It's extremely beautiful. Especially in the snow! Tricky walk, unsuitable for people with a wheelchair, I'm afraid. (Unless there's another way up!??) A little treacherous in snow & ice, but well worth it in the end! The view is astounding! I was a little unsure about going up, with snow on the way, but it passed over us, without so much as a blast! (Except comin' back there was a bit of hail!) so, advice; Go togged up & waterproof jacket & wellies & hat/scarf are a must! Stay warm & you'll have a great day! (I'm not gonna guarantee it! You might have a horrible time! But I didn't. For Experienced walkers, really.)

Hi. Lots of grate walks a place to go to get away from the stresses of every day life & if the weather is right lots of Paragliding to watch. Plenty of parking areas.

From a small country lane called "the street" we joined our first path going down hill to Saint Josephs shrine, continuing down hill on the uneven and Rocky path you come to a bridge at the valley bottom crossing the river goyt you go up some 20+ steps and via left around the hill stopping off at errwood hall ruin we then came back to the valley bottom by the farm house ruins, we took the white stone path leading up into the woods this path is challenging, steep, uneven, Rocky and winds its way back up the valley joing cat tor stone path turn right and you eventually return back to "the street" County lane. A exciting, challenging yet beautiful hike well worth the effort, free parking available, child friendly and dog friendly. Perfect views. Peak district at its best 👌

Great walks and views; very quiet and free parking readily available. Also a great soaring site.

A good route up to Shining Tor is via the Cats Tor. Flag stones make it an easily done route in stout shoes or well fitting trainers so long as they have a cleated sole.
