a massive bonus to us with our 21 month old black lab. The menu is second to none for Coeliacs or Gluten Free people. I had the fish and chips which was outstanding. Incidentally our daughter had the same dish and is not gluten free and could not fault it! This is definitely worth a visit. I can't comment on the rooms as we were not staying guests.

Stayed for one night at the Rambler's Inn, wish I could stay here longer. The pub and it's rooms are very homely and is everything you could want from a countryside Inn. The rooms are very comfortable after a long day of walking. The WiFi is also very fast. There are homemade food options downstairs throughout the day, and in the morning the team lays out a spread and also cooks breakfast for you. All was very tasty. The team are very friendly and professional. It has a large car park, and it is also a stones throw away from the train station. Local walks are very accessible from here.

Pleasant village inn for walkers with friendly, welcoming staff. Simple menu but we enjoyed the food (served quickly and always hot) and ate there four evenings in a row. We also enjoyed their Rambler own-brand pale ale.

Spent the night after the train strikes. We were looked after, good food and nice rooms! They also gave us a lift to the next village so we could get back to Sheffield! They bent over backwards for us to get us back home else we would have been stuck after a 5 day wild camp

Stayed here with my partner, it’s a beautiful pub where you can sit outside with a drink and enjoy the scenic views. The bed was so comfy, we slept amazing. Breakfast was also delicious!!! Perfect place to stay after a hike. The staff were all absolutely lovely and accommodating. Thank you very much!

Super friendly staff, and a welcomed stop after a 20km walk in the heat. The tables in the patio are very shady and even better that they are a non smoking area. This pub has a very large beer garden and it’s not an expensive place. 2 ciders and 2 lime and soda’s were Β£12. Family and dog friendly inside and out. It’s also right opposite the village car park. Ideal. Worth a stop off and so much better then the pub in the main village as the beer garden and views are so much better.

Visited whilst on a weekend camping trip with the kids. Was very busy, queuing outside the door to order food and drinks, but the staff managed as best they could and dealt with our orders quickly. Food was decent, and the beer garden was lovely in the sun.

Poking around out back of Edale Station after a spot of lunch, we were delighted to find this excellent pub. Dismal day, it has to be said so the warm friendly environment was most welcome. I had the pork belly which was succulent and flavoursome. The black pudding mash was a tad gluey but the pile of roasted vegetables was excellent. A pint of Cheshire Cat made it complete. My wife had the pork stroganoff and rice from the specials board and some cider. Seemed to go down well.

It's exactly what you want from a country pub near the train station. The food is cheaper than the other pub in the village but does what you want. Beer selection is good and kept well plus it has a huge amount of tables. Can't comment on the rooms as I've never stayed but it's great as a pub.

Lovely staff. Perfect location right next to Edale train station and at the base of the hills. Good quality food and drinks. Lots of room in the beer garden for when the weather is good or for big groups. I would definitely recommend implementing this pub into your walk!

We only popped in for a quick drink after our hike, but I've been coming here for years!! The food looked and smelled amazing with very generous portion sizes - just a shame we couldn't stay longer for a bite to eat. We'll be back on our next adventure!

Had a lovely visit here today for lunch. Been a few times & the food never disappoints. I had the fishfinger sandwhich & chips. The fish was lovely & light. My boyfriend had cheesy garlic bread & cheesy chips. He said both we're nice & he really liked the salad dressing on the salad that came with the cheesy garlic bread. Service was fast & friendly. The people clearing the tables we're doing a fantastic job 😊

Seated outside where there is cover if raining as we had our dog with us. Food was good I had a fishfinger butty and it was a lot of batter so wouldn't have it again but that was just personal preference. Lovely gardens.

Stopped in here after a hard ramble up the kinder scout and back again. The pub is literally next to the train station and has plenty to offer in food and drink. It's well furnished and clean and has a large outdoor area to sit in the sun. The bar staff were pleasant, and the beer was good. What more do you want :) Check in after your hike or if you are in the area.

