We had a fantastic day at the railway. All the staff were really friendly and helpful. The barman on the train even came around and took advance orders for the return trip which were then brought to our compartment. The line runs through nice scenery. The locomotive was Wightwick Hall. The museum is packed with exhibits. Recommend.

Enjoyed our day out with grandsons for eldest one's birthday. Younger one aged five said, "What a lovely day we've had!" The birthday boy who was eight loved the Victorian tea room, unfortunately not the food as he's very fussy! Both enjoyed exploring the museum whilst waiting for the train. Staff were chatty, friendly and informative. Coal fires warmed us nicely on a chilly day in December.

Great afternoon out if you like heritage railways. Short trip 20 mins each way with cafe and shop at each end. Lots of old stock to look at. Shops at each station selling train memorabilia. No milk on the train for hot drinks on our trip out but this was collected ready for the return journey. Service for refreshments at the station was very slow but luckily the driver was also waiting, so it didn't leave without us πŸ˜†

Lovely little line in the countryside. Set in a lovely location, where you are not near big towns or cities, and you can be at one with nature. The scenery is also lovely on either side of the line during the ride. The running engines and coaches kept in superb condition. And The Staff are friendly and helpful to visitors too. Recommend a visit to anyone.

We’ve just enjoyed a magical afternoon on the Santa Special. Santa was very authentic and our 2 year old grandson loved the experience. All the volunteers were helpful and friendly. Our box of β€˜goodies’ (included in the ticket price) was waiting for us in the compartment and included a bottle of wine as well as sweet and savoury snacks. My only negative comment would be that the goodies box contained too much junk. Once on the train you could order mulled wine and a festive sandwich but these were at an additional cost.

Attended the model show 2023, warmly welcomed by the show staff and very helpful whilst setting up. Brilliant show for a first time, plenty to see. The food on site whilst a bit pricey was excellent, thoroughly recommend the chorizo burgers. Trains running all weekend and driver for a fiver on a shunting loco. Can't wait to come back next year

It was ok. It felt very disorganised for our mince pie train. They ticked us off then that was it. We had never been before and did not know we had to be on the other platform. We got off at Shenton to get a drink but could not find the cafe.

Enjoyable visit to Shackerstone seeing the old mainline diesels, and the staff were so helpful. Also visited Market Bosworth Station to see the class 02 , and class 11 shunters.

Vintage trains and vintage stations. Free parking. Charity shop in a railway carriage at Shackerstone AND a cafe. Get off at Shenton for a trip over to Bosworth Battlefield Visitors Centre. Plus you can visit the canal foe a walk. This is a full day out exploring if you plan it well and take a picnic. :)

We had purchased a Gold Diesel Drivers experience day for my father in law and he absolutely loved it. Got a good 3 hours of driving in. The line isn't massive, but it does have a couple of superb really old stations and tea rooms etc. At the Bosworth end is a walk upto the Bosworth battlefield visitors centre which only takes about 15 minutes. Superb day out, highly recommend.

Great little coffee shop here. We bumped into volunteers that work on the trains and the line. Very informative on upcoming events being held here. They are all passionate about the lovely Station and Railway. Nice coffee, good selection of fabulous cakes, small but more than adequate menu , fresh and made to order. Come and support this great little place! πŸ™‚

The best Christmas train ride we have ever had. It was my son's birthday too, which was made extra special from the gift he received from Santa. Wonderful staff, really friendly and helpful, excellent value for money from the journey to the prices for drinks and snacks, highly recommended. Please support this train line, they care a great deal about your experience. We will definitely be revisiting and booking again for next year

A fabulous experience , great value for money. Traditional open fire in waiting room and cafe. A steam engine captivates ..sat in first class compartment and enjoyed a mince pie when the ticket collector called by. Would recommend, will be returning.

Welcoming more gentle paced preserved railway. When I was there a fellow Scot was visiting in the shape if a steam locomotive.

It is always a pleasure to visit this unspoiled Victorian station in the countryside. With its good collection of railway memorabilia, and a pleasant tea room it is a great place to visit. Check their website to find what trains and engines are running. The blue Caledonian tank engine was built in 1907.
