Their new tacquiera menu for this location is 100% the experience I've been looking for since moving to the beautiful PNW from the South. Authentic Mexican food was everywhere, and the food scene is way better up here, but I did miss the Mexican cuisine. I've been fortunate enough to have many trips to Mexico, and I've always loved their food and culture. This place recreated it perfectly for me. The mole burrito, tamales, and nachos...it was like being teleported back. I was absolutely blown away. I even bought a generous amount to take home of the table salsa they sent as an appetizer. I can't wait to try their new location's menu.

Great food and fast service. 10 out of 10 food. It's one of my favorite places to eat for any occasion. My all-time favorite to get are the Street Tacos. The location is easy to get to, and parking is easy on the street or behind the building. If you are near downtown Hillsboro, this is a great place to visit!

Amelia's us a very good authentic Mexican restaurant. They have recently streamlined their menu, eliminating my one go to dish posole. That to me was probably the best dish on the menu and my main reason for going. It was amazing. hopefully they'll bring it back. We had the chicken enchiladas with the green tomatillo sauce absolutely delicious. Perfectly dressed and cooked. We also shared the bowl, it's like a taco salad but way better very well put together with fresh vegetables this particular bowl was topped with El pastor between the two sharing it was more than enough food for two people with leftovers. Although the menu has been streamlined they're still worth the visit as the service and food is top notch. As always remember be mindful be happy be you. Choose well.😊

Maybe I have too high of expectations but I have been to many Mexican restaurants from California all the way through the coast to Washington and never had been stopped from getting more salsa without a $2.00 charge, these bowls are pretty small to be charging $2.00 for another mini bowl of salsa. Let’s add this up. The atmospheres is only as good as the service, and the service is very poor! Did not get more chips, had to ask, did not get any more salsa I had to ask, needed salt had to ask. If the service is poor, then the atmosphere is poor! Then we have to look at the food. One of the reasons I needed more salsa is because the food was slightly dry so I wanted the salsa to pour over the burrito and the rice to have a little bit more flavor, The rice was pretty bland. This was our third attempt because I was optimistically thinking this place has to be better than my last visit but it’s very very disappointing! How does this place have such a decent rating with a guy that doesn’t even engage with customers and good being pretty bland. If you’re new here to Hillsboro there are better places to eat than here. Try Peppers Mexican grill on Baseline, good food and very friendly staff. Don’t waist your money or time for dinner. Maybe a good quick lunch place at best not to expecting service or tasty food. The owner SEEMS to care with his responses but see reviews, he doesn’t take accountability for experiences. He also dismisses many many low star reviews as if it only one opinion but there are too many to ignore. Also I never ask for free food I just describe what I see and taste but this owner again is trying to excuse my low star review as a reason to ignore. Also my wife’s stomach did not feel good when we got home and honestly either does mine! Both the locations are mediocre at best. This review is not to put this place down it is just an opinion of mid to low quality service and low quality taste. There are places I highly recommend as they have GREAT service and good to great food like the Margarita factory. The service is amazing there and UNLIMITED salsa if you want it. The server named Blas will become your best friend. Other restaurants really care about great customer service. Unlike Amelia’s who our server stopped the kind lady from bringing us more salsa. I have over 72 million views of my photos so there must be some credibility to what I see and write. I have never thought of myself as a food critic I am just your normal guy who loves good food and good service. Cannot recommend this place. (Previous visits) We had high expectations for this place based on the ratings but it was kind of forgettable but I will try again to make sure I didn’t miss anything. The service is ok or below average, chips and salsa was pretty good. Off format dining area but has decent seating. Not a personable place to eat, no greetings no conversation or friendliness just a simple meal which deters me from going back but I will give it another opportunity. At this point I cannot recommend this place unless you are very hungry and want a large burrito to eat.

So my friend I decided to drop by to Amelia's on a whim and it was by far the best spontaneous decision yet! I've never been and I was feeling really home sick as a California girl, so the ambience made me feel right at home. Everything was lovely, the smell of the food brought back memories of my moms kitchen, the music in the background were songs my Mexican father played back in the day. And the food, goodness gracious. The portions were huge! The prices might look expensive on the menu but trust me you will be well fed. In my picture I included the burrito I ate and threw in a silverware knife for scale. The food is absolutely delicious and gave me the nostalgic food memory flash back like in Ratatouille where the goth food review guy eats and is reminded of his mom's food. I felt like I was eating my mom's cooking again. They also have tasty vegan options which is great! If you're in the mood for authentic Mexican food and don't mind a possible food coma, then by all means give this place a shot!

The Enchiladas Verdes plate, and Fish Taco that I got ala carta were SO good! I am from Southern California, and I know good Mexican food, and have been so missing it since I moved up here 6 years ago. Eating here was like eating authentic Mexican food. There wasn't a single bit of the food that I didn't love. The beans were AMAZING, the enchiladas we just like my Mexican friends' mother makes, and the rice was downright tasty. I only got the fish taco as an add-on because I am never quite sure if I'll like a restaurant's version of a fish taco. But it was fantastic as well! The only minor note would be that I couldn't fully hold it like a taco because it was so filled. But I mean, that's not really a bad thing. It was yummy and messy, and enjoyable to eat. Also, I normally eat half of the food when I dine out, and save the rest for leftovers, but that did NOT happen this time. I just didn't want to stop eating! And now I am so full 🤰(<my food baby 🤣) 10 out of 10 I would happily go here again, and even recommend it to anyone that asks!

