it was absolutely great. You can take pictures of what you want and also shoot after the dolphin program. You must not have a phone or camera with you during the program. It's so you don't hurt the dolphins. so you depend on their photographer and cameraman. The price is not so tragic $ 80 for photos and video. You will get all the photos you are on. The video is common, so the others will be in the footage as well. If you want a photo with a lion, you have to pay another $ 15. A set of photos and videos costs $ 80 per head, which means that if you want photos where you and your partner are or you have photos together, you have to pay $ 150. That's why I recommend taking pictures of yourself when you have a bunch of your photos, your counterpart will sometimes also pay a joint check for two heads and you will pay $ 150 and you will get, for example, 90 to 100 photos. You will receive a website and a password where you can download photos within 15 days. There is also a souvenir shop where prices are very favorable. Food is not included here but the menu is between $ 12 and $ 15. You can easily record and take pictures of the show with the parrot ma or lovoun. You can take beautiful photos of the beach.

They very conveniently let you know after you pay the entrance fee that you're not allowed to take your own photos, but it's not mentioned beforehand or posted where you buy the tickets. Cost for the experience for two people is over $300, quoted price of the photos for two people is $210. The first time I learned that I wasn't allowed to take photos was about 50 yards into the park after I paid. To top it all off, they ripped me off on the exchange rate even though I was paying in Dominican Pesos. If you still decide to go, don't accept their first price offered on the photos, they'll negotiate down in price.

Me and my girlfriend stayed at Radisson blue hotel and went here. I absolutely love this place ! Probably the most amazing experience of our lives, it felt amazing to interact with these beautiful creatures and the experience was in no way rushed. We really got our money's worth and I'll never forget this amazing experience. The instructor was brilliant, very clear with instructions and very friendly. thankyou dolphin explorer

The dolphins were awesome and I got kissed by a sea lion. We paid about 300$ for two of us to go. They would not let us take our phones and they have no exotic pictures with two of us (my wife and I) they take all the photos separately so we have to buy more photos and don’t just buy the “one” that we both are in. They wanted to charge us 190$ for all the pictures and videos. We ended up paying $150 for just the photos and we had to pay 45 extra dollars for the pictures with the sea lion because those pictures were not included. They scam you into paying for them since they hold sentimental value to some. It is absolutely outrageous and I would NOT go again for that reason. Loved the dolphins, hate the price for pictures

Mostly exploitative, the people selling the high price attraction fail to tell you that you cannot take photos and you can only buy the photos they sell at outrageous prices per person. Photos for a family of 4 can easily be $300 to $400 dollars. And that pricing is only with the dolphins (The birds, and sea lion pics not included) The swimming experience was kind of okay though. Then after you are quickly done they have you wait near the gift shop for an hour and a half for your ride back to your resort. I just ordered a Uber instead 🤷🏿‍♂️.

I really enjoyed my time at Dolphin Explorer, the experience was amazing! It was a little pricey for the amount of interaction time. I think if they had smaller group sizes it would be better but it's still worth it. They do get you on the pictures a little bit, you have to get a package, not just one or two pictures with the dolphins. I definitely recommend going if you love animals and have always wanted to swim with dolphins.

It is always nice to see dolphins. I am on the fence about this type of activity. I don’t like the dolphins in captivity but since they are I allowed my son and his friend to participate which is a very unique experience that one does not forget. That being said. They do a good job with the training and the instructors seem to care for the dolphins and treat them good. My biggest issue was the photos. The staff take all the photos and at the end it’s over 200$ usd for the whole package. That does not include the pictures with the sea lion. The video includes the whole group you were with as well. They do offer individual pictures for 15$ each. The food is not bad and there is also a small gift shop. Staff don’t speak much English so be prepared for that.

It was the best experience we ever done. The dolphins are really friendly, the trainer is friendly and helpful. You can dance play and sing with the dolphins. We have done the most expensive package but is all worth the money. At the end you can buy all the photos (about 80) and the video for $150 a little bit expensive but they're in a good quality Highly recommended

You are literally forced to have photos taken, but you are not allowed to bring or take a camera with you! In the end you should pay several hundred euros for the pictures. Not recommended, tourist rip off!

