My sister struggles to find places to eat out that do both gluten free and vegetarian meals. At Vigour & Virtue, she could eat anything on the menu! As everything was gf and vegan, she felt safe knowing there would be no cross contamination, and was able to have a relaxing time eating out. I'm neither vegan or coeliac, but I enjoyed my classic breakfast just as much as a typical full English brunch, and the personal, friendly service made us feel right at home. Doodle pads and books nice touches too 😍 highly recommend.

This is one of my favourite vegan places to eat. Ely and Devana are wonderful owners, always super welcoming and friendly. The food is lovely, especially the naan bread pizza and their tofu bites, and Devana makes the BEST vegan cake! 100% recommend to anyone in the area - not just vegans!

This lovely and relaxing cafe is worth the journey to Buxton. Whether you're vegan or not, this place is definitely worth a visit, the energy is so beautiful and you come out feeling so relaxed and zen. I've not had anything I haven't liked and highly recommend the Afternoon Tea

Vigour & Virtue are located on the main high street in Buxton so easy to locate. My preference was a vegan naan pizza which came with crisps and salad. It was like a deep pan pizza with a quite doughy like base. It was a nice meal in a serene and quiet surroundings. Aside from the food on the menu, there were a few options on the chalkboard. The eatery had various mindfulness books and activities to keep adults and children occupied. There is a single toilet available for use.

Went to Vigour and Virtue for the first time today and loved it. Being vegan can be challenging so to find somewhere fully vegan is brilliant. Throw in being gluten free is amazing! We liaised with them before hand to check out a few options and reserve a table and they couldn't have been more helpful, even saying they would aim to make a few cakes that caught our eye online for our visit. The visit itself was everything we could have hoped for, really tasty, wholesome food, that also looks great! The cakes were so nice too, I know people can be apprehensive about cakes not using gluten but try them and you won't be disappointed! They are also extremely welcoming and friendly! We were also able to get bits to take out so we have been well and truly sorted for food on our visit to Buxton! We will definitely be back!

Hugely grateful to the lovely staff for staying open and making us beautiful gluten-free vegan food - we arrived later than we had hoped, due to terrible weather and driving conditions, were told that the kitchen had closed but when we said that we had travelled for over an hour to get there, they stayed open and we really appreciate their kindness. We had a cheese and pickle toastie, salt and pepper tofu bites with a gorgeous sauce and the daily special - a root veg simmer. We also had a mocha, a latte and bought cakes for take out. Hugely impressed with this place. Highly recommended to all - try it even if you're not a gluten free vegan! 💚

Calm relaxing environment. Calming interior with lots of plants and a feel good place to have a drink or a healthy meal—a perfect place to go with babies too because of the peaceful environment. Recommend the vigour salad with coronation tofu (delicious!!) And the vast array of coffee and teas.

Such a lovely cafe. The owners made us immediately feel welcome. We ordered a tea and home made vegan/gluten free chocolate cake which was so delicious we bought more to take home! The cafe is fully vegan and gluten free, with a varied menu and very reasonable prices. Will definitely visit again.

My boyfriend and I popped in after walking up Mam Tor and had the LOVELIEST experience. There’s a warm, comforting vibe from the moment you step through the door. The service was brilliant, nothing was too much trouble and the owners are so attentive (without being imposing!). The vegan food was delicious. We had cooked breakfasts, a couple of coffees and a slice of cake each and it was all unreal. We left with full stomachs and massive smiles on our faces. We’ll definitely be coming back if we’re in the area, and really encourage other vegans to swing by and support such a special small business full of heart.

I've been here a few times now and have never been disappointed. Today I had their Sunday Roast for the first time and it definitely won't be the last. As a coeliac vegan I was over the moon to get not only a decent Yorkshire pudding, but a fantastic one. Lovely chunky onion gravy, veg cooked to perfection and a beautiful homemade nutritious loaf. I went to @vigour.and.virtue , a super awesome coffee shop that's all-vegan and gluten-free🌱GF 👍 🛎️They serve breakfast until 11:30 am and lunch after that. You can enjoy delicious cooked breakfasts, curries, naan bread pizzas, sandwiches, coffee, and cake – all freshly made🍕☕️🥪🥐🍞🥗🍰🍽️ The shop is open on different days with funky hours: Monday 09:30 am to 03:30 pm, Tuesday 09:30 am to 04:00 pm, Thursday and Friday 09:30 am to 04:00 pm, Saturday 09:30 am to 05:00 pm, and Sunday 09:30 am to 04:00 pm. They're even open on bank holidays, so that's pretty cool! 👨‍👩‍👧‍👦Vigour & Virtue is family and kid-friendly. They have a special corner where you can get creative by coloring and drawing. How fun is that? ❣️ The staff is really nice, and the place is clean and relaxing. They also have little boxes on the tables for positive affirmations. It's such a cool atmosphere😍 It was our first visit, and we had a blast! We can't wait to go back for more delicious food and to let our creativity shine. Another great visit to Vigour & Virtue today, went for a healthy option with the virtue bowl after over indulging with the breakfast the last time and it did not dissappoint, the coronation tofu was lovely and the lemon and poppyseed cake that followed was amazing. And it is all vegan and gluten free. the couple that own and run the place are very pleasant, looking forward to going back and trying more of the amazing food.

I recently ordered a chocolate caramel cake from here for a friends celebration following a recommendation from a friend. What a recommendation it was! I could not have been happier. The cake had beautiful flavour, it was so moist and the smell! What a smell. I've never smelt a cake smell so good. They definitely know what they're doing! GF cakes can be hard to do well but wow, this place is unreal. I would recommend them to the highest level, you will not be disappointed, my friend definitely wasn't. The cake did not last long!

We are visiting from America and stopped with our 2 small boys this afternoon. We had a lovely meal and were so happy to finally find a place to accommodate our dietary needs! The staff was amazing and very friendly, getting us in quickly as we hadn’t booked ahead. Hopefully can make it back once more before we leave!

I really enjoyed my gluten free AND vegan sponge chocolate and vanilla cake, which I think is a hard one to pull off. I enjoyed the coffee, no faults there. We loved the bay window which was a lovely place to sit and people watch.

A great little independent restaurant and cafe with super tasty and healthy food. Excellent and helpful staff. Independent businesses have been having a hard time in Buxton recently so it’s wonderful to see somewhere thriving and fighting to keep the independent spirit in the town!

Lovely experience! The food was so fresh, filling and delicious, the cakes were incredible, I had to take a slice home as well! Loved the relaxed atmosphere and we really enjoyed the playing cards available on the table! It's so hard being able to find a place that I can eat anything off the menu without asking a load of questions - being able to just order and know it's safe was beyond appreciated. Wish we lived closer so we could visit everyday for tea and cake!!

Lovely food, friendly owners and so wonderful for my friend to have found a place where she can eat safely despite her allergies. A gluten free haven and although I'm an omnivore ( you can beat me up later) I thoroughly enjoyed my lunch too.

What a lovely experience all round. The food was beautiful and clean tasting. The buttermilk and turmeric latte was everything that I never knew that I needed. The cakes are to do die for! SO MOIST! The owners have created a lovely, holistic, tranquil and creative space for you to escape the chaos of everyday life. Come check it out, you won't be disappointed.
