Being a resident of Hillsborough , I been coming for YEARS.I used come here every friday night with my parents But unfortunately this will be for sure my last visit. I order mostly now to go and never again. I would say 8 out of 10 times they have messed up the order or forget to add the things that come with a order. Then have to go all the way back to the restaurant and grab the remaining things. Tonight when calling I explained to the hostess that please make sure everything is correct because in the past something is always not correct , i got a okay and guess what? Everything not there. Its sad. I ordered a grilled chicken sandwich with chips. It is supposed to come with lettuce tomato and pickle, well there was no lettuce, tomato and pickle. Yes it may seem petty but when all u get is bread and grilled chicken for $15+ thats not right either(i could have made that at home) They did the same thing with a turkey club in the past. Which was even worse! It was a load of turkey on a ROLL with nothing else. I am sorry but unfortunately i can not support this business any longer. This place is really a joke these days.

Large yet cozy decor. Dining area on one side the bar on the other with large outdoor dining area available from the time of the pandemic. The Cosmo cocktail inspired a Fig Cosmo, was good but a slightly too sweet for me. The Best of the Wurst was very solid, the sautéed apple slices mixed with the beetroot and cabbage were an excellent garnish. The ahi tuna salad was amazing. A generous portion with wide variety of greens, including green beans and the dressing made the tuna just right. The ahi tuna was seared just right, pink on the inside, slightly smoky with sesame seeds on the outside. Uncommon food for a seemingly common bar restaurant. Bravo.

Delicious. A little pricey ($80 for 3 dishes + small desert + tips) but worth it once in a while. Very clean and pleasant atmosphere, would go again! The food is 8/10.

UPD: We ordered burgers again today and i am changing my rating to 4 star. The food was excellent, definitely the best burgers in the area. Also they changed their containers for burger toppings to clear plastic which makes it easier to check the quality. Got a moldy tomatoes with one of the burgers, looks like quality control issue. Good thing i looked at it before putting it on the burger. The burgers were good though, i wish i could give them a better rating.

Everything was wonderful, plenty of vegan and gluten free options. I was pleasantly surprised. *we ordered california vegan burger on gluten free bun & steak fries, gluten free chicken tenders, bang bang spicy shrimp and fish tacos. All delicious! And it was all great to enjoy on the outdoors patio. My only "complaint" was the service. but this won't detour me from visiting again.

Attended a 50th birthday party here last night. The staff were all very attentive and helpful, especially our server Lauren. She was absolutely amazing with a party of 25 people. She was on top of everyone's needs, provided suggestions for guests that were unsure about what meals to get, and was a pro at directing where meals were going as they came out. She was so good that one of the kids was asking where she was to make sure she could say goodbye before leaving. Food was excellent, atmosphere was welcoming, and we will definitely be returning in the future.

Very extensive menu designed to meet a wide variety of tastes.--- from pizza to a burger to salad to dinner entrees. Their signature Tomato Soup is great, and when combined with a Grilled Cheese Sandwich, you have an old school classic. The servers are wonderful, and it's all value-priced.

We had a reception here after dad's memorial service. The staff was great and everyone loved the food. We had the area off the bar reserved and it was cozy, but worked great. The food came out as promised and I heard many positive comments. The perogis were my favorite, but everything was very tasty. Special shout out to our server, Rachel. She totally crushed it, was fast, friendly and professional. Thank you!

I had my daughter's baby shower here. From the moment I met with the manager, I was impressed. Dylan worked closely with me answering all of my questions and was very accommodating with my requests. A few days before the event, I spoke directly with the head server that would be overseeing the baby shower to discuss the details (table/room setup, dietary restrictions, etc.). On the day of the event, the wait staff was very friendly, attentive, and professional. In addition to outstanding service, the food was delicious!

My husband and I have been patrons of Old Man Rafferty's since our college days at Rutgers back in 1998! We have truly enjoyed taking our boys to share a family meal and reminisce together over the years. Our most recent visit was on a Sunday evening at the Hillsborough location. A small group of six of us decided to have dinner together after a football game. It was not too crowded or warm, so we decided to sit outside in their spacious outdoor seating area. Our waitress was just lovely and especially patient considering we were a table of 6 to begin with, 4 of which were energetic and rambunctious teenage boys! We were all happy with our meal and drink selections, surprise surprise! 😀 The casual feel and relaxed ambiance were just right, our waitress and staff were very attentive throughout even though we were a little far removed outside. The prices are fairly reasonable, especially considering the consistently generous portion sizes and the (high) quality food products they serve. Although happy (to overhear) a unanimous consensus Old Man Rafferty's a "win," I was simply overjoyed when our youngest said, "Now I'm a big fan, too!"

