Absolutely stunning river and area for walks, any distance long or short, enough of a challenge to suit all fitness levels. Could do with a bit more signage on the paths to help with orientation and directions to your destination of choice but you can't really get lost. We did a four hour hike with a lovely steak and ale pie at the restaurant in Hayfield where we found parking without too much hassle.πŸ€©πŸ†β˜ΊοΈπŸ»πŸ‘.

Kinder downfall, the largest waterfall in our national parks, is a fabulous place to visit. The wild Peak District can be seen for miles here, with views to the reservoir and mermaid's pool. The trek there can be strenuous, depending on how you approach, but don't be disheartened - make sure you have some safety equipment and lots of daylight and try it out. The area surrounding the Downfall has lots of different places to try and go to too, so make it a whole day out with some packed lunch.

A nice outdoors place to visit. If i remember correctly this is the highest mountain in whole peak district. Total height "630" meters i think, plus it have the longest waterfall with 60 meters length as well. When you climb on top if it you will see clearly that waterfall :) a beautiful nature all around it.

Could spend hours here listening to the rushing water and soaking up the sunshine, it's a must-visit for any hikers in the area.

Just a small trickle today due to the recent dry spell of weather. Plenty of very friendly sheep up here to keep you company. Great views of course at this height.

Love this place. Keep coming back. Only had it clear twice though. Come up via the Clough by going past the pub and then come down Jacobs ladder. Much more fun.

Well worth the drive . Such a beautiful area with stunning views.Be aware of the weather the fog came down on us so quickly. It went from clear to not being able to see in front of you in minutes.

A gorgeous beauty of natural rock feature high up on the Kinder Scout - quite a short but tough hike to get to and unfortunately mostly the dramatic waterfall is nothing but a bare trickle of water

Absolutely stunning and imposing waterfall. The sheer rock faces and cascading water make it a truly wonderful natural beauty. I personally climbed it on my last visit which was exciting, exhilirating, and more than terrifying, but overall a really great time. Hope to go back at some point; it's one of my favourite places in the Peaks

Really beautiful area, easily accessible with a medium size pay and display car park and loads of roadside parking. It takes about 45 minutes to drive from Manchester in normal traffic. Several routes to choose from to suit different fitness levels or time frames, some circular so that you can make the most of things and see different scenery. Be aware that there are a few quite steep sections, but nothing that children aged 5 and up can't handle. Also, the hillside is very exposed with a lot of wind in most of the area. In short it's a great place for a half day or full day family hike. There are also more challenging sections for experienced hikers like the downfall itself, which is a pretty serious scramble.

Absolutely stunning area for walking although the waterfall is not lots of gushing water. Steep edges too so if you're with kids, watch out. The craggy rock faces are incredibly dramatic and beautiful. It's not amazingly signposted, although the footpaths from Kinder Reservoir are easy enough to follow. Don't expect signs every five minutes though and without a map and proper planning you could easily get lost.

Super hot and sunny! Why do other dog owners leave poo bags in the summit? Easy walk, although a long one with stunning views over Manchester. Much much less busy than Mantour. Easy gravel paths with a little bit of scrambling. Suitable for dogs, just take water as there are. I streams for a while.

Great hiking for all. We walked up past the reservoir. Unless there's been quite a bit of rain the downfall can be anything from nothing to a trickle but still some great views

Good hiking location. Found it to be very peaceful at the downfall. Would highly recommend the expert route off Komoot if you are looking for a mildly challenging hike. You can link up to the routes from Castleton here if you want a loop route.

Peaceful and tranquil, great place to get away from it all and enjoy the natural beauty of our surroundings.

It's absolutely beautiful at Kinder Downfall. We usually set off from Bowden Bridge car park, we go past the reservoir and make our way up William Clough. I've been their in almost all weather conditions but obviously it is the best on a clear cool day.

A spectacular area on Kinder Scout. A full days hiking with many parts which are challenging. The route isn't suitable for wheelchair users or those with reduced mobility.
