Pathetic experience - the leasing agents are so useless. I wanted to take a transfer and I had to follow up multiple times for what was missing/needed. Unresponsive- clueless Sarena was my leasing agent - maybe she doesnt know what she was doing. They listed everything as ready to move in. But none of them were ready to move in. I could have sued them to pay me my airbnb bills because they committed my move in on 28th Oct and yet on 27th the apartment had ants, insects. Only good thing was Alisha who heard our concerns and agreed to refund the fees we payed to book. Thank god not all Cortland properties are so bad like this. PS- well no the leasing agent and office said we will have to pay for the ESA! And whatever they responded in the comments on the review is a lie! The apartment was not ready and then NO they did not accommodate as per fair housing rules! So please don't lie CORTLAND BERMUDA LAKE.

I moved out of this apartment November. I never had any problems with this community until I relocated. I’ve never had complaint with this place and I rarely bothered them for anything more than a few maintenance issues. I left my apartment spotless and did a final walk through before I left. I took pictures as well. This apartment charged me for “cleaning fees” and extra services. When I asked what this service was they told me they had to rip up the whole carpet and replace it because I had “large pet stains”. I told them this charge must be a mix up because I don’t even have a pet. I live alone. No dogs or cats. I left my place the exact same way I got it. When they told me they had to replace the carpet it was a red flag. I talked to Alisha Price and she agreed and told me she didn’t understand either because there is no pet on file and she’ll look into it. They also tried to charge me for minor inconviences like a crack in the shelf fridge or a shakey oven handle. These are all things I complained about and have on file that they never fixed. Alisha told me she would “dig into this” and call me back in a couple of days. It’s been 2 weeks and I’ve had to call her back. I got a response from someone under her that she said to call corporate accounting because they can’t do anything about it now that my account is closed. I’m calling corporate on this place. They are trying to run a scam. I’m calling the Better Business Beauru as well. I do not recommend this place at all. The neighbors can be loud and the parking lot is always busy. They will steal your deposit. They also get frequent police callings and car robberies. They only have 2 exits and they lead straight to traffic and they’re in the middle of 2 neighborhoods. They also put up a car gate without warning and now people can’t get in without the gate key. And they never explained the door call system. So the entrance is always backed up.

It's literally been 20 days since I moved to Cortland Bermuda Lake, and we are constantly having problems. First, on our first night we noticed a strong smell of weed, the complex is smoke free right?! the smell was VERY strong and unbearable, I'm not kidding, we complained, they sent emails “reminding” everyone of the rules but nothing changed, the horrible smell continued every night, until we had to be moved to another apartment, now, In the first and second apartment we had problems with the toilet being clogged, the water simply WON'T GO DOWN! Both times my husband had to unclog it because no one from maintenance showed up for days! (no one has come to see the bathroom in the second apartment yet) Now, the first time I tried to use the laundry in the second apartment, nothing is simply working properly, my clothes are soaked because the machine doesn't spin correctly and now the dryer doesn't want to work ! I have wet clothes that are going to rot because I doubt anyone will show up to fix them. So everyone is aware of the problems we are having, it is not cheap rent here, and it is very expensive when I think about the incompetence in solving problems. Ready to hear the excuses we will receive in the comments.

Nice community, has a pool, grill in the pool area, has a small 24 hour gym, the community takes pride on there grounds. Office staff is so friendly, they have food trucks once a week on property, they do yoga classes and have wine tasting. Pet friendly also do pet contest. Rent is affordable for the area. They have 2 - 3 bedrooms

The staff at Bermuda Lake is amazing! From the management to the leasing agents. Shay helped me and my family move from across the country and made it seamless. Shay made us very happy we will stay here forever!!

I visited these apartments this weekend and Shay was on duty!! Though she was the only one there, she handled the flow of apartment searchers and residents wonderfully! Once we had a chance to sit with her and go on our tour, she was inviting and knowledgeable which made the beautiful property that much more amazing! Gorgeous views, aqua golf, spacious apartments and great residents. I'm looking forward to stopping by the office for coffee and to say hi to Shay once I'm a resident.

A comfortable and quiet place to live surrounded by very good nature

I've lived with Cortland now for just over a year and most recently transferred into a larger unit. The community at Cortland Bermuda Lake is unmatched and in my opinion is superior to anything else you'll find in the Brandon/Tampa area. Alisha and Shea in the office are nothing short of magnificent! They are always there to greet you by name with genuine smiles and offer authentic friendly service. Speedy and responsive maintenance teams were there to assist in getting us into our new unit on such short notice. You'll love the amenities, the 24hr gym, beautiful spa-like pool experience, and the ease of being able to wash your car close to home. And of course, you can't forget those beautiful sunsets surrounded by dancing fountains. You won't regret choosing Cortland Bermuda Lake as your next home. Thanks again team!

So I was approved to move in and everything was go until I was handed my keys and then told I wasn’t able to vape in my home on my porch. The leasing office representatives obviously saw me vaping throughout the tour and never mentioned anything to me. It wasn’t until the manager told me when getting the keys and clarified that there was no smoking anywhere on the property that I would have to walk a mile off the property to enjoy a smoke break. So after sharing my concerns with the manager, why none of this was brought up to me before the whole application process and throughout the approval process. And it just seem like the representative in the office was trying to make her commission. Not really concerned of the needs of the client, but more worried about making numbers on the books. So I immediately rejected everything and ask for my money back. And also was highly upset over the last week driving back-and-forth to get them documents that they needed, and to clarify their system who had mixed up all of our information. I understand that I will lose the initial background run because they actually did a background check but all the extra fees were supposed to be refunded and they’re keeping half of them “just because”. I would say if you’re looking to do good clean business and have a good relationship with your office, don’t go here they will not be crystal clear with what is expected on their behalf and yours.

This community is beautiful but what I enjoy the most is anytime I have an issue with my place or concern that dealing with Alisha is amazing. She always has this bright smile and says that she will take care of things and she does!!! One of the most respectful and polite apartment managers I have ever dealt with and really cares about her community!!!Thank Alisha!

I would literally give them zero stars if I could. The staff here could care less about the customer experience and cares most about money. Seems like they disclosed some important information from my daughter, and almost coerced her into signing a lease just to make a commission check for someone else. And in the end, when the truth was finally exposed to her, and she wanted to back out of everything, they decided to keep some of her money. I would say the staff is very dishonest and misleading.

I have called Cortland home for two years going on three now. I have to say I do love this community, but the main reason I have continued to stay is the great care I always receive from Alisha! She goes above and beyond Is always there to answer my questions and treats everyone with respect! She deserves a raise!

I just moved in and absolutely love this place! Is a hidden charm with a great sunset views and perfect amenities! Alisha Price helped us find our new home and couldn’t have been more helpful in the process.

The sunsets here are unbelievable! We are very lucky to get the opportunity to have our apartment face the water ! My favorite part of my day are the sunsets . It’s very relaxing here and everyone is friendly . Safe place to live , and close to all amenities Florida has to offer . From beaches to airport and great restaurants.

I can’t rave enough about the girls in the leasing office! They make this community feel like home with warm welcomes, an abundance of community activities including game nights, movie nights, and even Holiday getherings! If you ever have an issue, they are understanding and prompt to help you get it resolved! My pup and I are extremely happy living here and love the sense of community they have created 🤍
