All basic and necessary amenities are present. Heating is timed but is well sufficient. Kitchen is adequate. Nice property where easily 8 people can stay comfortably. There is an extensive and varied collection of books presented throughout the property. The ownerโ€™s cat comes to say hello very often.

This is a lovely place to stay. The room was clean and well equipped. Location was excellent for walking in the area. Breakfast was delicious and we booked the packed lunches which were lovely. Book tables at the local pubs if you plan to go there for dinner!

We stayed in the cottage called Top Tack for nine nights towards the end of November. We were waiting for a house purchase to complete and needed somewhere to stay - we actually only live a couple of miles away, so in other circumstances we would never have had the opportunity to stay in this beautiful place. Top Tack was warm and cosy, with piping hot water, and spotlessly clean. It had an excellent kitchen, very comfortable sitting room with wood burner (which we didn't actually need because the cottage was toasty warm) and perfect wifi and Freesat reception. The location is peaceful and off the beaten track, but only a couple of minutes away from a 'main' road. As a holiday base it would be perfect, and we felt like we had been on holiday, although that wasn't the purpose of our stay! We had such a relaxing time, and we wouldn't hesitate to recommend Rushop Hall to anyone wanting to visit the Peak District.

A return to Rushop, this time in The Pepper Pot. Lovely self contained accommodation, if the stairs are a bit steep! Nice and warm with a comfy bed and nice shower. Friendly and accommodating hosts and tasty breakfasts with lots of choice. Great for exploring the northern Peak District. We will be back!

The quaint setting and historical buildings blend seamlessly with modern furnishings and amenities. Staff are extremely attentive and serve an excellent breakfast. Add to these the picturesque and rugged countryside, and Rushop Hall is a must for any traveler!

A quiet place off a main road in a secluded valley. Nevertheless easy to access as were places of interest close by. Room under the roof and at the top of a flight of carpeted stairs - no lift. Being under the roof parts of the room you had to bend a bit. None of this troubled me as have experienced this in similarly renovated places. Also window was at floor level. Bed comfortable and shower easy to operate. It was a cool room and quiet. Outside were stables & fields for the horses & alpaca. There was also a wide range of different books in the bookcases if you had nothing to do or it was raining The breakfast was a treat - fresh fruit, plum compote, cereal and the traditional English breakfast but with no baked beans or hash browns - hooray! Moreover the portions were ideal and not dripping in oil or fat. All cooked perfectly. Fruit juices, tea & coffee. Excellent breakfast which set me up for the day. The owners were very helpful & obliging. Plenty of safe car parking spaces & not intrusive to the surroundings. A small improvement would be some shelves or a chest of drawers to put clothes during a longer stay but perhaps my room was different to others. A most enjoyable stay.

Beautiful rooms converted from old buildings. Exceptionally clean, well maintained, and welcoming rooms. I stayed in 'bridles' and loved it. Rushop Hall is just outside of Castleton and close to the major hiking areas of the Peak District

Another wonderful stay at the beautiful Rushop Hall this Easter holidays. We'd previously stayed here twice before in the bedrooms above the dining area of which both rooms were relaxing, comfortable and beautifully decorated. This time we'd decided to try the Pepper Pot, and we were blown away with the high standard. Particularly the attention to detail of this little cottage and the sheer comfort it provided us for our two night stay. Jan & Neil are amazing hosts, and provide you with exceptional customer service. Which has the right balance of being very welcoming but allowing you, your personal space-Really love this about them. Nothing is never too much trouble, so please ask them! Breakfast is delicious and beautifully cooked. Loved the additional fresh fruit & yogurt etc. Location is perfect, remote and relaxing with stunning views. Perfect surroundings for a wonderful nights sleep and of course beautiful views to wake up to in the morning. Thank you for making our stay just as delightful as it was 7 years ago. It's really refreshing to see that your high standards of service remain. We'll definitely be back next year. Hazel & Steve Milford