OMG AMAZING!! Great price 4wat uget, I was a spectator (as I'm disabled) with wifey &son in water with dolphins, I was told I wouldn't b able 2c dolphins but I saw everything! Gift &food shops GREAT value money, pics a little expensive but we definitely think it was worth every dollar we spent!! The experience is all about taking pictures, and pictures taken by them that you have to purchase at a very exorbitant price at the end if you want them. They go one by one in the group you are and make you pose either kissing or touching the dolphin while they take a picture and then the next person go. You also get to be pulled by the dolphin 2 short opportunities. To then at the end, sell you those pictures for a very expensive price... I was looking to have a real experience where they will talk about the dolphins they have and kind of let you touch them and swim around them, something more natural and not just smile for the picture and that's it kind of thing. They can do a lot better for having so many dolphins and people working there, and specially given the price just to go in.

My friend was doing this activity to swim with the dolphins and paid 155 usd for it. I was accompagnying him and paid 50usd to be a spectator. At our arrival, they told us to wait about 100m away from where my friend was swimming with the dolphins, this was we're not able to take our own pictures, even though there was lots of space for them to swim in front of us or for us to be on the platform next to them. They then proceed to ask for extortionate prices for the pictures and videos they take. Which you're obviously going to buy because you're not going to swim with dolphins everyday in your life and they force you to not be able to take pictures. Everyone else who was a spectator was also complaining. You pay 50usd to do nothing with no chairs under the heat and see nothing.

It was so much fun. The Foot Push was worth the extra money. As with any excursion, the photo package will cost. But it is a once in a lifetime experience. Just be prepared.

Great experience. Ability to swim is necessary to enjoy the full experience. Pictures sold afterward are extremely expensive, $$$. Kinda have no choice since you are prevented from bringing cell phones. Price is based on how many people are in a party. Video is of everyone, so not specific to your group. Suggest joining in with other groups to buy video. All in all, it was a great time with the ocean wildlife.

I would not recommend this place to anybody and here are the reasons. 1-The bus driver and instructors do not pick you up on time and the organization is not great. 2- The price for the photos are from another planet $80 for 1 person and $150 for 2 people etc plus you have to pay extra if you want additional photos. I consider this to be insane. 3- Price for a water $2 and a beer is $6 like really the most expensive price on the planet. 4- The bar food is expensive and horrible they give you potato chips instead of french fries 😂😂😂 this is a joke right? 5- only a few people are friendly and helpful. Before I leave a negative feedback I always find 5 different bad thing about the place so it is 1 star per experience. This place had it all. There are other places to consider please try to avoid this place at all cost. I would not take anybody to this place.😡😡😡

This place is nice. But make sure your photographer is a normal person. We were a group of 30 people and he didn't take nice pictures and we paid $110 per person. For the Dominican Republic, that's a lot considering they work for $200 a month. Other than that everything else was fine. And you can't complain or say something first they can't speak English second they don't care.

The dolphin experience itself is a wonderful time. The guides are friendly and ensure you get plenty of time to interact with the dolphins. The issue is how long they extended the length of time we were required to be off our all inclusive resort. We finished with the dolphins around 11:30 but we're told we couldn't get the bus back until 1:40. We were forced to wait at their bar for several hours with nothing to eat but overpriced food. ($13 for a hot dog). It would have been so much better if we could have left right away and made it back to the resort with better food that was already prepaid for.

I loved the experience. The people here do their best to make you feel welcomed and have the best of times you can get for your money. Staff is very knowledgeable and willing to engage with visitors and answer all kind of questions. Congratulations to you all!

