千波湖は、水戸の市街地の近くにある、偕楽園公園の一部に位置する、市民の憩いの場所です。 湖の周りを1周する3Kmの遊歩道が、車道と分離されて整備されているので、散歩やジョギングする人で連日賑わっています。 湖の中央には大きな噴水があり、定期的に水が高く上がります。 また、白鳥や黒鳥や鳩等の鳥がたくさんいて、人に慣れていて近くに寄って来るので、眺めていると癒やされます。 偕楽園から歩いてもすぐなので、公園と湖をいっしょに楽しめますよ！ 駐車場の横に、蒸気機関車のD51が、良い状態で保存されていて、運転席に登る事ができます。 敷地内に、好文カフェや売店もありますので、休憩もできます。 更に、スワンボートで、湖内の遊覧もできます。 芸術館タワーや京成百貨店、偕楽園の好文亭等を近くに眺めながら休日をゆっくり過ごしたり、ジョギングで汗を流すには、最適な場所だと思います。

自宅から2km弱のコチラはランニングコースとして主に活用させてもらってます。 四季折々さまざまな表情を見せる千波湖は動植物の憩いの地でもあり、多くの訪問者を魅せています。 季節に沿ったイベントもボランティアの方を中心に行われてます。

Senba Lake isn't very known by tourists but deserve to be visited for sure, you can ride many kind of boats, pedalo, electric boat... in the surrounding you can take a rest in one the coffees and taste the sweets of the region, there is a big green space with beautiful gardens, it's 2 hours from Tokyo via tsukuba station where you can take a direct bus to Mito

This lake is very pretty and has lots of interesting spots to stop and take pictures or just enjoy the view. There's a walkway all around the lake that's popular with runners, but is also good for a casual stroll with a nice view of the water.
