I would like to start with check in took us 3 hours and on top of that we had to wait an extra hour because our room wasn’t ready. The room itself was decent not too horrible, the housekeeping only came once to my room and never restocked our fridge, we asked for an extra pillow and blanket and never got them. The beach and pool is amazing that was the only good thing from this trip. The buffets don’t even get me started horrible food the meat taste funny, and whatever I ate had me sick for 4 days in my room, and the waiters don’t bring the drinks like they’re supposed to. I’m really curious on how they cook their meats because I’ve never got this sick from. Never coming back here again and I don’t recommend this place to anyone!!

Absolute worse hotel I have ever stayed at! I have never experienced such poor customer service in my life. The staff was rude, unhelpful, and just outright disrespectful. The person who checked us in did not want to answer a single question. Our washroom was flooded due to a huge leakage in the sealing and it was never fixed and we never got another room. I had to clean the floor every time we entered the room because it was so wet we slipped multiple times. When trying to make a reservation at the restaurants we were told that we should have reserved a month in advanced if we really wanted to go (even though the website says reserve upon arrival). The entertainment staff was drunk and made racist comments towards my family. I was catcalled by the staff every single day. The person at the teen club asked us to bring him coffee every time we tried to use the Ping-Pong table. The waiters took at least 45 min to bring a glass of water to our table and don't even get me started on the two hour wait time at every single restaurants (the only restaurant with actual friendly service is the Asian one). Oh and of you want something from the pool bar you better be ready to wait in a huge line every single time. You will not be able to relax here, it is a mess.

The resort is very big and it’s not that ugly, but the customer service sucks. Since the moment we arrived the staff has been very rude to each and everyone of us. Room service is a waste of time, they never pick up the phone. If you need something fixed in the room (air conditioning; hot water) don’t even bother calling the front desk. They’ll pick up the first time, but never pick up again. The water served at restaurants is warm, it takes forever for them to bring you anything you ask for. We were a group of over 20 family members and no one is pleased with the service received. There are no plates for guests to serve their food after a certain time, sometimes we asked for water and juice and they would say they don’t have any. Rooms are also very outdated and smell very weird. Terrible, terrible customer service. 100% do not recommend! Don’t waste your time and money Coming here.

I choose Bahia Principe because I booked through Cheap Caribbean and the resort had a 5 start rating. It was my son’s 13 Birthday and he choose Punta Cana so I figured this was a great place to spend his birthday. Upon arrival, the wait to check in was longer than 4 hours. I was alone with 3 children, one being 7 years old so you can only imagine. The very next day, my son woke up bitten all over (Bed Bugs)! On his actual birthday he was all bitten by bed bugs. I complained to front desk (Johny was his name), I received the worse customer service ever! He had no sympathy, no customer service skills, he was rude, and told me that in order for him to make room changes, I had to take my son to the emergency room to determine if in facts, it was bed bugs (which I had to pay an extra fee for it) and he can then assign us a different room. After I showed him videos and picture of the actual bugs and blood all over the sheets, he decide to move us (took him 5 hours, and was knocking on my door at 11pm). The food was horrible, it was cold, poor variety, my kids got sick to their stomach. One of the employees went as far as telling us to get a detox when we get back home. The pools were dirty, multiple cups floating around the pool. The amount of mosquitoes in the room went beyond my understanding. I called for room service 3 times because they couldn’t get someone to fumigate the room on time. I spent 4 days and not once room service came to clean our room. Fridge was broken. It was the hell! I ended up spending $1,600 on the next flight and left sooner because I couldn’t take it anymore. Never again!

2 hours to check in reception staff useless. They double booked us so my wife and me had no room. Moved to another not been cleaned urine stains over the toilet fan and fridge didn't work. Complained and was told to wait and it would be sorted. An hour later it wasn't sorted. Next day moved to another room was told it would be the first to be cleaned. It wasn't. We were told the room fridge would be refilled Beverly day guess what - it wasn't. Pool bar staff atrocious my wife and I went to a bar we were the only ones there 4 staff behind the bar. No one bothered with us. A Spanish lady came to the bar she was served immediately. If you speak Spanish you'll be fine at this hotel. If you don't forget it probably the worst hotel I've ever been to. Save your money go to Cuba far better service or go to a different hotel in Dominican

wifi SUCKS it might as well be nonexistent. everything is pretty far unless you get lucky and are staying in a room next to the pool or lobby you’re going to have to walk blocks if not wait for the cars that pick u up but they take so long by the time they come you would’ve already been at the place if you had gone walking. alcohol is very watered down. rooms are old and don’t even have the simple stuff like a damn sign that says do not disturb. do not recommend at all!

So sad because last time we where here we loved it but man has the service gone down hill i don't know if it is because of the new trainees but even non trainees we're off there game. The part that really disappointed me was when I fell and scraped both knees we asked for some alcohol and bandages and no one would help sent me to 4 different employees and not one ask if i was ok mean while both of my knees were dripping blood. The guest relations person only wanted to make sure we were not going to sue and wanted me to go all the was to the other resort to fill out a report before being able to get me bandages. It really sucked. We really like the amenities but don't know if we want to come back. 😢

First of all, all of the 5 star reviews are not true. The only reason this place has 5 star reviews is because staff pester guests during nightly entertainment shows to leave 5 star Google reviews in order to have their names entered in a raffle after the show. We have been very disappointed in this resort. So far our worst experience and we have traveled to about 10 different resorts. Checking in was a nightmare the line was a few hours long and as they were helping us they were helping other people budding us. None of the staff are competent. We later realized it was people coming to complain about all of the issues at the resort because they do not pick up the phones. The staff are very unfriendly and unhelpful. They make you feel like you are bothering them from simply asking for a drink. This has been our first experience of unfriendly rude staff, every other resort we’ve been to the people were wonderful. None of them speak English. They only want to help and speak to those who speak Spanish. I was waiting in line to get pasta and someone budded to the front of the line and gave the cook a tip and he made him pasta right away. You will only be helped happily if you tip every single person beforehand. The rooms are dirty and outdated. Our bedding was clearly dirty and not changed before we arrived. They missed our room cleaning 4 times. They took our dirty towels we put on the floor that we wanted changed and they hung them back up for us instead of giving us clean ones. Lots of mosquitoes in our room, we had several bites on us. The buffet absolutely reaks of mold and wet towels as soon as you walk in. To the point where we could not eat there. It’s the worst smell we’ve ever experienced. The food is mediocre, nothing special and often times cold. And breakfast and lunch is the exact same every single day, no variation. It was impossible to get a reservation for restaurants until we made a huge fuss because of the horrible smell in the buffet and said we felt sick. When we went to guest services to complain about the issues, the lady was extremely rude and unhelpful. She told us this “our problem”. We will be writing west jet a letter because we don’t know what else to do at this point. And we will never return after this experience.

