Absolutely recommend this "experience" to completely satisfy your need for everything German in your life! The food tastes exactly like I remember it while visiting Munich. Beer? Authentic to the German styles, lagers, Dunkel and Hefeweizen. They play fun music and if you don't order a full liter of beer, you're missing out. They have a store area to buy German treats to take home as well.🇩🇪 I cannot say enough amazing things about this restaurant/brewery!🍻

Saturday at 6pm was packed with a 30-minute wait-time. We all loved our orders, and I would really want to come back. However, it was clear that we were being rushed, as if "yea, hurry up already cause we have people waiting"...we weren't even done and the waiter was already asking about desert choices, another person took a plate that my wife was still working on. I understand that it was a busy night, but it's no excuse for getting customers to rush through what would have really been a wonderful, first-time experience here.

This place was a pretty cool experience but it's not definitely not for everyone. The atmosphere is cool but it's also really cramped inside and it's super loud. The seating situation is also unique and a pretty mixed bag depending on the size of your party. Larger parties get bench seating that don't have any type of back support. It is definitely not desirable and can wear on you if you have any kind of back issues. The food is really good and the portions are ridiculously huge you will not leave hungry. The deli and the little German specialties market are also really cool. I was stoked to find they actually have a fair amount of non alcoholic beers as well, because I have recently given up alcohol but still love beer and wanted one with my meal. Most places have no non alcoholic beer offerings. I definitely suggest you buy some German candies before you go. Again this place is awesome but it feels crowded, the seating isn't very comfortable, and It does get really loud. So you have been warned about that. Everything else though Is awesome. So grab Togo food if cramped and loud turn you off.

Went for dinner on a Friday night.the staff are friendly and the menu also has some vegan options to try. Sausages are the best to try for German food experience. The freshly brewed beer collection is great. Started with the sample collection beer which helps you decide on the one you like.we got a refill for the flavor we liked from the sample.

Super tasty and delicious food. Big portions. Great and patient service. Awesome atmosphere. Very fun place and felt as if we were transported overseas. Deli, candy, and gifts, too. Huge selection of beer. Definitely not expecting the cool ambiance inside by the looks of the outside. Big place inside with a lot of seating. Seating outside too, but inside is way cooler 😎 literally and figuratively! We will return! Parking was sparse. It's in a strip mall so you have to compete with other businesses to park.

First visit, could not be more pleased. Started with a couple of local beers, then got a couple schnitzel entrees. The schnitzels themselves were excellent, and the sides were pretty tasty too. Would definitely return!

Excellent service, amazing variety of beers. Amazing German food like Oma used to make it. A great menu with many choices from sandwiches, lunch and dinner entrées. A great deli to buy sausages and other German delicacies. Also a great variety of German things to buy, like a small supermarket.

For Saturday dinner I was craving for coleslaw. So i searched near me and since I haven't had dinner from Mr. Dunderbak's so I decided to order online from the restaurant. For the food along with Coleslaw i also ordered Fried Breaded Mushroom. I picked the order in 25 minutes. The food ordered was hot especially mushrooms. The mushrooms as well as coleslaw was good and I loved my food. I would definitely be back again to have beer.

Have been coming here for the last several years and have never been disappointed. It’s always busy but for good reason. They have a great beer selection (drinks you won’t find anywhere else) and something about the atmosphere makes you forget you’re in Tampa and not Germany (or at least EPCOT). For food (and as a person of Polish descent) I would definitely recommend the pierogis as they are delicious. If you don’t know what beer to order don’t worry, the staff is always friendly and super knowledgeable so they can make recommendations.

We went to Mr. Dunderbaks for my birthday. The food was excellent (as always), the service was awesome (Jose is awesome) and the beer selection would make any beer geek have an organism. We come here several times a year (not during snowbird season). Highly reccomend eating here.

