A beautiful restaurant with a very wide selections of Vietnamese food at a reasonable price. Good food, good environment, very lively atmosphere and good crowd. Service could be better and faster so we don't have to remind them what we have ordered.

I've been there 2 times. The First time Everything was perfect! The second time, I was not satisfied For food and service, Perhaps because it was later and the service was tired and not very patient. Also while I was eating they started to clean the tables near mine, with detergents with a very strong smell, totally destroying my appetite. For now I give 3 stars. I want to go back a third time to decide the final result. I wish I could give 5 stars because the first time was amazing! Update June 2023. After another business dinner at Ngon, i can say for sure 4 stars! I cannot wait for the next time.

This restaurant has garnered popularity among tourists, evident from the predominantly foreign diners it attracts. Adorned with an appealing colonial-style decor, the ambience adds a unique touch to the dining experience. In addition to Vietnamese dishes, the menu extends to encompass Chinese cuisine as well. However, the service leaves something to be desired; it's rather lackluster and tends to be time-consuming, especially when requesting the bill. Unfortunately, the culinary aspect doesn't quite measure up to the establishment's reputation. The quality of the food doesn't align well with the prices charged. Specifically, the spring rolls are marred by overly dried and thick skin, prompting the decision to abandon consuming it altogether. Similarly, the skewers are plagued by overcooking, rendering the meat disappointingly dry. Adding an unexpected twist to the scene, a wild cat was observed roaming within the restaurant during our visit. If your goal is to savor authentic Vietnamese flavors, it might be wise to explore other dining options that promise a more satisfying culinary experience. However, if your interest lies primarily in immersing yourself in the ambiance, this restaurant could still serve as a passable choice for inquisitive tourists.

After a visit at the Independence Palace, I checked for a Vietnamese restaurant close by. The offer is great, but I checked the reviews and photos of this place before visiting. A lot of people were impressed with the decor of it. I have to admit, when you step inside it really is impressive, however after finding that all plants are made of plastic you might look with different eyes. The food was average. Had much better food in many other Ho Chi Minh restaurants.

Very nice decor... Rustic old colonial charm. Food wise is above average but I was impressed with their speed to serving dishes. Food selection is wide. Many things to try. Do really leave some space for dessert. That should not be missed. No so good : a bit warm.. but not hot. A lot of tourist

Food taste is okay ~ I don't know what this soup is but it's very strange. But what I like to repeating is the spring rolls it’s good!!! This restaurant, nicely decorated and spacious. But the staff is quite difficult to call even the customer not much.

I have dined here 3 years ago, and the restaurant serves rhe same delicious Vietnamese food as I remember. They have outdoor and indoor dining area. The staffs are a bit overwhelmed, and we have to repeat our orders several times, but it's still OK. Will definitely dine here again.

Food was okay, but nothing special compared to what you can get in other places. It is more expensive though. The place is beautiful, they have a terrace and also indoor seating. Service was nothing special. A lot of waiters so it was fast, but they weren’t so nice. The best dish we had was the banana cake dessert.

This place basically caters specifically to tourists. This isn't necessarily a bad thing but the staff barely spoke English and we had a hard time with explaining dietary restrictions. The food quality is about what you would expect from a restaurant with a such a huge menu. Very average and very bland with no taste. Nothing tasted fresh and exciting. There is also a huge staff and they kept walking around us all the time which was uncomfortable. The atmosphere and design is nice and lush but ironically all the plants are fake plastic ones so I guess it doesn't really count. There's no air conditioning just a couple of fans. Overall not an enjoyable experience.

A pretty horrible experience with poor ventilation, blatant racism, and horrible service. Food: Well, the food is okay. The menu is too big with repetitions and no clear differences to a foreigner. Everything other than the Pho took a long time to arrive. The taste was decent but not worth the exorbitant prices that they are charging. Ambience: The space is well made but very poorly ventilated. Hot and sweaty everywhere. The atmosphere in general was bad. There was a couple literally changing outfits right next to us (check video) and the staff didn't say anything. Attitude and Service: Horrible. People were made to wait at the main gate while the top floor was empty. The service was bad, with no interest in taking the order, giving the cutlery and tissues, and then the food was delivered without any description. The bill payment experience was the worst where the guy dragged me along to the counter for card payment instead of bringing the machine to the table. When asked about payment via USD they claimed a conversion rate with a mark up of 15%.