Where do I even start. First off , we get here took about 45 mins check in when their was 2 people in front of us , the staff at the front desk was rude. I came on vacation with my girlfriend witch we are both 18 years old the staff would make comments about my girlfriend(her body). We both got food poisoning with in the first 2 days. We tried calling the resort doctor 5 Times no answer , called the front desk to ask for to speak to someone, lady said theirs noting they could do and hung up the phone. Rooms were very dirty bugs, hair in the bathroom very disgusting. We called for room service to bring us towels to shower. 2 hours past no one showed up. Staff is very very slow need better training on how to treat customers. Very disappointed in this resort would never come back.

okay so I would like to start off with our good experiences and that actually comes down to 4 people, Ysabel, Alba and the two day time bartenders (sorry i cant remember their names) were absolutely fantastic care about their jobs and the guests... the rest of the Lobby service staff was terrible they would walk by the table and not even give a second glance at empty glasses or full ash trays so lets start at the beginning when we checked in our room keys did not work the bell boy had to let us into our room, another person showed up with new keys and surprise, surprise they did not work again so someone else showed up to fix the problem all together this took about 3hours to resolve.. A few days later we went to go into our room after breakfast and our key cards no longer worked so we went down to the lobby to get the problem fixed and that took all day thankfully house keeping had already been in our room and as she always left our patio door unlocked we were able to access our room that way but we lost and entire day waiting for someone to come fix the door and when they did we were not informed... The buffet was horrible food was either under cooked or way over cooked and always cold not matter what meal it was and the service was always terrible . The Al a Carts were extremely disappointing and the service was terrible with the exception of the Greek and the Japanese. The snack bar sucked completely food was not good and the service sucked.. The mini bar in the room (if you can even call it that) had a few pop 2 beer and like 4 bottles of water.. we had to pay everyday to get extra water if they even provided it. house keeping was the worst i have ever seen. sheets were not changed for 4 days and i had to request that they get changed and that didn't happen with out a bit of a fight. bathroom was never actually cleaned the one day there was a long black hair in the tub neither of us have long hair. The bathtub was not sealed properly and after a shower there was water pooled all over the floor. some days we would get a bath mat others we would not.. The pillows on the bed sucked completely we requested new ones and never received them.

Originally the check in service went smooth when first arriving at the resort. Once checked in at approximately 3:30pm we were taken to our rooms and the first incident was the room keys given were not working and unable to get into the room. Once that was resolved our room had absolutely not amenities meaning towels, toiletries or comforters and sheets on the bed. The a/c rarely worked with the ceiling fan almost about to crash and fall on us. Some of the electrical lights did not work as well. Once requested the toiletries, towels, and bed sheets it took almost 2 hours for service to deliver. Had to call using the room phone 3 times along with having to go to the front desk. Once that issue was resolved two more times that evening our room keys were not working and had to go back to front desk. The very second day at the resort we had problems with the room keys yet again a total of 4 times that day of going back and forth getting new ones. The front desk stated it was the lock itself that needed new batteries and were sending a repair person. The repair person came to the room and said the lock is fine and stated it was the keys so no one was able to resolve the issue so on the third day had to get a key replacement yet again. On the third day besides our room issues the couple vacationing with us had issues very similar to us. The front desk supervisor stated he was upgrading and changing our rooms due to the inconveniences. We had to wait a total of three and a half hours just to get a room change and upgrade to what was said to be VIP access. Besides it taking so long to do so once in the new room they put us in the same exact style room with very similar issues yet again. Only this time the dresser furniture had crawling around what looked to be termites all on the furniture. Absolutely unacceptable with the change and was not accommodated one bit with everything going on and the issues we faced. My fiancé and myself along with the other couple vacationing with us all got sick from the food served at the buffet. When the website states all inclusive it is but very vague. Only allowed 2 restaurant reservations for a 6 day stay which means it was buffet every night. Beverage choices were not all inclusive to where if you wanted certain adult drinks there were extra and additional charges. We were originally looking at this resort to inquire about hosting our wedding but the the issues and food problems absolutely not. It’s very unfortunate and upsetting with how the resort was from seeing prior reviews. I would not recommend anyone to visit and if future guests do I hope your stay isn’t like how ours was.

    1. First of all, I want to say Amstar Transportation is amazing. 2. The resort staff hardly speak English. It was very hard to have a conversation. Even the reception area. I was using Google translate to communicate with them. 3. Food is horrible, chicken was dry, no matter what food we tried, it was dried out, or half cooked. Pizza, don't even try. Choices for kids are very limited when it comes to food. 4. Using the app to get room service is great, I would advice. 5. Getting restaurant reservations was nightmare. They couldn't get one reservation right. 6. Since the resort is so big, it requires transportation, the drivers for the transportation were rude, don't speak English, and would randomly make their favorite to comply where they want to stop. Few times, evening we had sleeping toddler, they wouldn't stop on the stop and refused to stop to let us get off near the room. 8. No food options near pool. 9. Pool area dirty, stinks when water has been sitting in grassy area for over period of time. 10. Water down drinks. No matter how many drinks you have, you just don't have a buzz 11. Limited drink choices 12. Beaches had seaweed, could barely sit there due to smell. 13. Good luck finding a spot on pool for chairs 14. Same entertainment everyday, lobby live singing. 15. No taste to food, same run down food everyday 16. Beware of trying to sell timeshare 17. Casino is fun at night 18. Very rude staff around kids play area 19. Pool area entertainment is good 20. Italian restaurant was amazing, loved the staff there 21. Bathroom Shower heads just didn't work. It's half covered door, so using hand held shower led to water all over the bathroom.

The experience we had hotel is not a good to us we were 5 people 1. In the room too many stilts’ walkers, never exterminated the room while we were there 2. No cars allowed in the hotel guest must go to the front of the hotel, always an issue to get a ride to the entrance of the hotel, and attitude from the employers 3. No room services 4. Dirty bathtubs 5. Sheets were dirty 6. When calling any extension to get assistance no answer 7. Must say that most of the employers had attitude, poor customer service 8. The buffet was horrible, food was not even prepared correctly 9. Not enough staff for such a big resort

Pros: beautiful beach, large pool & water park for kids. The shuttle service was great as the resort is very large. Friendly staff. Cons: The bugs!! We had to move rooms due to the amount of mosquitoes in our first room. Cockroaches all over the resort, including one in the bathroom and a dead one on the balcony. The hotel could have been much cleaner. Also, most of the staff only spoke Spanish which caused quite a barrier. Overall 2/5. It’s not terrible for the price, especially since the beach is beautiful. But I would not come back. Take it from me, pay the extra money for a nicer (and cleaner) resort.