The staffs are rude including management. You don't get what you paid for. I did swimming with Dolphins in Jamaica and it was a great experience. The trainers were in the water assisting you if you are poor swimmer. At Dolphin Explorer you are on your own. No assistance even when you asked for it. My 6 year old niece needed assistance and they refused. Therefore, she was not able to swim with the Dolphin even though we paid full price for it. When I purchased my ticket. I was given a time when I will be returned to the resort. However, Dolphin Explorer did not honor that. I told them I had an appointment and would like to be returned to the resort like I was told. They could careless. I was transported back to the resort 1.5 hours later after the initial time. The manager did not want to give me his name and he walked off whilst I was expressing to him that I needed to be back at the resort for my appointment.

Great experience however photos are expensive. 40$ for one picture. As a family of 4 with no group pictures taken it works out very expensive.

Great experience, but overpriced. I wanted a unique experience for my family while in Punta Cana and this was extremely close to our resort and highly recommended by staff at the resort. Swimming and interacting with the dolphins was amazing and trainers did a great job. But weren't allowed to take any photos and the photo packages they offer were extremely expensive, over $250 for a link to my photos. I've done plenty of other excursions where you can take photos of you own and at the end pay for the "professional"ones but never at that price. Would expect $50-$150 depending and quality and qty.

"Hurry up and wait", is the theme here. Takes like 4 hours for minutes of actual personal dolphin time. Prices are not even close to being reasonable. They wanted $210 USD for pictures for 3 of us. The dolphin part was good, neat experience, but not worth the cost or the time required. Water was not the blue in the pictures, more like a swampy pond, however they probably don't have control of that. 2 star is being generous Imo.

  • 3/5 Chelsey T. 9 months ago on Google
This was a really fun and neat experience. The trainer was a lot of fun to watch interact with the dolphins. However, this place is outrageous with what they charge for everything. The basic picture packet for the two of us was $150 U.S. dollars and that didn't include the pictures taken with the birds or the sea lion; those were all additional fees. We bought our passes through the resort ($300 for two people for approx 50 minutes in the water), but we still had to stand in line when we got there and we were in line behind many people who didn't already have their passes, so it took approx 45 minutes to get through the line to get our wristbands.

Awesome excursion! Nice facility. Friendly staff and trainers. Definitely worth it! Purchase the swim with the dolphins upgraded package. One note thou, the pictures are expensive, $15. per frame prior to hitting the water and $210. for the package for all the in water adventures. Do not use credit cards! They increase the exchange from 54 to 56 and you get a foreign exchange rate fee on your statement. Pay in pesos only to get the best deal. Otherwise a fantastic visit!

  • 2/5 Oliver R. 10 months ago on Google
I fully understand and respect the excursion but upon arrival going through the process with photos of parrots and sea lion , was time consuming. Then wearing a life jacket and spending too much time out of the water in tremendous heat was unexpected. Considering people like us are not used to the heat and humidity.. More time is needed in the water.

  • 5/5 Rich V. 8 months ago on Google
This place was so awesome. My daughter checked off an item on her bucket list and had the opportunity to swim with dolphins and she couldn’t be any happier. The trainers were so awesome and what I loved about this place. The most is that they were in the ocean not a pool like some places, so it made me feel better about how the dolphins are treated.

  • 2/5 Mark M. 9 months ago on Google
Paid in as a spectator to watch my family swim with dolphins. They enjoyed the experience however I was kept so far away I didn't see anything they did and was bored ridged. I wouldn't have bothered wasting the day if I had known. Also 40 bucks for 1 digital photograph is daylight robbery.

This was an absolutely brilliant experience i had wife my wife on our honeymoon. It was an experience that we both had on our bucket list to do in our lifetime. The dolphins were wonderful, such loving mammals, and once they looked you in the eyes it felt like they looked into your soul. The staff and trainers were amazing, pleasant and so helpful and funny. Carlos at the Impressive Punta Cana Hotel, the resort we stayed at, sorted it all out for us with the help of his brother Alberto. Thanks again guys for this amazing experience. 😁⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

  • 5/5 Amanda R. 10 months ago on Google
This was 2nd time swimming with the dolphins (not the same place) but this was amazing trip. We got to do a tons of different tricks with the dolphins, pet them and learn about them. Our trainer was awesome too. Definitely recommend. We did the dolphin excellence experience, paid more but so worth it. We got lucky and had no one in our group with us.