Haven't been back since we moved out of town and stopped by today. We chose to sitboutside on this summer like day. The menu changes look awesome. Had the Mediterranean Platter which was nice portion and all fresh. We shared the lobster roll and was awesome. The cut on the French fries was different as it was crispy like a potato chip but hearty like mashed potatoes. Our server was Lauren, delight to deal with. Friendly, polite, and sense of urgency. Can't wait to go back as the salad section on the menu looks very appetizing.

Great food - my burger was if good quality beed and prepared perfectly. Others at my table enjoyed their food as well. The place is known for their deserts and the wide variety of deserts that they have. But they are expensive. I had soda because I couldn't see paying $14 or more for a mixed drink. Others at my table had water. None of the 5 adults at my table had alcohol. One of these days, restaurants will wake up and realize that they'll sell more drinks if they lower the price to a more reasonable level. But again, great food prepared well.

I was in the area right before Valentine’s Day and wanted to try this place. I came here on a Friday and it was very busy. I found a high top table available in the bar area, and was seated. I was given a drink menu and my bf and I ordered a couple of cocktails. Old Man Rafferty’s has a large menu, there’s something for everyone. Anything from Appetizers, Starters and Shares, Kiddos, Soups, Salads, Burgers and Sliders, Hand Helds, Taco Meals,Pizzas, and Entrees. I shared their Coconut Shrimp with Fig Duck Sauce. The Shrimp were a nice size. It was good, the Coconut Shrimp were crispy and the fig duck sauce was a nice addition. It gave a sweet component. I also tried their French Onion Soup. It was served with a caramelized onion and Swiss cheese flat bread. The soup was good, and the flatbread was a nice accompaniment. For my entree I chose their Meatloaf with Mashed Potatoes, Peas and Carrots and Beef Gravy. Their meatloaf reminded me more of Salisbury Steak then meatloaf. I didn’t taste any veggies in it. Their mashed potatoes were excellent and the peas and carrots were fresh and very good. My bf ordered their Kurobuta Pork Shank Osso Bucco with Mashed Potatoes, Honey Glazed String beans and Carrots. This is fairly new on their menu and my bf enjoyed his meal. We were very full and didn’t order dessert. They have a nice dessert menu.They do offer special requests, Vegan and Gluten Free dishes. Our service could’ve been better. I asked my server Rachel 3xs to please bring me a menu after we ordered. I wanted to check out something on it. I finally got one from another server, she kept forgetting to bring me one. Our food was delivered to our table by another server. Rachel was very nice but disappeared a lot. She checked on us after we got our cocktails and food, and finally when we got the bill. Once we were done and got our bill, it took another 15 mins or so to check out. I guess there are a lot of regulars in the bar area which adds to a lot of distractions. The atmosphere is casual and comfortable.The lighting is on the dark side. In the bar area are some high tops and in the back are some tables separate from the dining room. Old Man Rafferty’s also has outdoor seating in the warmer months. They have a huge parking lot, and I believe this place is wheelchair accessible. They do have handicap parking. This restaurant is a good place to bring kids. They have a kids menu. I would return to try other things on their menu. The cocktails are very good. The portions are large and the atmosphere is warm and comfortable. Great local business with ties to the community. The food is great with a well thought out menu, and the people are awesome. Our waitress Rachel was amazing, never wrote down a thing but got our order perfect. Will continue to come back again and again.

Interesting restaurant. The food we ordered was classic American..burger and nachos, which seemed to be a mismatch to the atmosphere...not a bad thing, just Interesting. We liked out food and the menu was diverse. Atmosphere was nice and relaxing. We enjoyed our visit and would recommed.

For lunch had the seared Ahi Tuna in greens salad that was fresh and tasty, a few craft beers, and nice chat with the bartender. Quite a spacious place and an attractive outdoor seating area. Conversations between servers and patrons leads me to believe this is a favorite place for the locals. Only ask, if they haven't explored already, offer a larger variety of craft beers especially from local breweries.

Used to be one of our favorite restaurants when we lived in the area years ago. Now that we are back, there is a good chance it will be again. The new menu has some wonderful items, the always spectacular deserts are even more amazing as individual cakes and our dinner was fantastic. Servers were beyond attentive!!! Thanks for making it a great anniversary dinner!

My beef rib was DELICIOUS! better than my husband's steak. Serving sizes are great but the service was really slow. It was really busy but 30 minutes to get a salad is ridiculous. The table of 6 next to us got there food right before us and they came in 20 minutes after us. All in all I will return. They have a vast menu and I want to try other things.