Check-in was very slow and didn’t have recognizable waiting lines. We were waiting in line to check in and other guest would walk up to counter and cut line. At check in did not receive towel card (was not informed we needed one) had to go back next day after being told at the pool we needed one. And then only 1 towel per pool card. We had 3 people in party and was only given 2 towel cards. Everyday at least 1 of the room keys would not work. Had to visit the front desk everyday to get another key. We had 3 people in our party, first day they only had towels for 2 people and no wash cloths. They did not automatically have wash cloths in room bathroom which I have never experienced at any hotel or resort. Everyday we had to ask for wash cloths but had to go to front desk to request. We constantly had to ask them for clean towels and enough for 3 people. Our room was clean the first day we arrived and cleaned the next day but did not get cleaned the rest of the 3 days we were there. We even asked housekeeping and she states she was about to get off but would make a note in system but no one came to clean the room. The bathroom vent didn’t work. Outside balcony had ants all over and we couldn’t sit outside. The Grille which was an al-la-cart was a steak house but definitely didn’t meet expectations. My son steak was so tough, my vegetables came out cold, just really not worth it been better off at the buffet. The resort itself was very beautiful and had plenty to do, just service was not on point. Even at the buffet slow service would have to wait on just water! The look of the resort and the reputation it has, I expected much more out of the service and rooms.

Let me first start off with bad… Checkin time takes too long. The reception gives a lot of information but says nothing if this makes sense. Rooms are definitely outdated and need sprucing up. Especially the bathroom. No one likes doing a slip and slide in the tub. Upon arrival our refrigerator was broken, air conditioner dripping, and the shower didn’t work. The refrigerator and bathroom got switched/fixed the air worked properly on our last night. Smh..the buffet was cold the other reviews were correct..they have to figure something out there plus it’s all the same things. In a buffet I’m not sure how you would change that but the food could be hot..hot..hot… Now for the good.. All the employees were fabulous. Entertainment was great..pool side and at night..the restaurants were yummy (food was hot and tasty) grounds beautifully kept. Drinks were good..

We found this place to be extraordinary all around. Great food. Outstanding service. Every need catered to. Beautiful beach. Entertaining shows. We stayed for a week and could have stayed for a month. Weather is delightful. Pro Tip: we think the swim up room is worth every penny, BUT the "corner" swim up room's only real upgrade is having a tub. Your call if that's worth the extra 20 dollars or so more per night. Book your 'a la Carte' restaurant reservations early... like upon arrival or sooner. Our 2 favorites were Limbo and MEAT. We will come back.

The resort is beautiful. Everything is very clean and well maintained. The food and drink selection is great. The beach is very nice (however there was tons of seaweed on the sand and in the water, at least in July). The only real bad thing we noticed is the service in the dining room was so-so. Barbara was our absolute favourite server in the lobby bar! And Fabio was our absolute favourite entertainer! We'd definitely come back!

I was very surprised how good the food was in the buffet restaurant. Excellent selection and service. The hotel is massive plenty of different restaurants 7 where you can eat for special nights out. Entertainment crew day time around the pool keeps you entertained with plenty to do. The hotel goes right down to the beach which is very Caribbean palm trees white sand and a beach bar if you require a drink. Can't believe the bad reviews we saw before coming.

Our stay was everything and more that I could have expected. There was 4 adults and my 8 month old. And every detail of this vacation for all of us was perfect. I was nervous at first from the negative reviews but absolutely none of them were true for us. The whole resort was immaculately clean, the staff were the nicest people ever (& my son LOVED all the attention and love they gave him), food was great, beach and pools were amazing. We are seasoned travelers so we know good places and this was definitely top of the charts. If you are wondering whether to book- this is your sign to do it!

Great vacation 5/5. Food was great. Wide variety and flavourful. Deserts were over the top. Housekeeping was excellent. The evening entertainment was great although the volume in the theatre was too loud as it distorted the show. The only comment we would have - the front counter clerks are excellent. There just needs to be more of them on duty to handle the rush. ( long lineups for service in this type of resort are not acceptable)

***Attention*** I am warning you to not stay at this hotel. I have more downs than anything. The Bell boy did not accept the tip did not want to leave until we gave him more which we did. There were bugs all in my room. There was not a washcloth. There was a leak in my bathroom. These rooms need remodeled years ago. Everything closes early. The bar closes at 7pm. On the day of our arrival, there was no option to reserve a reservation for a restaurant the day of or the day after. The manager tried to move us to another resort and he lied and said there are no rooms available. We checked behind him and there were. He said that they don't have the rooms but the third-party bookings have the room. Make it make sense. How if it is your resort can you not trump them. I am glad that I am leaving this place. It is a waste of money. You will not enjoy this resort. I am warning you do not book here. Im from DC, USA and I could have stayed in a local hotel for a better experience then this.

Erma and her staff were very helpful. For the most part all the workers are very helpful and generous throughout the resort. Others are not very willing to help. But they were all good people. I’ve had a wonderful stay food was 8/10. Amenities 10/10. I would recommend a stay here. The beach is very nice as well ! Be careful with the mosquitoes !!

I honestly don't even know where to begin. I was worried about booking this trip because of the bad reviews but there was no turning back. Let me say this was the best trip I've ever had. The reviews I read make absolutely no sense. Check in took us maybe 10 minutes.. thanks to Charles. Checking out maybe 5 minutes. Room was big always super clean each day. The food was great some days like seafood night at the buffet I thought would be hard to eat but I still found something to eat no problem. The grounds and hotel are kept so clean i think this is the cleanest hotel I've ever been to they work so hard. Barely any seaweed at the beach which I dont know why people complain about that ITS THE BEACH. Shout out to the entertainment boys at the pool closest to the beach they made my stay amazing. And another huge shout out to the best pool bartenders at that same pool. Unfortunately I can't remember all names but one was Jose and he was AMAZING always checking on us making sure we were good happy and always had a drink in hand. I cant say enough good things about this hotel i can't wait to be back!!!

The resort is absolutely stunning, well kept, very clean and safe. I love that there's something for everyone to do. The entertainment crew is absolutely fantastic! The food is great and there is definitely something for everyone to enjoy! The one main issue I have is with the bars. You get charged for the Coco Loco drink. If you ask for the drink to be in a glass and not in a coconut, they refuse to make you one. Also, you can only get Coco Loco at two of the bars and I can't figure out why everytime someone makes it, it tastes completely different. The other issue is that they often run out of particular mixes or juices.

the biggest mistake of my vacation is this resort. Last year was much better. But this year everyone at the reception (without exception) is absolutely inadequate and does not know why they are there. The staff is under criticism. We updated with my family in Fantasia and it cost us almost 4 hours to move. The resorts are 1 Min from each other if you walk. In Punta Cana we had been lied to that they would move us at 16:00 but no one came. They also lied to us about the room with a view of the castle, but it wasn't like that. At the Fantasia resort, people immediately cooperated with us and showed full professionalism. They gave us what they had promised us from the other resort. Although they had lied to us from the other resort. Fantasia has a great manager named Martha. It reacts absolutely instantly and you never go unnoticed. One company… 2 resorts totally different. Bahia Fantasia is great thanks to Martha… .. Bahia Punta Cana is a total failure that is better to be closed.

The resort is pretty and the beach breath taking, that part was ok, but the service is so bad that it makes everything extremely difficult. On check in , we noticed that the check in line was extremely long. As we watched we realized that it just wasn't people checking in but many people visibly upset about one thing or another. This didn't look good...then, when we finally got to the front desk, we were given someone else's room. Had to walk back to the front desk and was given a room where the TV, phone and safe didn't work. Had to walk back again and let them know. They didn't seem concerned. A day later they finally fixed the issues. The buffet food is terrible. You had to chase someone down to get seated, for silverware, and even water. It is almost like they are ignoring you. So annoying!! The restaurants aren't great either, almost like a formal buffet. Bed and pillows are hard as rocks. I can't even check out correctly. The app doesn't work online for express checkout and the line is so long at the desk with more angry customers.

