This is a beautiful area to walk and enjoy nature AND it's close to town! Multiple trails in the area that you can connect to. (Paved and unpaved) There is plenty of parking spots/lots that are easily accessible and free of charge. Great place to take the family or walk the dog.

I took the Bill Faver Lakeshore Trail while on vacation. It was a beautiful and relaxing 1.8 miles. Trail was well marked with tree markers and posts. It was a mostly flat, easy trail for anyone who wants a nice walk in the woods. They have a big map at both trailheads & it circles back to the parking lot. If you don’t want to do the big loop, you can cut across on one of the shorter trails. I also went into the building once it opened. They have learning materials and live snakes (in their own enclosures) which I thought was SUPER neat. Staff was very pleasant. An older gentleman who worked there (whose name I did not get) talked with me about the snakes and even let me hold a rattle that had fallen off the rattle snake. It was such a great experience. I definitely recommend visiting!! This is a good trip for everyone of all ages & abilities.

My husband and I ran the quick 1.8 mile Bill Faver loop trail on Halloween. There were only two downed trees across the trail. Lots of roots but that’s to be expected. I grew up coming here and this is my first visit in close to 20 years. Happy to see it still mostly well maintained, though one side of the sign on Penny Lane is now illegible with wear and we had to u-turn in because we missed it.

A great 1.8 mile lakeside trail, and a good way to be active for an afternoon. The trail has lots of roots to consider as you meander around the trail; so if you’re klutzy like I can be (😂), be careful, and watch your step! What a great resource in our new home town!!

A wonderful nature preserve in High Point. Large topo map of surrounding cities is a unique and interactive feature. Trails are fun to explore, a great pace to visit.

Thoroughly enjoyed my visit here in fall ‘22! I hiked the Bill Faver Lakeshore Trail (1.8 miles) and was surprised by how hilly the trail was. The trail followed the lake, surrounded by beautiful trees, unique fauna, and wildlife—deer and birds. There were not a ton of people there, so it was particularly relaxing. A beautiful, well-kept local gem!

The center is opened on Sunday with helpful people inside. This place has maps and trials guided with reassurance on where you are with trials. This place has a lot of fun places and is connected to university park and the greenway.

Piedmont Environmental Center is a wonderful place for nature lovers. We have been visiting this center for decades now, and we are always impressed with the quality of their hiking trails. While we generally stick to the paved paths, there are also unpaved hiking trails that you can follow. We were delighted to see that they have extended a wooden bridge all the way to City Lake Park. This is a great addition to the center, and it makes the hiking experience even more enjoyable.

This is a very nice place to visit if you are in the area. My son and his wife used the trails there for their marathon training. Unfortunately, not fishing allowed within the reserve but some beautiful walking trails!!

I found the walk pleasant. There is plenty of nature to see and it looks as if someone has been working to keep the trails clean. I will definitely go again. If it were not for the racial slur uttered by one of the passers by it would have been a perfect walk on the trail. Welcome to America people. Update: after more than 12 recent visits back to the trail I have only had smiles and waves from others on the trail. I continue to be surprised at how well kept the trail is. I know it must be quite a task keeping it that way. For what it’s worth. Good job High Point NC.

Walked the Bill Faver Trail on a sunny early spring day recently and it was very nice and scenic the different connector trails are nice too. The main building has restrooms and maps. Great place for A short hike. The Greenway also starts here and goes about 4 miles to Gibson park. Cool topographic map of the NC and the other states around here that looks like at one time when properly working was really cool to see water flowed in the rivers and to the ocean. Neat to say the least though.

This is one of the hidden gems of the Greensboro-High Point metro area. Once you're on those trails, it feels like you could be in the Uwharries or even somewhere off the Blue Ridge Parkway. I got out of the habit of running these trails for a couple of years and I'm very glad I've started doing so again. Plus, the trails are never too crowded and I've only ever met friendly people. It's just a great place!

It was very busy today, due to the rain yesterday. Lots of dogs, leashes required for that very reason. Other dog owners are very appreciative when they keep their dogs on leashes. Great 1 hour walk down the Bill Favre trail approximately 1.5 miles. There are 8 trails in the park, one additional trail that is 2.5 miles. Looking forward to coming back for more walks/hikes.

While it is quite beautiful, the trails are not well marked especially right near the parking lot. There are many steep climbs which could have been eased by creating trails that zig zag rather then going straight up the sides of the hills.

Many trail marker posts were pulled out of the ground. A couple foot bridges need repair as do a number of benches. The water from the fountain at the snack area tastes awful. The trail we took was pretty tidy and of moderately easy difficulty at a little less than 3 miles round. A few nice views of the lake that had geese. *They've made nice trail markers since the last time we were here.

Watch out for the leash police. They roam the trails letting visitors know that their pets need to be on a leash even when there isn't a soul around. Instead they need to spend that money on fixing up their trails...cleaning up all the fallen trees, and just the overall state of their trails. D- I would much rather go a mile down the road and visit Jamestown Park which has better trails, more wildlife, and less bugs.

We took our dog for a hike at Piedmont Environmental Center while passing through High Point. There are over six miles of natural surface trails running through the woods along the lake as well as access to the Bicentennial and High Point Greenway trails. Lots of pretty lake views along the trails and we saw a great blue heron and lots of ducks. Right at the trailhead is a the NC Mapscape, a huge, walk-on topographic map of North Carolina. Overall, a great place for a hike in High Point and we plan to visit again next time we're in the area.

Enjoyed our annual Hokie Hike at this park. Our group of 8 ranged in age and althetic ability. The path we chose was a good fit both for accessibility as well as picturesque views. We would definitely visit again. Heads up: the lot is a little smaller in size. If coming with a larger group, carpool if possible (to make room for fellow hikers).

Nice trail system, well marked. Not too strenuous but good exercise. Good scenery of the lake.

Beautiful miles of trails for biking, walking or running. Nice, LONG greenway! Parking can get a bit crowded.

Very nice variety of trails and the staff at the main building was friendly and knowledgeable. Enjoyed walking the trails and then sitting in the rocking chairs and watching the birds enjoy the plethora of feeders.