Perfect for a reviving lunch mid-way on our walk from Monsal Viaduct back to Castleton. We had an excellent value two course lunch deal - Β£12 the day we visited. The staff could not have been more friendly and happily brought our food outside - though we had accidentally chosen the table furthest from the pub :(

This place is absolutely stunning! Rooms are lovely, staff are friendly and it couldn’t be more perfectly located for long (and short hikes) around the valley. Will definitely be coming back here next time I’m in the Peak District.

What an amazing stay!! Carole and all the rest of the staff could not have been more friendly or helpful. The room was lovely and I slept better here than I do at home!! Perfect location for Kinder Scout too. Woul definitely come back!

Really great pub that had a fabulous wood burner, most welcome when we stopped by after our walk around Kinder reservoir. Staff very friendly and good choice of drinks. Very clean inside and well maintained

Nice pub, a large group of us popped in after a day of hill walking. We were a bit muddy and the pub was really busy, so were asked to sit outside (patio heaters were on, under cover) which we didn't mind. The service was great, and I was given a taster of the beer I wasn't sure about. Lovely spot to stop, would go back again if in the area.

I visited today for a quick pint before my train back to Reddish North. I had a pint of old Rosie cider which was very refreshing. I wanted food but didn't have time. Nice looking boozer with plenty of outdoor seating.

Brilliant location. Just finished a hike and headed straight to this friendly, quality pub. The food was excellent (and fast). The specials menu was better than I'd seen, and the ham turkey and chicken pie was a huuuuge portion. Chips cooked just the way they should be. Crispy crunch, with a fluffy soft centre. Spot on.

Visited this pub once again with a large group (12) on a Wednesday evening. Staff were friendly, helpful, polite and nothing was too much trouble. Food was just what we needed and there was a good selection of beers. One issue - no Guinness.

One of the most chilled places I have been to. Amazing views from the beer garden. Friendly welcoming staff and a wonderful Sunday lunch. Portion was more than ample, plenty of roast beef huge Yorkshire pudding and traditional roast potatoes and veg. Highly recommend.

The Rambler is such a lovely traditional pub. After a long day walking round the dark peak, there is nowhere better to go for a drink and a bite to eat. The staff are super friendly and there is a great selection of food and drink. Everything is very reasonably priced and good quality. If you're ever in Edale it's definitely worth dropping in for refreshments.

Super busy when we arrived after a walk although the car park looked empty. Don't need to book it's just a case of turn up and wait for a table and it wasn't long until we were all sat down, coffee tea and beer served at the bar with some delicious flapjacks and rocky road in fabulous slab sized pieces. Happy smiling welcome from the bar staff as we arrived. Didn't eat today but the food coming out looked fantastic, prices from around Β£13 per main, we would have stayed for food if we had more time and I will be returning shortly with the family to eat. The tables are well laid out and the atmosphere was friendly and welcoming. The ladies toilets are a little snug but very well kept and managed a successful waterproof trousers removal dance!

A really friendly pub. It was raining hard when I arrived at the pub, my waterproofs were soaking wet and I left a pool of water wherever I went. They were totally unconcerned with that. I had a Mam Tor burger and a pint of Farmer's blonde - good food and good beer. 5 out of 5 for the pub, the beer and the food.

Amazing beer garden with views of the peaks, perfect for some food and drink after a long walk. Lots of gluten-free options on the menu even with gluten-free beer so we were really happy to have found this place! Great location for the train station too. Thanks.

If you want amazing views, solid well priced food and a good pint then definitely give this pub a go. We called in on our beer train day and will definitely become a regular stop. Thoroughly recommend.

Had a lovely 2 night stay here a couple of weekends ago and loved it. The staff are brilliant, with the service being quick and efficient. They were always happy to help and so patient with the Covid restrictions and making customers feel safe. The rooms are comfortable and spacious, we had a room for 3. Food was delicious with the fish and chips being the favourite of the group, the breakfast is also worth commenting on! But all was well priced and lovingly prepared Thank you to all those that made our weekend so special