We were a group of over 50 family members and no one is pleased with the service received. There are no plates for guests to serve their food after a certain time, sometimes we asked for water and juice and they would say they don’t have any. Rooms are also very outdated and smell very weird. Terrible, terrible customer service. 100% do not recommend! Don’t waste your time and money Coming here.

First and foremost, I would like to say that we had a very good time and that we would stay here again. No stay is perfect and that should not be our expectation especially during the pandemic. There were shops that were closed and the sports bar was closed and I didn't bother checking out the casino. The pools were excellent, we especially liked the pool by the beach. The buffet was good, not great but pretty good. It was very difficult making a restaurant reservation, all booked up.. The room was comfortable. The amenities were excellent. The beach was beautiful! Service was pretty good. I would recommend.

I’ve chosen this place to stay with my sister although I regret my decision because hotel is below average standards. Hotel room is so dirty, dust everywhere and mould on the curtains. Cleaners don’t do anything except do your bedding and changing bins. Most of staff don’t speak English so it’s hard to communicate because they don’t know basic English. Music on the pool area is so loud and they play it non stop as there’s lots of entertainment going on but it’s just too much. It’s also hard to find available sunbed on the beach.

This resort was one the worst hotels I’ve been to the food at the buffet was always bad not to mention the times they were open sometimes we would starve because the lack of hours and other restaurants that were supposed to be open were permanently closed. The room is nothing like the picture it’s extremely dusty and dirty. The towels they provide had so many stains on my them. The premium wifi that we paid for could barely work half of your vacation it wasn’t working at all. The hotel doesn’t have much to offer I would advise staying somewhere else as I feel my entire money went to waste. Don’t count on the hotel staff to have any customer service they don’t have any. We denied entry into most restaurants because the colour of our wrist band. Overall I give this resort a solid 1/10.

The staff was not attentive at all and it took them a lot of time even to do the smallest things. On top of that, one of the staff members tried to screw us by telling us that we have to pay 200$ per person just to stay there. The truth is, that you have to consume (e.g. food, drinks, etc.) for 200$ which is a completely different story. I would not recommend this resort to anyone who is going to Punta Cana

We stayed as a large group at the end of October. I really liked the hotel. Good activities and very good pools. The food was decent. They could improve the treatment of the employees. We had several problems with several rooms. They have Make quick repairs, the bathtub is super dangerous for elderly or heavy people... in the transportation thanks to Santos who helped us a lot with my grandmother...in the pool area ask for Santa...the best in that area...super attentive with the group...

I have no idea how this is a 4/5 star resort. I’ve never wanted to leave a resort so quick! The service was absolutely horrible. In restaurants, you can’t get any waiters attention. Have to wait so long to ask for a drink and they bring when we’re already done our food. Calling front desk is uselss, they put you on hold for very long time even if you are having a medical emergency!! Buffet takes yourNEW food from your table if you step out for a little (like to get a drink which only take a minute after I put my new food down). Tour buses can’t even wait one minute for you. If you not there, they leave right away without waiting at all. Pools kept closing. Every day one pool closed. There are 4 pools and 3 were closed throughout the stay. The beach chairs are almost all broken. The seats don’t stay up. The maid doesn’t take away dirty towels and gave me used conditioner when I asked for new one. Door keys keep breaking and door doesn’t lock if key is broken. Personal speak close to no english which is very bad for a tourist resort where main language is English. Very hard for them or us to understand anything. Also, everyone is so uneducated about everything. You ask someone where something is, go there, and it’s not there so you ask someone else where it is, and they tell you to go back where you asked the first time. They toss you around with every question you have and no one knows the answer to anything and can’t help. People like to beg for tip. One time I didn’t give tip and he said “really? Come on!” The beach was really smelly and never cleaned of the seaweed. I guess it may not be that much there fault as it seemed liked red tide. But at least clean the sand of the all the seaweed which made the whole resort reek of it! The resort is beautiful but the service is AWFUL!!!

The rooms were clean not fancy but spacious and very comfortable! The staff was helpful and friendly! Tip them well! Pools were nice! The food was tasty and diverse with lots of selection! Only the buffets were open but there was no lack of food! The beach and grounds were clean and well maintained!

Don’t stay here. It is a ripoff. This company has better and much nicer all-inclusive hotels that are five stars. This one is not it, not even close. Facilities are worse than a motel 6, which needs to be renovated. The beaches are super dirty, and you can’t even enjoy them. Coming to the Caribbean, the most significant part is enjoying the beach. This beach was nasty and stinky. Total waste of money. They won’t give you your money back if you try to check out early. This place sucks. I wish I could give fat less than a 1 star. It truly is awful. Spend the extra few hundred in a far better hotel. I read some of the reviews but decided to stay here—the biggest mistake of my trip.

We had great 14 days at the Hotel. The rooms were spaciously enough and friendly staff everywhere. Almost made friends with some. It is true, the rooms might need a refreshment or renewal but we have seen it at other houses ongoing. There is a little tram between main building at the beach. Quite comfortable. The pools are good and also like landscapes. We didn't used the next to our house because we like beach and pool mixed. Luckily, there is one pool area there as well. Food was great. Drinks were also good to great. The staff is polite and helpful. I appreciated the service with a little tip from time to time which is helpful as well.

My 5th time at the Grand Bahia Principe luxury Ambar. I love this place so much. Booked my Vacation from Nov. 14th to 21st . Great place and service. Do to covid some stores and the night club, and things are not open or running at 100% capacity just yet.. but over all our stay has been fantasic.. our room was great and close to the main pool and every building comes with buttler services ..he decorated my room so beautiful for our anniversary with flowers on the bed, champagne and chocolate covered strawberries, always try and request the corner rooms in any of the buildings they are alittle bigger and they have a big tub in the room . the main Ambar pool was busy and u have to get up early to reserve ur chairs.. shout out to Desiree and Bianca our super friendly ,wonderful waitresses if the main Ambar pool gets too busy u have access to the Aquamarine pool and its so nice , clean and more quite ..the beach was very nice, sometimes had some seeweed but some days were soo clean and clear!! If You are staying at the Ambar, you can go to any of the bahias.. and mostly access to anything.. food was good , some resturaunts were great our favorite was MEAT= (ceasar salad, chicken wings and flank steak and rib eye steak amazing ) Greek , and Japanese . i have tried all the resturaunts in the past and were also good., we could not get into the Indian resturaunt because it was always booked up even tho most resturaunts have empty tables, also the fish market is only available to privilege club members only.. to get reservations to the a la carte resturaunts make sure to email the resort ahead of time to let them know about what building you would like to stay in and resturaunts u would like to go too or when u arrive book ur reservations in the lobby.. they do try there best to accommodate. Sports bar was so good! Chicken burger was good, mozzarella sticks were my favorite, and wings were good. Carlos the Manager in the sports bar was fantastic , he always came around. Also Perla the waitress was so sweet and attentive.. overall my other stays here have been alittle bit more perfect, but overall still good.

