Food is not good. Service is really good. I got the jamaican burger that was not good. The atmosphere is ok, we came with a big group that they easily accomadated for. Food is pricey too most meals are over 10$.

Bit of a wait, but the food was phenomenal and our waitress (Katie, I believe) was so kind!! I had the meatloaf with mashed potatoes and mac and cheese, all delicious. Family got the teriyaki chicken with broccoli (also great) and pepperoni pizza (possibly the best pepperoni pizza I’ve ever tried). For the price, you can’t beat this food quality.

Food looked good but hamburger tasted like the meat was old it was Grey when I bite in the middle I didn't say anything to the people they were busy. The waitress was great . But I won't be eating there again. They charged like 400 dollars for drink . My mom said her okra was too hard I waste of 15 dollars that day . She wasted 1799.

I enjoyed my experience with this restaurant. I got the meatloaf dinner. It was great. The side vegetables were very good as well.

University Kitchen is one of our favorite restaurants & we usually order from here a couple times a month. We ordered a to go order tonight and although my husband’s dinner was good, mine was terrible. I ordered the meatloaf and it had so much tomato sauce on it that you couldn’t even taste the meatloaf - even after scraping it all off. It looked like a can of tomato sauce had been opened and just poured all over the meatloaf. I ordered fried squash and fried okra as my sides. The fried okra was not done inside. The fried squash, which is normally one of my favorite sides from there, was sliced so incredibly thin that the inside was cold and the outside breading was burnt. All you could taste was a burnt taste. I had to just throw the meal in the trash since we didn’t have time to take it back due to an appointment we had. I’m very disappointed in the food we received and paid for tonight. Pretty sure we will not be ordering from here again.

I had a steak salad here a few years ago that was a hot, wilty mess. I vowed not to return, but kept hearing how good the place is. Thinking the salad may have been a fluke, I tried pork chops, mashed potatoes and pintos today. I am glad they do a good business and wish them well. Maybe my problem is that my mother and her grandmother are/were Martha Stewart level southern cooks, but with all due respect, anyone who thinks this is great southern food has never had great southern food.

If in High Point a must stop at place to eat. The food and service were top notch. The pickle chips are enough to feed a party of 8. They do give you plenty of food. The chicken fried steak is fork tender and so scrumptious. On my list upon return to High Point.

Food used to be really good here when they first opened. The last couple times we have ordered from here the food has been bad. We ordered mozzarella sticks and they gave us one stick that was just fried dough NO cheese, another time we got burgers they were very underwhelming, tonight we got salads to go, the chicken on our salads is SO dry it’s hard to cut and hard to chew. Very disappointed, wondering if they have changed chefs?…they need some work.

Great little scratch kitchen place. I had the Country Style Steak Special for $13.99 with Mashed Potatoes, Gravy, Fried Okra and Cornbread. Everything was delicious and I left with a very full belly. The waitress was very nice and attentive. If you're looking for some Southern style comfort food, they have it.

The chicken livers were good, it needs to fried a little less. The potato wedges were way over cooked. The collard greens were not bad at all. The hubby had the chicken fried steak, he loved it.

Waitress was nice and provided many options for first time visit. Service was a little slow when needing to get back to office during lunch break. Food was delicious and portion size was large. I had the chicken strips lunch special. the chicken was very juicy and fries were crispy.

Great country cooking with top notch service! The food was exactly what you would expect....something you might have at a Southern grandma's house. Portions were large, and everything was served hot. The waitress kept an eye on us without being obtrusive, and she was always friendly. Definitely going to be a regular place for us. I had the chicken fried chicken with white gravy, mashed potatoes and green beans. All fantastic. My husband, who is very picky about his vegetables, loved the fried squash and fried okra....I stole about half the squash. It was fantastic! Definitely recommend!

Food is good. The people that work there are friendly. The problem is the price changes from ordering online to ordering in the restaurant. If you advertise a price online it should be the same in person. wings online 15.99, wings at the counter $18. Veggie plate today $7.50 online, $9.60 at the restaurant.. all they have to say is prices haven’t been updated.. they also seem to change depending on who’s working the counter as well. Wont be back.

Great food, amazing service and very nice owners. My first visit (earlier this evening) with two friends and it was THE BEST. Our waitress, Stephanie was so knowledgeable about the menu. I ordered the stuffed shells.....they were the best! Wonderfully prepared with great ricotta cheese, marinara sauce, mozzarella cheese and baked perfectly. The bread stick and bountiful salad with housemade dressing was amazing! The whole experience was so enjoyable. We will be back on Wednesday. ❤️

We used this restaurant to cater to our employee's Christmas lunch. I heard good things about the food. We had chicken and steak with dinner rolls, and they enjoyed the food. Ps. I do not eat meat, so I could not experience this myself, but I am thrilled that my staff did.

My first time visiting this restaurant. Came in from out of town. My church family was there for a members birthday dinner. There were over 50 people in our party, it's not a huge place, but we were comfortable. The food was very good, large portions served, many choices to choose from, and reasonably priced. I had the baby back ribs, tender and fall off the bone good, collard greens, and sweet potato casserole with pecans. The staff was courteous, and friendly. They were a little short staffed that day, but the waitress assigned to our party, Katy, handled it well, she was so efficient it seemed like there were three of her.😊 And she smiled throughout. Everyone enjoyed their meals, even the children, and the atmosphere was good. We will be returning for more meals.

Marinated steak salad was great, dry lemon pepper wings were good but not that lemon peppery, load wedges were very tasty. Service was good. I will be back to try other menu items.

There was a LOT OF FOOD on our plates! Let's just start off by saying that. I had the meatloaf with tomato sauce (which had a sweet tang to it) and it was delish. Sides were homemade Mac n cheese and greens. Couldn't have asked for better sides - the Mac was hot and creamy and the greens seasoned well. My lunch partner had spaghetti and while that may not sound like anything wonderful, it was your basic comfort food with a great tomato sauce. Each meal also came with a parmesan crusted bread stick which was very tasty. Small place, mostly a bar like environment, set off the road, little parking up front, you have to make a SERIOUS left turn when coming in from opposite the light but worth the effort. Service was great!!!