During our visit to see family in the neighborhood, we stumbled upon this restaurant. They have both indoor and outdoor seating and the staff can speak limited English but are friendly. The food was quite satisfactory, especially the chicken soup, and I was impressed to see fellow diners eat a two-pound burrito. However, I think it's important for them to list the price of the large margarita on the menu, as we were surprised by the additional cost at the end of the meal. One nice aspect of the restaurant is that even when dining with a group, everyone can pay separately. Overall, it's an excellent spot for lunch.

Tried mole for the first time and loved it. I also loved their refried bean👍. 4⭐️ because they were under staffed and service was a bit slow.

I am so thankful they are offering in-house dining again. This is one of my favorite lunch locations when I am in the office. I am a creature of habit and always get the chicken mole burrito. Lots of sauce, but not so much that it is drowning the burrito.

Ameila's is an authentic local family establishment that serves the most amazing and high quality Mexican food that I have ever experienced; and I have lived in and traveled all over the Southwest and Mexico. The tortilla chips and tortillas are HOMEMADE---they are thick, warm, and absolutely delicious. And the salsa is FRESH and again HOMEMADE with tomatoes, onions and cilantro and peppers....and their homeade sauces and the most tasty. Check-out their flavorful mole sauce; again, homemade. And, I've hear their margaritas are the best as well. AMELIAS is a gem for Hillsboro and we are so lucky to have such an amazing tasty, authentic and family owned restaurant. One of the BEST restaurants I have EVER experienced.

    - food definitely worth the taste - burrito de Mole was big enough to feed two people - service was extremely dysfunctional on Tuesday evening when we went, not sure why but drinks arrived super late after multiple reminders so we're few other things asked for - nice outdoor and indoor seating - good margaritas

First time visiting Hillsboro in years, stumbled into Amelia's randomly for lunch and Wow. The Enchiladas Verde plate and fish tacos were so good I dropped in a few days later and had to order those same things. Amazing. Better than anything I've found back home in LA. I'm sure the rest of the menu is great. Definitely stopping in again once back in town.

I ordered the carne arrachera to go. It cost 18$. Does the photo look like 18$ worth of food? I've never been more displeased with a take out experience in my life. 18$ for a scoop of rice and beans, a few strings of onion, and 1 strip of the cheapest cut of beef on the market. This is quite literally 1/4, or less, of the food I would get at any other Mexican restaurant. I will never, ever, be ordering from there again. I highly recommend La Hacienda Real or Juan Colorado as VASTLY superior dinning and take-out alternatives.

Fresh, flavorful, and succulent. Everything I've ever had here has been amazingly delicious. Friendly service. It takes time to make authentic stuff so expect that. If you don't know what to order get the house titled Amelia's plater for a little bit of everything.

Very nice probably one of the best Mexican restaurant in Oregon. The complimentary salsa and chips were tasty and the staffs were super friendly the times we're there.

My father and I enjoyed a really tasty dinner at this restaurant. Chips and salsa are pretty good for the area. We both ordered a dish off of the Amelia's specialties section of the menu and I was very impressed with the taste and presentation of the food. The price of the food is also pretty good. Will definitely be coming again with more friends

I have come here a lot over the years. I have tried most of their food and most are pretty good! My favorites are choriqueso, quesabirrias, and the loco burrito. Staff has always been friendly and accommodating. There is a small parking lot in the back if you're driving to downtown Hillsboro to eat there.

Oh my! I absolutely loved my dinner tonight. Some of the best tacos I've had in a long time. Fresh, quality, delicious food. Thank you, Amelia's. My friends, family, and I will be back! The chicken taquitos were lacking flavor, but still pretty good. Pastor taco was the winner!

Yum yum yum!!! One of my favorite places. The staff and food are wonderful. My favorite is their Loco burrito with steak and chorizo. 3 pounds of delicious awesomeness. My dining companion and I split it and still end of with half the meal left over. Great prices. Fun, funky atmosphere. Great selection of tequilas and many gluten-free, vegetarian and vegan options too. Love this place for lunch and dinner. 💕

This place came highly recommended by the people we visited. The staff were very friendly and seated us promptly. Get the mole burrito! It is HIGE, so be sure and bring your appetite. I thought the prices were reasonable too. Perfect location also in downtown Hillsboro. Highly recommend.

Ever since I had Amelia's asada street taco plate, it's been impossible to find a better one in the area. Posessing an extraordinary amount of flavor for such a simple dish and reasonably priced at $10 for 3 tacos, beans, and rice, this is a strong contender for my favorite meal for the value in Hillsboro!

Good tacos and burritos. BUT, no matter when you go, the service is ALWAYS slow. They seem to be understaffed. I wanted to wait to review to see if it was consistently like that and it is. SO, if you have lots of patience and don't mind slow service, you will love the food!

Quaint cafe style restaurant with friendly staff. Not many places to sit but not cramped either. Food was good and at a fair price. Definitely something to check out of your close by but I wouldn't go out of my way for it.

This is like date night Mexican! Amazing presentation of plates. Healthy portions of food and drink. And such tasty food. Made me talk about it for hours after the fact. Perfect location as well at the start of the historic Hillsboro downtown strip. A great walk! Will go here again and again.

The cooks here mocked my wife for having Celiac. We order takeout here semi-regularly and since they don't have an Allergy menu (seriously) I usually request that they call us if there are any gluten containing ingredients so we can discuss substitution. They've never called and changes to their doordash menu resulted in the note getting dropped this time. When we noticed the food she usually gets apparently does contain gluten normally, we requested a replacement much to the derision and amusement of the cooks. Unprofessional and unacceptable.

Hard to say much was exquisite here. They didn't serve alcohol on a Friday night and atmosphere was lacking. However, was craving a drink so I left and didn't eat the food.
