People queuing 8 deep at the tills, no staff rectifying the situation. Pushing the card payment self service too much. I try not to use it much as the customer help desk is never manned and it it is the poor server has to flit between that and the lottery and cigarette department. Poorly organised

When in to quickly grab some late lunch after a driving test and were there less than 30mins. I took a quick look at their parking notice and saw free parking if shopping at Sainsbury's, which I was. All other supermarkets have the same rules so I thought this must be the same. Oh but it's not!! Take care of the small writing in brackets further down the notice that you need some kind of validation. This is such an old system and complicated that you have to stand there and read a novel!! I tried to appeal but rejected and so had to pay £70 for shopping at Sainsbury's for lunch!! They're website said I would get a response to my appeal in writing thinking it's gonna be a letter. No letter came through except the PNC of increased amount! Search through my email and there was an email of the appeal! Just tired of it all and paid it. NEVER again and will NOT recommend this Sainsbury's!! They need to update their system where the first 2hrs are free like all other supermarkets, Morrisons, Asda, etc. I'm appalled that Sainsbury's would allow this daylight robbery scheme to be setup for them!!

Big spacious store. Clean and with friendly helpful staff. Toilets available. Loads of parking available below store. Elevators, esculators, and stairs to the shop. However, I can always feel the floor moving, makes me feel a little sick, and want to leave lol

Went 9pm Saturday and they had a bit of funk and then some smooth Jazz playing. They just needed some comfy sofas in the alcohol aisle and the lights dimmed a bit and it'd be the best night in Hinckley. Was a lovely relaxed shopping experience though.

Real hypermarket which make other Sainsburys look small! Used Argos there to pick up a USB connector. Very efficient and friendly staff,

Was charged 70 pounds for shopping here even after I sent proof of my shop there. I did a large grocery shop and forgot to validate my receipt. I was sent a ticket for 70 pounds. I tried to appeal but they denied me even when I sent them proof of purchase. I will never shop here again.

Appaling customer service. Some employees are very rude. Spoke to management and it's not helping either. Manager very condensending and bossy. I like the products and food but feel a bit upset about the treatment I reviewed on couple occasions.

Very friendly staff at this Sainsbury's, no offense to Coventry but here the staff are so much more helpful. And will go above and beyond for you. They are a credit to the supermarket chain and I will most definitely be going here to shop again.

It's not good service tonight. They were short staffed and no one covering customer services. I had to use the self-service because none of the checkouts were open, and when I needed assistance, no one came, even when I asked a member of staff. Other people had similar issues. After asking again, the shift manager came out to help and sorted out my problem with the checkout.

Parking is very convenient for Sainsbury's, the gym and the Crescent. Sainsbury's is a great store, but understaffed. On self service you can be waiting a few minutes for the employee to be able to resolve your issue with the machine. The toilets are 50/50 in working order. Otherwise, I love the handheld scanners, my 2yr old enjoys scanning the shopping and packing as we go around. All round good store.

I will never set foot in any Sainsbury store anywhere in the country again. I stopped here to buy and eat a Sandwich whilst on the road with work, and received a £70 Parking Charge for giving them my custom. On entry a screen displays your plate on a faded display and you just have time to read on a small print sign that there are restrictions for non-Sainsbury customers. To read that you have to actually validate parking, you would have to park in the middle of the road and read it before driving on. Because I paid cash for my sandwich, I have no course of appeal. Absolutely pathetic.

Plenty of undercover parking, free if you’re using the store for less than a couple of hours. Nice big store with plenty of choice; clothing, homewares, toys sections too. Also contains other outlets in the open-plan store; Argos and food outlets coming soon

Great selection and product quality, but not the best staff wise. Stood at the customer service desk for 10 minutes trying to ask for a parking voucher. Asked a staff member, was brushed off and told he couldn't do it, multiple staff worked around me and saw me standing there and did nothing to help me. The service desk is usually unmanned because they don't employ enough staff, but I've never been brushed off by a staff that was behind the counter like that. Nothing to tell you that there is no need to pay for parking if you park after 6pm, no sign, no attempt made by staff to inform you, yet there are all the signs posted when they can't deal with lottery tickets... Yeah.. Ok.

It's a good store with friendly staff and a good selection. It is very handy having an Argos in the store. However, be careful of the parking as they are super aggressive at trying to charge you fees, especially if you do nothing wrong. Always get a receipt for your parking interaction. It once took me 7 weeks to get a bogus charge removed. This might not be Sainsburys fault, but it's the parking they have.

First time at Hinckley. Certainly a bit different to Rugby, not least with the elevator but clever the way the trolley locks onto it to stop it rolling away. Assured by a customer and by a member of staff that the parking restrictions didn't apply after 6pm so didn't need to scan the receipt before leaving.

This is a good size sainsbury's. I always find everything I need for my shopping list and a lot more as well. A good shopping experience

I feel like I have to leave a comment cause the team here is just amazing. Literally everyone who works here make such a big difference to the whole grocery shopping experience. They're always pleasant, treat you with kindness, do everything they can to help whatever the issue is and it's not coincidence as our family have been regular customers for years now. So thank you everyone who works here, you guys are wonderful. Hope Sainsbury's appreciates you as much as we do.