  • 3/5 Melissa D. 6 months ago on Google
Booked through our hotel. We choose a midrange package for the dolphin encounter experience. They let us know ahead of time we would not be able to bring out phones to take photos (which makes sense, logistically). You have the chance to have your photo taken with a seal. It’s $15 extra. You pay for all photos and video of your family. Cannot pick and choose just a few. There were a lot of photos and they were good photos but pricey. $260 for 4 people (different prices for number of people). It wasn’t explained when we booked how long it takes either - we arrived at 1 but weren’t able to leave until 4:40 as their shuttle times were preset. There is some food and snacks for purchase.

  • 3/5 Clover L. 8 months ago on Google
I gave it a three because although the dolphins experience was amazing and we had a ton of fun, they were very strict about no cell phone pictures. Then at the end they wanted $150 for pictures and a video. And then another $15 per picture of macaws and a seal. The macaws they don't even warn you like 1,2,3 smile.. nothing they just snap and go, Like an assembly line. We paid $220 to go on this excursion and then couldn't take our own pictures so if my husband and I wanted pictures of any of it we had to buy what they had.

  • 4/5 Marco R. 8 months ago on Google
The experience was amazing. The dolphins were cute and fun to swim with. The biggest downfall is the prices for the pictures. Very "gougy" for tourists. $100 USD for 2 people for the pictures. An extra $50 for a video. That doesn't include the picture with the sea lions and the parrots either. And picking pictures individually isn't much of a price difference, so you're kinda forced to pay for the package. Overall, it was a great experience. Definitely recommend coming out here. Staff is very nice and they walk through everything.

  • 5/5 Vanessa L. 5 months ago on Google
Exceptional experience. We had two dolphins and I had no idea how cool this would be. The dolphins seemed like they were enjoying interacting with us and the photographers were careful to get great shots. The pics are extra but worth it

  • 5/5 Athina N. 5 months ago on Google
One of the best experiences of my life , amazing encounter with the Dolphins. We done the excellence package for the full experience. 50 minutes to 1 hour with 2 x Dolphins. Groups are small (up to 10 people) to ensire everyone gets time with the dolphins. Staff were brilliant and friendly, would definitely recommend and would definitely do it all again !

  • 5/5 Mario B. 2 years ago on Google
Great experience swimming with dolphins! Was impressed by dolphin trainers and how happy dolphins are. The small minus is that they bother you all the time taking photos which they later on want to sell for crazy amount of money. Besides this, amazing!

  • 4/5 Many_plants_one_pot 2 years ago on Google
Interacting with the dolphins is amazing though they usher you around for a few hours until they can get all the pics to sell you. The guys did pride themselves on getting great photographs and even during a stormy day they managed some fantastic one's. A bit expensive to purchase but the experience is worth it.

We paid about $400 for two people to have the Excellence Package which includes swimming/activities with TWO dolphins. This was a GREAT, GREAT, GREAT experience. Literally had best time. I highly recommend getting the excellence package because this really increases the breath of experience. In terms of pictures, I get what people are saying about not being able to take your camera. But honestly, the way it is set up in the water, you really should not be taking your camera because when you do activity esp as couple you BOTH are in the water so who will take the picture?! So people stop complaining. Also, the person taking your picture has camera that is specialized for multiple pixs and quality which you cannot always do on camera Iphone. So here is the cost of picture $150 for photos and a customized video w. dolphin for two people and $15 each for pix with parrots and 2 sea lion pix = total of $195. I would say the $195 we spent for all the 119 photos and 1, 8-minute video was well worth it. The drawback was they used 1 dollar = 59 peso conversion! When the current conversion is 1 dollar for 57 peso. This would make me give it a lower rating but because we had such a great experience with the dolphins, I can overlook that conversion rate.

  • 5/5 Mario M. 2 years ago on Google
Absolutely amazing time! Firstly, I tend to get seasick, so not having to take a boat to get to the dolphins was amazing. My group only had six people so we got to spend a ton of time with a pair of dolphins. Would absolutely recommend this to everyone coming out to Punta Cana. The excellence package is worth it.