Not a very good experience mostly due to the lobby staff. They do not seem to like their jobs and do not care about ensuring customer satisfaction. We upgraded to one of the newer rooms close to the beach which was beautiful in all aspects except 1...the AC was not working. It was our first night so after a long day of travel we were exhausted and just thought the room needed time to cool, by 10:30pm the room was still warm so we called concierge, explained the issue but to no avail. We called back 2 more times and finally they sent a technician to check and due to the language barrier all we could understand him say is manana which means tomorrow. When we again tried reaching concierge multiple times to let them know the situation but no answer. Can you imagine trying to call the main lobby at 11:45 if there was an actual emergency at night and not being able to reach anyone? Since our room was located at the opposite end of the property we had no energy left to go personally to inform them of the issue so we just got by that night with the ceiling fan. The next day after breakfast, I spoke with the manager, William and he moved us to another room but there was no remorse, no apologies, no compensation for that night without AC, just a straight face. No further issues with the room after that except on our last day both our keys were deactivated and after being on the beach the entire day the last thing we wanted to do was walk all the way to the lobby and reactivate the keys which ended up taking an hour out of our day because they have 1 machine and they make you wait in line behind people who are checking in. What a terrible and stupid process for a hospitality chain that big , and we were not the only ones who had this deactivation issue. Food was really, really poor in quality and taste but the servers in the buffet restaurants were always very sweet and friendly. They have 2 kiosks in the lobby to book your a la cart restaurants, which we really appreciated and hope all resorts start to implement. We were there 4 nights and the 3 restaurants we wanted were not available. The 2 we did book were not good. The cleaner for our room was inconsistent, one day she didn't clean our room until 4:30pm and the next day she was knocking at our door at 8:30am...why? Btw there is no do not disturb tag available to keep on the door handle. The resort grounds were very nice, clean and well maintained. The evening shows were fun and entertaining for all ages. The part of Bavaro beach they have is gorgeous but is the most receded of the properties nearby which is sad. We unfortunately we will not return to Bahia Principe again based on the poor customer service we experienced. I do hope they improve these issues in the future.

Being a member of the privilege club gave me access to the entire resort. There were golf cart drivers available to take us wherever we wanted to go. The food selection was large. There were better options at the Grand and the adult hotels. The pools were clean and the bar locations were excellent to keep us hydrated and cool. What I would complain about is they are very hesitant to give a face cloth to shower with. Even after asking numerous times we had to keep following up. And maid service was very slow. Were are privilege members and they skipped our room until 3pm. We were out of the room by 7:30 each day.

I was pretty sad and disappointed by this trip. Make sure you don't tell anyone at the resort you are travelling solo or staying in a room by yourself. Our one friend had someone trying to enter her room at 5 am. I went to our front desk lobby to mention to them that the adjustable shower was broken, round mirror was broken. The shower leaked into the toilet area. I was told to call maintenance, on my vacation and the one number didn't work. One night a man was in our room doing housekeeping at around 6 pm so we left so he could finish no problem. We came back and one of our bath towels was missing our bed wasn't made properly and dirty linen was left behind. No do not disturb signs so we had people attempting to come into our room even when we had the chain on. The buffet was pretty monotonous. Our one friend had a birthday that was emailed about and after being told we had a reservations we were told "Sorry we can't seat all of you no space" We were a large group and they booked us at reserved dinners 30 min apart even though there was an email sent prior to our arrival and they said no problem. There was some great things. The server Luisa the singing server made everyone feel great at our tables and Benny made sure we were taken care of. We have been to Bahia properties before but I don't know if we will be returning to this one again, because other then those 2 mentioned it wasn't all that great. Save yourself a disappointment and look to another resort.

Horrible attitudes and values portrayed at this resort. After discovering our luggage had been searched and an item stolen they completely disregard any responsibility. At first they said if you would have told us earlier we would have given this matter the proper attention, which doesn’t even make sense because we contacted them immediately. And then when I said that, they said that we can take any responsibility for anything out of the safe. When I asked them if they agree that it is proper for the cleaner to open and search the luggage of each patron they had no reply. For a resort that claims to be 4 plus stars this is unacceptable behaviour. Not to mention that the rooms are run down and dirty, and if you are wanting any service prepare to be constantly tipping because they ignore you. Save yourself any disappointment and try a different resort, may I suggest Catalonia Royal Bavaro or Punta Cana Majestic Elegance we went to these resorts they were beautiful and provided amazing service.

Amazing hotel, perfect sandy beach clean and warm water! Food was good, rooms cleaned every day! Catarina one of the ladies prepping juices was always so kind and attentive. Pools are meticulously cleaned and prepped every morning for guests to enjoy. The entertainment staff at the pool was amazing! Kids and adults have a lot to do all day! Dorian aka Obama is the most personable guy, always entertaining and helping guests to find something to do! Couldn’t be happier with our choice of destination.

Many have written bad reviews about this resort. We are here and love it. It is a group of us who are well versed in travel to many countries. The food is amazing (the buffet and restaurants). The staff is amazing. The only thing that can be improved is that our friends had constant issues with their room key. They stayed in villa #79. The Spa was also amazing.

At Grand Punta Cana, the service is impeccable and the staff is excellent. However, the hotel already needs a refurbishment, especially in the rooms, you can already see the wear and tear. Need more trains, there were times I waited 20 minutes for a train to the beach. At the beach and pool, some lounge chairs need to be replaced. Otherwise, everything is impeccable and the resort is beautiful. I loved my stay at the Grand Punta Cana and, once again, the staff is excellent, always very friendly and ready to help. And lots of animation. Super recommend. Thanks for everything!

Ok, so there's a difference in work ethic versus hustle here. Some people show up and expect to just do the job and go about their day. Some actually want to make a good impression. But few are willing to help create experiences and memories for you. If you have expectations for relaxing without being hassled by vendors, this is not your beach to play on. That slice of water took a while to get a picture of because of the clamor for tourist dollars. The staff at the resort is simply not willing to do anything extraordinary, so as long as you don't mind adjusting the expectations, you should do fine. Beds are FIRM, by the way. The water pressure is good, rooms are clean, and the TV picture quality is awful, but that's not really why you are there.

I don’t even know where to start. I wouldn’t consider this hotel a 5 star hotel, I’d say 3 stars it’s more appropriate. We just got back from our Christmas holiday and were very disappointed. Rooms extremely dirty, staff didn’t know basic informations regarding their own hotel/activities. Staff always unhappy or with an attitude. Food was 2 out 10, we tried the Italian restaurant as everyone said that it was great but it was far very far from Italian cuisine ( I am Italian). Entertainment very nice, evening shows beautiful and location stunning. The structure of the hotel is incredible but everything else lacks. Won’t be returning unfortunately.