Guten Tag Y'all! Started our day with a late morning walk through Lettuce Lake Park on the boardwalk. Had to get a small Volksmarch in before the temperatures reached boiling point. We were referred here by a co-worker, and I am seriously happy we followed up on it. I was stationed in Germany from 1984-1987 with the US Air Force at a place called Borfink (no longer in service). Lived in Nuebrucke and Birkenfeld. So obviously, I spent a lot of time eating true German cuisine over the 3 year period. We also moved here from Columbus, Ohio 5 years ago which has a very large German population that includes an Oktoberfest that is second to none in the US; and also has several German eateries that are simply amazing. So, it is interesting that we have found an abundance of German themed restaurants down here in Florida; and all have been remarkably good. Today was no exception. Great food, great service, and great atmosphere. Yes, it is cramped and not easy to navigate the on site market, but that means a packed house, right? Food. I had to have Saurbraten. I think a good one is an indicator of the restaurants German quality. Mine was simply Wunderbar! Probably one of the best since I was in Germany. Others in our group had Jagerschnitzle, Nuremberg Sausage Plate, and a Reuben. We did have a Pretzel and fried mushroom as as a starter. Both good. Also had Black Forest Cake and Apple Struedel for dessert. Amazingly good. A couple house brewed Maibocks were also consumed. Very good and true to the style with that sweet sticky mouthfeel and slightly bitter pop before relaxing into a long dry finish. Prices were fair for the times we are in. Bartender was our server and he was excellent. We sat in the bar and watch a little Fussball while dining and it was nice and relaxing. Out in the main room it was a bit more noisy, but that is to be expected. As far as getting a "true" German gasthaus experience or feeling like a moment reflecting on the visits to Muchen...this does fall a hair short as most of the workers appeared to be students from nearby USF. That is to say, that there were no German accents from the staff. There's a place across the bay that has that part nailed with 2 sisters from Germany. The true question of the day...will we come back? Ja! Sind sie haben eine guten tag!!!! Tchuss!!!

Parking is a little rough. The restaurant is pretty noisy to begin with but the EDM being played took it to another level of noisy. It was a seat yourself deal. Unfortunately, my mom uses a walker and the wall the tables are set up is not friendly for disabled people. After 10 minutes of servers walking around us while we were trying to find a table to accommodate my mom, I finally moved a smaller table out of the way so my mom could squeeze through to a table. I had currywurst. I was not asked if I wanted it boiled or pan fried though it was a choice. I wanted it pan fried but forgot to mention it. It came boiled and barely room temperature. My friend had soup and salad. The beer cheese soup was incredibly thick and not hot enough. My other friends had similar reactions to their food. I went here for a birthday lunch with my friends... And left utterly disappointed. This is not the service I remember from years ago....

Absolutely amazing atmosphere and food. Ordered the JägerSchnitzel and it was extremely tender and juicy. All of the food was extremely flavorful and I could not get enough of the potato pancakes! Service was a bit slow but it was a bit busy and they seemed understaffed which is not their fault. I cannot recommend this place enough! Amazing vegetarian options too!

My family and I have been coming here for several years (and bringing friends!) and truly love this hopping little German restaurant! We nicknamed it the German Cracker Barrel because of the really authentic German decor and gift shop-like environment you enter into from the time you walk in the front door 🚪. Everything my loved ones and I have tried so fad has been very good, even excellently prepared compared to other options. I usually order the Jagerschnitzel which come with two sides (the cucumber 🥒 salad is exceptional.) Definitely do not forget to get an apple strudel with a scoop of vanilla icecream for dessert 🍨, as well. It is simply the yummiest.

1st time eating German food. It was amazing. Best way I can describe it is comfort food. Deep fried battered pork, fries, and cabbage is I ate which was all delicious. The cabbage is called something else as it's fermented cabbage. Service was outstanding and the restaurant is pretty cool. They got a shop inside and plenty of beer. If you don't know what to get ask the waitress to help you decide. They won't go wrong. I told mine to surprise me and I enjoyed my meal.