  • 3/5 Peter D. 2 years ago on Google
Dophins were great, of course. Pity there was not more time with them. It is really just a big photo shoot with a big price tag at the end, on top of the price paid for the tour. You can't bring your own camera so the photos are not really optional. Other side shows are a bit disappointing.

  • 2/5 Ruxandra E. 2 years ago on Google
The experience with dolphins is close to ok, even if you're sold 50 minutes of dolphin swimming you will get 2-3 minutes swimming and the rest of the times staying on the edge of the pool to wait for the other people in the group to do their 2-3 minutes and take their 40-dollars pictures. And when you finish you have to wait 2 more hours before the bus for the hotel leaves. Horrible.

  • 2/5 Daniel B. 10 months ago on Google
Very unorganized. We felt left waiting several times without knowing who or what we were waiting for. We were not allowed to take pictures, then the whole experience was about a photographer taking pictures of us, one at a time interacting with a dolphin to later try to sell the pictures to us. In our case looking for more than $500 USD. No option of picking only some pictures to lower the price. This could have been so much different by making the experience about the dolphins, their training, questions and answers along with the interactions. We were left disappointed.

Own food and drinks not forbidden. Stay at the beach as long as open possible and recomnended.

  • 4/5 Jessica B. 2 years ago on Google
This was a great experience but for the price 1 picture should be included to take home not an extra $39 & for them not to print it there & send a link we were unsure we would even get it!

  • 5/5 Dharna R. 2 years ago on Google
It is so worth going here, I had so much fun. They shot a video and take pics for you, which u can purchase after the day is done. There is also a seal and bird show included in the package. You don't get any food, so bring snacks. Also it really helps if you know how to swim, because you have to do the activities by yourself, however you are provided a life jacket. So if u don't its not that big of a deal.

  • 4/5 TruthandJustice 1 year ago on Google
Dolphin Explorer has a great staff that make the experience fun. Besides the main attraction, you get to feed parakeets, which was a lot of fun. They also have a short sea lion presentation, which was rather sad. We felt so bad for the sea lion. Be aware you are not allowed to take any pictures with the dolphins. You have to buy their photo packages which for us was $150 for our two kids, but you get all of the pictures plus a video. They even took some family pictures. Overall we enjoyed it, but be prepared for the price tag.

  • 5/5 Debra G. 2 years ago on Google
I couldn't swim and the staff was very calming patient and great at their job. I loved the dolphins. The photos are very expressive though which was disheartening.

  • 5/5 Daniel B. 2 years ago on Google
Lots of fun for first timers. Dolphins are gentle and very well trained. Trainers/ Handlers are fun, funny and seem to have a good connection to their dolphins. A 3 year old boy in our group was, at first, scared but even he rode the dolphin solo without a problem. Photo and video memories were expensive like all of these types of tourist excursions. Tshirts and other souvenir items were surprisingly inexpensive!

  • 5/5 Nikki C. 2 years ago on Google
Dolphin trainer Niki was amazing on our program! We had a fantastic time - my husband and his son (7) really enjoyed it too!

  • 4/5 steve c. 1 year ago on Google
Brilliant dolphin experience, only marred by the constant need of the staff to have you look at the camera for every interaction. As you will come to expect as a tourist everything is a sales pitch and they want you to buy the upgrades and buy the photos, but the actual time spent with the Dolphins made this an acceptable price to pay. overall a good few hours out of the resort.

Omg. Those poor Dolphins I feel for them this is a super scam we paid $870 Canadian to see dolphins That's not including alcohol drinks or food. Also an additional $270 American for the photos and the uplink for digital pictures it was myself my wife and two little girls. I took out my camera and started snapping pictures of the Dolphins but soon as my kids got involved I thought I was going to get killed in Dominican Republic. This is such a scam we ended up paying $870 Canadian and we didn't get to take any of our photos and her memories with us who is the most disappointing thing I've done in a long time I don't know how many of my money back and I probably never will don't do it. This was my 1 pic with my little girls.