My experience was not that great, but I tolerated it. I got there around 730pm, and my room wasn't ready. I had to wait, then the room that was given to me. The bathroom wasn't very tidy, the ac was leaking water so badly the hallway of the room and behind the dresser and TV the water ran to. I told the staff all they did was turn off the ac and mop the hallway area and left the water that went behind the dresser area where the plugs were. The buffet common hall I was given a seat to sit down, I went to get food only to come back and see the concierge person give the table that he assigned me to someone else. So now I had to wait on another table. I made them aware of the untidiness of the bathroom, and they told me it's clean. But the sink had water stains, the mirror was not cleaned, and the tub looked very untidy. Everything else was ok

Stayed at the Bahia Principe Esmeralda last year and it was a 5 star experience. There have been major cuts in staff meaning you lost that person customer care. The buffet is less and more restrictive. They've cut the number of allowed restaurants (last year we had 1 allowed per night, now you get 2 maximum). I understand that they're renovating but that cut in staffing is really felt. Waits for drinks in every area are excessive (water, juice, soda and cocktails). I am not sure what the plan is but someone really ruined a perfect location. You can get this from an American location the only thing missing would be the authentic location.

We booked this hotel based on some of the good reviews, what a mistake.  Unfortunately, we experienced first-hand the issues raised in many of the bad reviews. Bad Experiences: ·         At check-in we queued in a line for 20 minutes before we were told we were in the wrong queue, there was no signage to indicate which queue we should be in and there was no apology.  We then had to join the end of another queue, which took another 20 minutes.  We finally checked in after an hour following arriving at this hotel, not what you want after an 8-hour flight, 2 hours to get through customs and transfer to the hotel.  Yet no apology or even a welcome drink.  In every hotel I have stayed at the check-in time is within 5-10 minutes. . Staff in the restaurants and entertainment area stand over you to write a Google review of the hotel. They would bring over QR code with link and then watch over you whilst you wrote a review. Really bizzare, this is how they get so many of the good reviews. ·         The shower in the room leaked. ·         The vegetarian options were limited to pizza, pasta, chips and salad, being a vegetarian after day 2 I really started struggling with the food. If you are a vegetarian then do not go to this place. ·         The food was not always labelled and vegetarian food was mixed with the meat, they did not always have enough serving spoons so people were mixing the vegetarian with the meat, which made my options even more limited. ·         The coffee stations in the restaurant and other areas in complex never had mugs; you would have to speak to a number of people requesting these before someone was bother to listen to your request. ·         Bowls were rarely available at breakfast even at 7:30am.  We had to request these, again you would have to speak to a number of people before you came across someone who could actually be bothered. ·         Staff would lie to you when they simply couldn’t be bothered one example at 9am there was no butter near the bread counter, I was told that it has finished, asked someone else they disappeared  in to the kitchen and came back carrying on with what they were doing with no update, it was clear they had ignored you.  Again, you would eventually find someone willing to help. ·         Normally there is someone walking around the restaurant making sure that everything is in place, but they left the customers to request missing items, with staff that could not be bothered. ·         This place did not run very efficiently from the front desk, restaurant and bar, given the number of staff, it lacked management guidance and training. Good Experience ·         The room was dated but clean. ·         The hotel grounds are lovely and are clean. ·         The entertainment team and the general entertainment around the hotel was really good. ·         The long stretch of beach is lovely. ·         The pool areas are all very good. ·         About 30% of the staff you came across were nice and worked hard. ·         Plenty of sunbeds on the beach, but crowded and limited sunshade.

It looked good online. Good price. Very disappointing in person. Almost no one spoke English. Most employees looked like they didn't want to be there. No nightlife to speak of. Entertainment was basically the same thing every night. Only the lobby bar is open at night. Most drinks there are an extra charge. Lobby has no AC. Pool bar drinks were too sweet and they skimped on alcohol. Food was either bland or pure sugar. The room looked nice but had a lot of problems. Very little stock in the mini fridge. Water went out for a day and a half in the building and they refused to move our room. Couldn't shower or flush the toilet. They refused to send a bucket of water to let us flush. The reception on the TV was snowy, then the cable went out for 2 days. At check out, they were supposed to send a transport to pick us and our bags up. No one came. They refused to give a refund.

Check in took 3 hours and we arrived before checking time. Process can easily be improved with small adjustments. US & EU people are used to quicker and clearer processes, which benefits the service. Staff is very kind and nice, but very underpaid. It’s style is very outdated and everything needs a renovation. The buffet restaurant is very dark and depressing, especially for such a sunny and beautiful country. The scrambled eggs were green, I didn’t dare to eat them. We had a good stay anyway, we had a last minute price which compensated a lot. I wouldn’t pay the regular price for this resort.

This place is just fantastic. I want to give a special shout out to the staff. I have no words to express them. Housekeeping staff Mabel was beyond phenomenal. Such a kind and friendly person with such great work. I also want to give a shout out to Pedro and Paul at the front desk for fabulous; fast and friendly service always with a smile. If you go to the spa, the spa staff is amazing. They prioritize your comfort, relaxation and safety over everything. A special mention to Caren and Gabriella for making us feel like queens with their most helpful service and relaxing massage. I have forgotten the names of others at the Bugambilla dining room but they were beyond phenomenal. Always smiling, prompt service and beyond helpful. I recommend this with highest regard and will be back here very soon.

Huge resorts with 7 different hotels. Great staff! Very kind and helpful. I decided to celebrate my son’s birthday at the buffet and they went above and beyond! They sure are amazing entertainers ! Additionally the food is different every day and very tasty. The only downside is that it’s not the kid’s club I expected. Don’t expect to leave your kids all day and chill. Besides this, the staff makes all the difference! They should get a raise!!

I always give a fair review, pros and cons. Fair price a night. However, you get what you pay for. Our room wasn't clean, I've stayed in much worse though. Our room was located in the gardens area next to the Ambar, not quiet and very loud all the time, definitely a party scene. If this is not your cup of tea, steer clear. Service was not good if you didn't speak Spanish and staff was not helpful either. You definitely have to know how to speak it if you want service here! The lobby buffet is much better than the beach buffet. The grounds and pool facilities are very nice and picturesque. I had great services at the spa. My daughter and I will not be returning to this resort. We will stay on the Cap Cana side of the island.

Generally nice staff, beautiful pool, decent food, good entertainment, and it looks like they make a great effort. The beach should be cleaner, too many cigarette butts that children can pick up. Took multiple attempts to fix issues (replacing shampoo, broken coffee machine). My room card stopped working twice, another family we met was sent to the wrong room. Our room was not very clean when we entered (kleenex box empty, sand on floor, body gel empty, needs better maintenance, etc). Check In took way too long and it was really painful to wait, reception staff is too slow and needs better training on how to be more efficient. No effort is made by staff to explain how everything works (transportation within complex, how to read the map - this would have been VERY helpful if explained early on). Majority of staff speaks Spanish which was difficult at times, and they kept speaking to you in Spanish when it was clear you couldn't speak Spanish, which was frustrating at time. We found out about a couple kids having accidents at the kids water park and were told the life guard didn't care, so it looks like there is no reporting or resolution of incidents. It's a very nice water park but staff should be more serious and trained about how to deal with accidents, injuries, reporting, etc as these are young children playing in the water park. It was hard to notice where the lifeguards are in the main pool areas, I'm not even sure if there were any, they were definitely not easily visible. More cleanliness is needed in the buffet. I noticed bugs everywhere getting into people's food and drink, plus they should be more careful mixing ingredients for omelets as they are just flinging the ingredients everywhere. You couldn't order a vegetable omelet as they would mix meat in it without noticing, they should be more careful. My rating would be around a 7/10.

