There has been a lot of effort put into pathways around the dams to ensure a lovely long and comfortable walk, and it's great for cyclists too. Dogs are welcome but must remain leashed at all times due to the livestock and wildlife. Beautiful scenery and many historical info boards and features dotted along the way including info on local wildlife. There is parking available at the visitors centre along with toilets, disabled facilities and baby changing room. Food and drinks are available and there are many picnic benches to accommodate families. You won't regret spending your day here but be prepared, it's not a short walk around all of the reservoirs! Enjoy, we certainly did.

This is actually a review of Derwent Dam west tower which is accessible down a number of steep incline steps from the Derwent Dam service road. Great to be able to see this magnificent piece of history from a different viewpoint, that is at ground level. Whilst you're down here have a look at the nature trail just before the stone bridge on your way back to the steep steps and surprise yourself with the super-sized wildlife sculptures.

This is a beautiful place to go for a long walk or a short stroll. Lots of trees and can get rugged but mainly flat. There is the massive dam to see and explore. There is a cafe a very small cafe seating is outside unfortunately but still a good place to for a quick refreshing drink be that hot or cold. They sell breakfast in a bun and crisp chocolate and other assortments plus there are toilets in there men women and disabled. There are many places to park and numerous car parks around the dam so choose your spot carefully before going. I fully endorse this amazing free wilderness. Enjoy

Stunning viewpoint overlooking the magnificent Derwent Dam. The walks by the reservoir from the Derwent Dam along to the Howden Dam further up the valley are very scenic, with wide, level paths giving easy access. Not much parking at the viewpoint and the road is closed on Sundays beyond the visitor centre. Even out of peak season it can get very busy on weekends so would recommend visiting in the week if you can.

Beautiful scenery, enjoyable drive lots of places to explore and great for walkers and cycling ... well worth the visit. Historic landmark as the Dambusters used this area to practise before the raids. There is a cafe and public toilets along the way.

This is in the peak district very popular trailing location. You get choices of trailing alone the reservoir. Cycling / hiking /even scooting or strollers are possible to a great extent. Kids enjoy the picnic by the side of the reservoir. Parking is bit of a problem in a busy day though there are many parking sites pay and free.

This viewpoint is amazing. The whole valley is a lovely place to visit and the visitor centre at Fairholmes is great. Thank you Seven Trent and Peak District!

What a walk! Only did half of it. 100% going back soon to do it all. Recommend to anyone that wants a good walk. Flat for most of it. Got toilets at the start with a gift shop and little shop window to buy food and hot drinks.

Absolutely stunning place with huge forest around. The view is still amazing even if you visit during rainy day, as you can see the massive flow of water going down from the dam.

Great place to visit with a choice of walks. There are several carparks on the way, but we headed straight to the end. Dogs are allowed but must be on the lead. Lots of historical information signposted around. There is a small kiosk serving food, which is very reasonably priced.

A brilliant place to visit by car, motorcycle or cycle. You can get all the way to the other end of the reservoir. Definitely worth a visit.

First visit. The dam is spectacular. Water levels were very low so we'll return sometime over winter when hopefully we've had plenty of rain.

Had a lovely walk around here. We parked in the car park where there is a great little café, just beware, they only.like to take cash. There are also public toilets and other amenities here too. The walk to the first dam is a short walk, with lots to see on the way, we only went to the top of the first dam on this occasion, but intend to go back and follow some.of the longer mapped walks along the dams and around the bridge. Lovely area that is suitable for almost all abilities and plenty to see.

Exceptionally beautiful and steeped in history regarding the Dam Busters and the testing of the bouncing bomb. Disabled Access from the main parking area is not clear though. Access to the Dam through the forest for the disabled is impossible. You'd need to go through the no access gate at the round about at the main car park and drive up the hill to the small car park to drop off those people and then go back down to the main car park to actually park.

Views we stunning with plenty of places to stop and soak on the surroundings. Parking located next to the visitors centre although Pay and display, there is free parking just before on the access road.

You can spend days walking around here. Every time you come go a different way and you will find new walk/sight to see. I still haven't seen everything to see going again soon. You don't have to be a hiker to do most but adventuring up to the top has amazing views. The lake has a good 4to 5 hour walk longer if you stop a look at everything.

Some really nice walks some gentle others are a little more taxing Dams look amazing it's a shame you can't actually walk along the ropes of them. Can easily spend a day here exploring and not see it all. Great place to relax it can get busy but people tend to disperse all over the area.