Went and sat at the bar and had a couple drinks. The hockey game was on and the atmosphere was chill. A great Oktoberfest German beer and good conversation made for a relaxing night. Definitely would go back and get some food next time.

Super glad to find this place! I haven't had good German since I was in Dallas 8 years ago. Mr Dubderbaks has it all, a huge menu, delicious food, lots of good bier, and a market full of all kinds of things.

I haven’t had German food in the U.S. this good except for maybe Bavarian Grill in Plano, TX. The schnitzel is excellent, as are the potato pancakes. My wife and I loved the cozy, eclectic atmosphere inside. I wish they had a few more German beer options (I really missed being able to order Franziskaner Weissbier), but other than that this place is very authentic and delicious.

This place is awesome! The food is great and the beer is cheap. Everyone is super knowledgable and friendly. They also have some beers that are pretty hard to find outside of Europe. Give these two a try next time you stop by.

The sauerbraten is fantastic here as well as the Holstein schnitzel and a 1 liter pilsner or two on tap is a good finish after meal. The delicatessen market place always offers good selection of my favorite chocolates and cheese to go which I can't resist.

Good food. Server was really nice. But wow things were slow getting out. The beer is great. Authentic germen beer and cuisine. Great if you're looking to get lit.

Definitely authentic German food and beers. Tons of German beers available and even some Belgian beer. You can even buy beer bottles to go. The sandwiches are all good, and the kasespatzle is good too. Friendly service plus they are looking to hire more staff. Chad was a true Chad and explained things in the menu well. They have a bar area with TVs, and a family area with German stuff all around.

Omg! Dunderbak's brought back so many memories of our time spent in Germany. The food IS fantastic & service, phenomenal. We all spent $ on merch/snacks/etc while there, as well. Highly recommend & is now my new favorite restaurant. Prost!🍻

We absolutely love this place. Besides excellent German food and a great selection of German beers on tap and bottle, there’s a huge selection of German products at moderate prices. It’s literally everything I like to travel to Germany to buy. Chocolate Edit: 2023 We had another visit the other day and were not too happy. Sauerkraut sides at 4$?? We ordered one and got and had to pay two! Never any sweet mustard with the Weißwürste, and they are not cheap! Overall, it´s getting a little too pricey.

Such a unique gem. German themed interior everywhere you forget you’re in Tampa. Red cabbage Reuben and potato pancakes were amazing. Mushroom schnitzel, cucumber salad, apple sauce, and pretzel roll also great

It's been at least 4 years since my last visit to Mr. Dunderbak's & everything was just as good as I remember. From the knowledgeable server, able to make excellent drink recommendations to the delicious food & large portion sizes. Very glad to see Mr. Dunderbak's is still here & I definitely will not be waiting another 4 years to visit again.

Awesome food, some what crowded, cool gift shop but some what on the high side.(Gift shop). The accordion player came to our table when he arrived, while we were eating, and wanted one of our chairs, my sister's purse was hanging on it, and she was not sitting in it at that time. We told him that the chair was occupied, (you could clearly see a plate of food in front of it.) He said he always used that chair and he wanted it, because it was at the right height for him. He was pompous and rude!! We were all shocked especially one of my family members, because this restaurant was his birthday present. Sincerely, "bad taste in my mouth."

Truly a hidden gem of Tampa! Incredible food, great atmosphere, a large German grocery section, and trivia nights on mondays! We LOVE coming here every time we’re in Tampa.

Tampa/St.Pete trip Part 1 Very much enjoyed eating at this classic and historical German restaurant. So much to look at and an extensive menu. Very busy but most things were tasty. My favorite were the potato pancakes. There were the perfect consistency and very tasty. The perogies were cold but edible .. the sandwhich were delicious and the beer was flowing. Our waiter was very helpful but very busy .. we waited for refills and items but I just think they were just understaffed.. a problem you see too often now. Will return and enjoy trying more German treats!