We really enjoyed our girls trip. The hotel is beautiful and so well maintained. The food was good but not great, meat tended to always be on the dry side. The staff was fantastic, friendly and always smiling. The beach was cleaned of seaweed so it was nice in front of our resort. The vendor's will keep asking if you want to buy things but most leave you be if you say no thank you.

Amazing! most staff doesn’t speak fluent English so knowing a little Spanish will help. Staff seems a little over worked but they make you feel welcomed. Plenty to do for kids, teens and adults all day long. Pools and bars are kept clean despite such high volume. any problems staff will remedy as quick as possible

Run-down and filthy. I'm sure this resort was beautiful when it was built, but it definitely needs a renovation now and better maintenance. This comment is for the rooms and restaurants. The food was also terrible. I didn't enjoy my stay there and do not recommend the resort. The only thing I enjoyed was the evening entertainment. They had music and entertainment ever night. But everything else was disappointing.

ROOMS: I recommend to the management, if there is enough budget, to renovate the hotel rooms. They are outdated. FOOD: EXCELLENT!!!!, restaurant service good overall. BEACH: EXCELLENT !!! Some sections of the beach need algae cleanup occasionally. Ocean water is very nice, blue and clean. ENTERTAINMENT: EXCELLENT!!! Shows are amazing, music and dance area are very nice. POOLS: EXCELLENT!!! Perfect water, clean, nice entertainment. SERVICE: Good overall. WIFI: Needs improvement

Ill start with the positive first. The amenities and overall service were great. Entertainment team is great, and staff is very friendly and attentive. Food was good. The only negative thing i have to say is about the rooms. They are horrible, outdated, dirty, broken down, unpleasant and very dark. Furniture is very old and rusted. The lighting is very dim. The room only has 3 outlets. The bathroom have no vents and there is mold around the bathtub. With all that said, id recommend for you to spend a bit more money and stay in the much much better ambar, esmeralda or fantasia. Those have upgraded rooms and you get to use the facilities of all the other hotels. Overall a good vacation but i will not be staying in this hotel again due to the room problem.

I typically don’t leave reviews but this hotel was one disappointment after another. First was the check in. It took us about 45 minutes to check in from the time we arrived at the hotel until we got to our rooms. After finding our rooms we discover that they are currently being used. Front desk didn’t own up to their mistake and didn’t seem to care this had happened. After fighting with the front desk we then were separated from our party and put in another room finally. The WiFi in our rooms were impacted as well because of this error. The same day we had an infestation of flys and we tried calling front desk and guest services and no one came to our aid. The following day the cleaning service came into one of the room and an item of clothing had gone missing. Again we tried to go to the front desk for help and they brushed us off as if we were lying and made up the story. We tried to call room service one night and after being told countless times there is a QR code to scan for the menu, we still didn’t find it. We also made reservations for the Spa and we’re pleasantly surprised on how nice that was. Our checkout process was a breeze since thankfully we went early enough. The only other negative was they forced you to take their ride service to the airport which was $40 for a twenty minute ride. The front desk claimed I couldn’t take a Uber since they weren’t allowed into the hotel. Overall the hotel is nice and the food is good but the customer service is lacking.

If you would like to do any extra, like Spa. The prices are very high. Overall ok. Service are good.

Well maintained, food is ok though nothing special. Too bad the service at the reception is unorganised and unfriendly (2,5h to extend 1 night)

Osvaldo was very pleasant to talk with as well as all of the other staff on the resort. The entertainment was excellent each night and staff provided games. All super friendly and helpful. Beautiful resort!

As this date(13/08/2021) after being hit by the pandemic aftermath hotel industry still recovering, this particular hotel provides decent services but a very good people, always caring. The food was very good ,flavors and all varieties. I will recomend it as an entry level resort.

Best time of my kids lives. They had fun from beginning to end. Staff there is so welcoming and friendly. Food was great, pools where great, Drinks where great. Only issue is transportation on the little carts. Most will not take you with kids, had to wait fir certain ones which was frustrating with kids waiting in the heat.

This had to be the worst experience we ever had in a resort. Staff does not speak English and is very rude and lazy. When you ask for a drink be prepared to wait because nobody wants to make it. They simply ignore you while you stand there. Their main buffet located in the lobby stinks so bad we could not stay to finish our meal. They allow 3 restorant reservations. I complained about the smell so they allowed more reservations. Room service does not come every day and cleaning lady out our dirty towel for us to reuse. Rooms and beds are full of mosquitoes and some kind of crawling bugs. My both sons got bitten all over their body Took us over 5 hours and multiple visits to the reception to finally at 2am get a new room for them. Of course now they did not have a connecting room with us. Food is decent but drinks are terrible. I made complains while we were there and at first nobody cared. After I said we paid for 4 rooms and 9 people to come they gave us a voucher for free massage. When we finally came to check out they wanted to charge my brother in law a drink he never had, and wanted to charge us for free massages. I lost it! We both almost lost our bus transfer to the airport. Finally manager let us go. I am so disappointed in this trip and the staff there. All they see is money sign and couldn't care less about the guests. Resort grounds are nicely kept. My family will not return here Bahia used to be a great resort but it is not at all anymore. I spoke with many guests who spoke Spanish and they said it was the same experience for them too. Very disappointing.

Where to start I stayed her for my Niece sweet sixteen. The rooms had patio furniture no blankets, no wash cloths, the phones didn't work to call the front desk, The TV would flicker in and out . The lighting in the room was dim and almost non existent the bathroom tub would have water back yp. The food wasn't the greatest. The pools and the beach were nice although there weren't many African american people on the property we spent the whole time getting the side eye

If I could rate it a -1 I definitely would. Lets start with the fact that they lost my luggage and took over an hour to locate it. My luggage was with the rest of my friends but they decided to just take mine and misplace it. Secondly Check in took over two hours, the long was insanely long and you could over hear everyone else's frustration with the front desk. Now let's talk about the room itself. The tub was absolutely dirty, there were crumbs all over the floor, the sheets were not clean ( we asked multiple times for new ones). The worst part is the plug in the wall, when I went to remove my phone charger the plug came out the wall along with the cords so the whole thing came out the wall. That is an automatic fire hazard so I was very disappointed with the conditions of our room. On our second day there we tried to ask for a new room since our first one was not up to par and they told us we couldn't. Now we spoke to someone named Juan earlier in the day and he told us we were able to switch our rooms. So the communication is just as terrible as the service. We spent almost 3 hours going back and fourth with the people at the front desk until we were finally able to swap rooms. It technically wasn't a new room it was one our friends old room. This was my first time staying at an all inclusive resort and I was disappointed. The service was terrible, the lack of communication with the staff was terrible. All in all a terrible experience for my first time out the country.