Visited this cafe today for a quick bite to eat and coffee, unfortunately the coffee never arrived even after making two enquiries, requested a refund and the guy offered to do them straight away, explained we had finished eating and despite asking prior to finishing eating he seemed to not want to give a refund and was quite argumentative about my request. I explained it was not good enough and I don’t want to argue just a refund which he eventually did. In future I’ll use the cafe in town. Very disappointed.

Spacious shopping area. Wide varieties to choose from. Best store for kids uniforms. Efficient staff.

  • 3/5 Christine S. 6 months ago on Google
I cannot say anything bad about the shop as it's really well stocked with fresh vegetables and my absolute favourite East Asian Ingredients. However once you are at level 0 the situation is different, smashed walls, spit covering the elevator mirror...it's revolting. I don't want to blame the shop as this is results of extremely bad parenting but I believe this has to be addressed by limiting the car park access for the little bike riding t*rds and their friends

Very large store with all the usual produce and a large clothing area. On the first floor but with escalators and lifts. It also forms part of a larger shopping complex. Large carpark under the store either paid parking depending upon the length of time stayed or on a voucher for free parking.

Just keeps getting worse - in the mornings no tills are open self service only - fruit and veg is poor sometimes rotten… some of the staff are rude (others are really good and friendly however) - complained a while back about a faulty electrical product I purchased and was told they wouldn’t do anything about it… they were rude, showed no interest and refused to exchange or refund…. I was totally shocked by their attitude from such a retailer

Went to do our weekly shop and was going to get some veg too. Got put off buying cauliflower on this occasion though because one of the cauliflowers was mouldy. Other than that we love shopping here.Parking undercover too and a nice cafe for a coffee stop.

We came here to do some step and shop training with a guide dog puppy. The staff were very polite, helpful and accomodating. The store was clea and well maintained with fresh produce and a good range of products.

What can I say? It's a supermarket, nothing too exciting about that... Location is good as right in the town centre. Near to bus station and has ample parking. Don't forget to ask for a car park voucher if you are using the car park. Staff are friendly and staff on customer service desk are very helpful. Has a good range of clothes and electricals.

Just got home on the 5th June after shopping here. Sainsbury's double chocolate cookies (which appear to have shrunk considerably) are out of date. Shouldn't have even been on the shelf. Also, the staff here (a bit like a lot of other Sainsbury's) seem to bizarrely incessantly move the stock around to different locations. It might give the staff something to do but it is infuriating for customers.

Good place mostly always clean. Friendly staff, staff are very approachable and I would recommend going there for a shop or a browse. Has a cafe, toilets, clothes area, an argos and a watch-man. Definitely recommend. Also has a gym 💪

100% better than the Nuneaton store which is my nearest. Hinckley is bright, clean, stocks are kept up to date. One star lost as the staff they have are brilliant but they need more staff especially early morning.

Regular place for shopping. Sales items never failed to disappoint me. Free parking if you spent min £5 there

Large bright store. Limited free parking for customers but read the signs for restrictions as you could get a £70 fine. We were nearly caught out.

I used to rate Sainsbury's very highly but recently short use by dates on fresh meat and fish, lack of choice and variety with fresh fruit and veg have made me feel a little sad about having to give them 4 stars but I am disappointed. I love smart shop, it's absolutely the best thing about Sainsbury's. When you're pushed for time it's quick and efficient. I just feel Sainsbury's fresh food have really struggled over the last year and I don't feel I can rely on them for my everyday essentials like fresh salmon, minced beef, lamb etc. I have recently visited Aldi, Morrisons and Tesco and I have to say Sainsbury's really need to up their game on the fresh front. I have been a dedicated Sainsbury's shopper for over 30 years and this is the first time I have felt the need to say please improve, I'm increasingly disappointed.

This place is a confusing store and a strange setup. Nice and clean throughout though. The car park voucher system is a pain in the backside and so I ended up paying parking because I couldn't be bothered to ask the staff.

Only 1 cheerful but hard working staff member on checkouts despite a call out to staff to assist as the queue went back up an aisle. ( who checks that staff actually appear?) Not good to see another member of staff swanning about in full view of the queue obviously having private chats with an incoming staff member and then a customer who was obviously a friend as she was showing them things on her personal phone! 5 stars to Sue, the hard working person single handedly sorting out the queue but 3 stars to the managers for poor staff management and letting 1 person do so little. Appreciate she may have been deployed in a different role but to be seen so obviously socialising by waiting customers is not good.

Goods were substitited with ridiculous items eg I ordered a £1 tube of Macleans toothpaste which was substituted with an £18 tube of Colgate whitening toothpaste, 8 cartons of sugar free oat milk were replaced with full sugar oat milk. Bazaar. I was refunded but I later checked and I was £1.80 short. Had to ring the next day and was kindly offered a £5 voucher but then told that I had to use the £6.80 on an online order. Why couldn't they add it to the £35 they were refunding me for missing items and unwanted substitutions?

No employees at the till after 8pm, forcing people to use 'self service' gives this supermarket 3 STARS instead of 5 STARS. Think about the BLIND, ELDERLY and LESS ABLE people when you refuse to have human check outs as a systematic rule.

As good as ever. Some items cheaper than others, but a balanced price range. A few issues with the car park, but dealt with
