Made a stop at High Point, NC the Furniture Capital of America to see the World largest chest of drawers & to see a Thomasville replica of a Duncan Phyfe armchair It’s a fun and quick stop to see a couple of huge roadside attaractions ... 🧦👕👚👗 The town is small with not much to do other then these attractions and to see all the beautiful flowers 🌸 🌺

World's Largest Disappointment! We had just finished a business meeting and our new recruit suggested this and he was really excited! My business partner and I thought what the hell? Why not? My summary is as follows: The so-called attraction is located between a small children's daycare center and a run down 90's small business shop upon which further examination made us question whether this was a tourist attraction or a place where I would get bonked and robbed within 5 minutes of visiting. The spectacle of master craftsmanship in furniture design is fake - it's hollow, thick plaster or particle board, nothing is real and the socks aren't even Gucci. Don't waste your time, you are better off gawking at the trees in a local park and wondering how the branches grew in such weird directions! God Blessed Texas and I sure as hell hope he blessed this town because if this is what they expect to draw an actual crowd and drum up business they are screwed. Laughs and memes is the only excitement that this attraction may bring, not even a sign explaining the landmark exists. Have a great day!

To cut up our long drive, we stopped into High Point to see this roadside attraction! And we weren’t disappointed! It definitely is large and, to our surprise, very well looked after! Google review of this location informed us that this was the second variation to the drawers! How cooool!!

Another review for my collection of "superlatives," this is the World's Largest Chest of Drawers. Of course, it belongs here in High Point as it is the capitol of furniture in the Untied States. Remodeled in 1996, this is the new structure. Steel framing and stucco, it stands 38 feet high with simulated brass handles. And it even includes two giant socks as a tribute to High Point's hosiery industry There is plenty of parking nearby and if you're shopping for furniture at one of these many nearby showrooms, check it out.

As a fan of novelty architecture, I was delighted to see this roadside attraction. Sadly there is not really anywhere to park close by, so if you want to take a picture, it has to be done whilst driving by.

This is the second stop of the day. This is what is called the largest chest of drawers. It is located in High Point North Carolina. It appears to be about twentyfive feet high. There is not much trafic on the city stree in front of it so it is easy to take selfies. There is a pair of socks hanging from a drawer. I walked around the side.

It's a cute roadside attraction and it's free to visit. Huge chest to click the photo and keep it for your Greensboro/ Highpoint visit memory, kids love it and get excited. There is free roadside parking just ahead and also before the Chest. You can take a quick stop click that photo and go on your way. Parking is also available in the alley behind Chest but it's not exclusive for this so take a quick break and move on fast.

Our company had a bucket list and this was on it, so we had to go (we've lived in the area for seven years but did not know of this attraction). Very cool! We took our pictures and skedaddled.

Well, it is what it says. Easy to pull behind the place and get pics, unlike the giant highboy a town over, which is behind a corporate gate.

Well, this is a really large chest of drawers. Nicely painted, easy parking right near, not a lot of traffic.

I love kitschy roadside attractions and this one was worth the stop. I wish there weren’t bees around but it was a fun photo op.

Wish it wasn't right on a street because it's not the best place for getting photos but cool none the less. Reminded me of the movie 🎥 "Honey I Shrunk The Kids"

Very neat. The chest is huge and makes you feel tiny. Definitely worth stopping to see if you're nearby. Hats off to the artist.

These are the types of roadside stops I live for. Fun, tell a story, and memorable!

We were towing a vehicle behind us, so we couldn't stop, but it was easy to drive by and take pics. I had read about it in a NC Roadside Attractions book a couple of years ago and we just happened to be driving through the area anyway, so we drove past. Downtown High Point has some cool murals, statues, and architecture, so there are other things to see on your way through, as well.

Almost drove past this gem! Fun exhibit near the Children's Museum.

High Point, North Carolina, is a city that boasts some of the most impressive furniture landmarks in the world. One of them is the World’s Largest Chest of Drawers, a 38-foot-tall structure that pays homage to the city’s furniture industry. It has two giant socks hanging from the drawers, representing the city’s hosiery industry. The structure has been renovated several times over the years. Another one is the Furnitureland South, a massive showroom that features the World’s Largest Highboy, a 85-foot-tall replica of an 18th-century dresser. These are some of the must-visit spots for visitors who want to experience the unique charm and history of High Point.

Awesome roadside America site really quick and easy. Make the stop.

This is a "see only" landmark. Can't do anything with, in or around it, but it's great for taking pictures, and kinda one of a kind thing. The kids loved it.

High Point’s claim to fame! You must check it out, see which socks are falling out of the drawer and snap a photo! There is parking around back.

A fun roadside attraction. You can drive by or park nearby. It looks like a store is attached to the back of the chest but it was closed when we arrived.

Interesting roadside attraction. Worth a look if you are into kichty stuff and happen to be in the area.

It's a GIANT CHEST OF DRAWERS!! How can you not stop here. Nothing to do here unless you are heading for the children's museum that according to the sign is 343 steps to the left😂 But a great photo op. You can try to get yourself grabbing your socks or opening the drawers.

You could park in a small lot right across the street. It was a very large roadside Attraction about the size of an apartment building. Pretty cool!! (Love the socks)

  • 5/5 Keshia H. 1 year ago on Google
A nice structure to represent some of the fine furniture produced in the area.

Was driving through the area and decided to stop by. I was not Disappointed. This chest of drawers is huge!

Much larger than I imagined and worth the stop for a picture. My friend found out I was here (from Georgia) and recommended I stop. Glad she did!