Absolutely awful! Do not stay at this place! Our room was filthy, the bathtub was BROWN, disgusting, the sheets were not clean and the safe was not working. Changed to a different room and guess what? Same thing! The room was disgusting, the toilet flush was broken and once again the safe was not working. Very convenient since the room next to us had 400 pounds stollen from their luggage! Never again, stay away from this hotel. Appalling

Worst hotel experience I’ve ever had. My family and I had to wait 2 hours to check in, only to find our room not read for us (at 5pm!), went out for dinner and came back, same thing!! We tried accessing the room again and the key was not working. The staff is nice but extremely incompetent. I was so frustrated with our stay. I would 100% advise to stay away if you want to relax. The beach is nice but not worth all the stress

Henry in concierge/ guest services is the #1 reason my trip was great! Henry went above and beyond to ensure that we had a pleasant and memorable trip. Initially we were unable to book our dinner reservations because all of the restaurants were booked. Henry arranged for us to have a reservation every night of our stay. It was my best friends birthday and he arranged to have a sash on our room door as well as a birthday cruise. He was even able to have our COVID test taken in our room. This man needs to be in a higher position as he is AWESOME. He was very attentive and pleasant, and extremely respectful. I initially had an issue with my room, the shower did Not work, refrigerator, or air conditioning but Christian at the front desk had me moved and he insured that the room was in perfect order prior to us relocating. The room issue is why I gave 4 stars. Henry made this a very memorable trip and I would return solely due to his hospitality.

This is my second time in Punta Cana and my first time staying at Bahia Principe Grand Bavaro. Four of us arrived on a Monday around 1:30 and had to wait 3 hours to get checked in to our room. We got to our room and it was disgusting. Very outdated, smell of mildew, stains in the bath tub. We went to go get lunch from the buffet and that was god awful. We saw a gentleman making pasta to order so we went and ordered some. As the employee was cleaning the pans we saw a big sink of brown water. He would clean the pan with the brown water and than cook someone’s new pasta dish in it. I almost got sick watching it! Drinks were terrible too. We stuck to beer and wine all week since the mixed drinks didn’t even taste like they had alcohol in them. This resort has very poor customer service. We were required to book reservations for the 7 restaurants. Our first day of being there, the entire week was booked up and we couldn’t book any reservations. We complained every day to guest services about this and they could care less. Constantly rolling their eyes at us and saying we can eat at the buffet. My friends and I got severely sick trying to eat their food. We were constantly tipping throughout the trip and employees could care less. It’s really sad and unfortunate how much money we spent to stay here knowing we were treated so poorly. Please for anyone reading this, take my advice and go anywhere else but this place.

Grand Bahia Principe Bavaro is a wonderful place to unwind, feel the breeze, and just relax! 4 couples came here to get a 1 week break! Wonderful beach! Food was very good. Our only problem was that it's a long ride from airport because we had to stop to unload several guests at 2 other resorts before we finally got to Bahia. (That's why 3 stars) arrived about 3p (had a 4am check in at airport but we had 5 days left to enjoy the beach and pools before the long ride back to airport. And yes, we were first stop at 930am, and then 2 more resorts. Back at airport about 12:30pm for 3pm flight.. Both coming to resort and leaving resort were wasted days travel days so keep that in mind if you're coming for a week.

We have been coming to Grand Bahia for several years, but the level is declining. A sleek beach house has been added, where the food is very monotonous and of poor quality. The previous pool restaurant had much more atmosphere and offerings. however this one is closed. the roofs around the pool are all in poor condition and no longer look attractive, the pool bar is so outdated it looks shabby. All in all a sad downward trend, the cause of which I do not know. The rooms are reasonable, but there are many things to criticize and then you don't have to be very critical. the mechanic was able to fix 3 things, the toilet, the bathroom ceiling and the minibar. sorry to see it slide like this. Even the “Show” at the Japanese restaurant is the same as it was 10 years ago, variety and other “humour” wouldn't hurt. The employees in and around the park really do their best, which you absolutely cannot say about the front desk. you are referred from the service desk to the front desk and vice versa. where you have long waiting times everywhere, so if you have a question you really have to find your moment. all in all had a reasonable holiday. but next time we'll look at something else

The property is huge, the pools are nice especially the one with the swim up bar. The buffet had lots of variety. The beach was beautiful. The staff was excellent, they went above and beyond to accommodate me and my 13 other family and friends. Ishmael and Bartolo definitely made our trip a fantastic one.

I have nothing but positive things to say about our stay at Bahia Principe Grand Bávaro. Firstly, the rooms are immaculate. The mini bar is restocked each day, the beds are made, and the bathroom is cleaned and restocked with essentials. Secondly, the buffet has many choices of cuisine with charming wait staff. The food is always fresh, delicious, and with great presentation. But the most delightful part of our stay was the service, especially with the help of Marisol and Louicilien in reception of Bahia Principe Grand Bávaro. They were very respectful, and quick to assist us with our needs, including with extending our stay for an additional evening. We are more than happy and we'll definitely stay here again in the future :)

The property is big and has not enough gulf carts. If you get a room closer to the beach you’ll need to take the cart to go almost everywhere. There are not enough cabanas or any typ of shade at the beach and pools. If you want a space at the pool you will have to be there before 10am. The food is okay, it’s the same food every day for the most part. The beverage services are a bit slow. Their Brazilian a la cart restaurant is amazing, would definitely recommend that. The rooms are okay, not the best but it could be worse. If you are looking for a relaxing vacation this is not the place. Too many people, long waits for everything and the beach has a lot of seaweed.

Let’s start talking about the infrastructure. It delivered much more than I expected for the price. The staff is very friendly and kind, the entertainment team is wonderful, there are shows every night, live music. Let’s start talking about the infrastructure. It delivered much more than I expected for the price. The staff is very friendly and kind, the entertainment team is wonderful and they make your stay even more enjoyable! I would say they are the highlight! There are shows every night, live music. There is a village where you can gamble at the casino, dance at the disco, sing karaoke, watch shows and enjoy shopping. I have just check out and I am looking forward to coming back. The beach is nice, it was algae season though in May.

The rooms are very outdated. The television is old and not a clear picture. The concierge services are horrible. No one responds and completes the service promptly. I understand there will be bugs but it should never be excessive. They did come to spray the room the next day but that was done 8 hrs after requested. What's the point of using their concierge app when they do not respond to it at all. I would not recommend this resort for vacation. Also express checkout is not really express you still have to get a ticket print out .

I enjoyed my stay. The hotel wad nice and clean. Staff was helpful and friendly. Good food and drinks.I had issues with my room. Broken bed and fridge. Air conditioning wasn’t that great. They never restocked the mini bar or fridge. Other than that It was a good experience overall.
