Incredible place. The hot volcanic water burst out. Muddy and hot. There is a hotel if you like to stay here. You can come here by car or by bus. I saw a bus stop there. It is not very often though. Just 2-3 times a day. You can have an outdoor bath. There is a male and female sections. They are all public type, Japanese style. The scenery is spectacular. 600 yen per adult.

Very nice. The volcanic eruptions and the baths in the same place. The open air baths with little fence allows you to view surrounding nature from the bath tab. Indoor bath is less characteristic.

Located in the mountains means getting there is an adventure! The place is surrounded by hot springs and has outdoor bath, however, you have to walk a pretty long way on gravel to get there! Everything looks a bit tatty, including the rooms! Food was generally served cold which might have to do with lack of staff! If you want to rough it a bit, that’s the place ! But not for the fairly steep price!!

(Translated by Google) I visited on a day trip in 2019! I found a photo so I'll review it! This cannot be visited while the Hachimantai Aspite Line is closed! There is no shower in the open air, so you may get a smell of sulfur on your clothes (I got a smell and it didn't come off (laughs)) You should also be careful about wild animals (bears)!

(Translated by Google) It is a hot spring that appeared in Yoshiharu Tsuge's manga. There was a shrine in the inn, and the things that appeared in the manga were enshrined. I feel that the atmosphere of manga still remains. The open-air bath is open-air anyway, but it is too secluded, so even women can enter with peace of mind. It is a hot spring that you want to stay forever. We recommend that you stay overnight and enjoy the hot springs. The room was also renovated and clean with a toilet. Stayed for one night in October 2022. Not many people were there, the rooms were very old, and there was no heater in the room. Outside was 3 degrees Celsius when I arrived and it was getting colder. I did not measure the room temperature but my room was VERY cold. Food was good, hot springs were fantastic. I would not recommend an overnight stay, just a day to the hot springs

(Translated by Google) Use for day trip hot springs. The famous open-air bath felt smaller than it looked on YouTube. Mixed bathing in open-air baths in the middle of nature is wonderful, but I think it is quite reluctant for women to enter in full view of the surroundings. There are men's and women's open-air baths, but they are small. You can see the scenery of changing clothes from the bathroom. Since it is along the passage, the women's bath can be seen because the board of the enclosure has a gap.

To get to this rustic ryokan, I recommend to drive there. The jounery there, we enjoyed the great view of the autumn surrounding. I find the room is relatively big. Instead of usually futon setup on the floor, they have futon beds. We were the only foreigners during our stay. The staff here mostly knows very little English. Sometime, we need to use Google Translate to communicate. Nevertheless, the staff did their best in the communication. To reach the outdoor onsen, we have to walk quite a distance downhill. The view was quite nice, surrounded by autumn trees, and volcanio hot springs. The onsen is quite open. Do take note that, the bathing time is limited to the Sun light. There is no light leading to there.