A nice Vietnamese restaurant for big group or small group of visitors. They have had many local Vietnamese food for you to chose from. It’s been old now, and the hygiene needed some attention-we saw flies around or situating in the food well exposed without covers. The place near the toilet area of the ground floor was wet.

Walked in last min around 6pm+ and amazed by the food presentation. Yes, though it’s covered with artificial flowers with lots of red painted walls.. it had its own lure & charm. The food looked good and actually tastes yummy too. Love the spread of drinks, I ordered lemongrass-liked it wasn’t too sweet like some places. Service is very prompt and friendly. Waiters were polite and patient. Large restaurant. Many little corners for privacy, some parts had large noisier foyer, alfresco style dinning: Can get busy. Happy that there’s lots of fresh clean herbs, salads and soups! 5 of us had a great meal!

Nice ambience, full of people. Food is mediocre. Staff seems friendly but reluctant to give good service. Order a blue lemonade drink for my 10 year old and it had alcohol. Did mention this to staff as this was not indicated on the menu. Staff response was that they will better inform other staff. No indication of taking the drink back.

Very nice restaurant! We were a group of four and selected seven different Vietnamese dishes. The food here was really good, compared to other restaurants we've tried the quality was very good. The staff was very friendly (up to the point where they felt they received too little tip) The environment was very nice, but as you are sitting outside it can be quite noisy from the street, but it was nothing that disturbed us. Highly recommended.

I am impressed with the interior when I enter the restaurant. The architecture is impresive with beautiful decoration. But, when it came to the food, I was surprisingly disappointed. I order broken rice with pork chop and fried spring roll (recommended by the waitress). Pork chop is bland and more to the sweet side, which is weird to my taste bud.. fried spring roll is super oily. Dipping sauce not special. So, in general I cannot enjoy my meal. The first and only failure meal in Vietnam so far.

We were so excited to eat here, we ordered 7 dishes between two people and only one was good, not great. If you’re expecting great Vietnamese food, I’d suggest you eat somewhere else, you’ll be quite disappointed (as we were). Beautiful decor and good service, staff were really friendly and helpful. Am thanking the stars I didn’t take my Vietnamese parents here…. hahaha….

If you're looking for a truly exceptional dining experience in Vietnam, we highly recommend checking out this restaurant. From the moment we set foot inside, we were blown away by the vibrant, modern decor and bustling atmosphere. Despite the crowds, we felt completely at ease in the comfortable and well-appointed space. But the real star of the show here is the food. Each dish we ordered was an absolute delight, with complex and nuanced flavors that had us swooning with pleasure. We can honestly say that this is the first restaurant where we've given every single dish a full five stars - a truly rare feat. If you want more reviews and recommendations from Ho Chi Minh and Malaysia, make sure to check us out on Instagram by supporting iamcynditravel.

The restaurant is unique in the sense that it has an ambience that gives a feel of dining in the middle of a garden. In the hustle bustle of crowded streets and busy markets of Ho Chi Minh city, it comes as welcome change. The place is so artistically created with greenery all around, that the food becomes secondary. The restaurant staff is well groomed to be extremely polite and courteous to every customer, as is so evident. Nonetheless, it is worth highlighting that the food was absolutely amazing and for a vegan like a few in our group, the taste was unique and appealing to the palate. This is a sure place not to be missed if w visiting Ho Chi Minh city.

They served authentic Vietnamese food and every dish my wife and I had was delicious. I’ve never seen a menu with so many items. As soon you walk in you see this beautiful restaurant filled with flowers, plants and trees (which we found they were all made of plastic). Try it you cannot go wrong.

We visited here for dinner and were excited by the vibrant decor and bustling atmosphere. We ordered the fish in clay pot with sour soup, assortment of rice cakes, and beef noodle stir fry. The fish was a very small portion and very fatty. The rice cakes were a bit too salty and just not to our taste, perhaps good if you are familiar with them. The stir fry was good. The prices were reasonable, but the service was slow and the restaurant was huge—we were seated in a corner upstairs rather in the nice space outside.

One of the traditional restaurants offering Thai, Vietnamese, Korea, China and Japan. Ample quantity with authentic taste. The restaurant is normally full in evenings so do reserve before hand. The whole building is old and interesting. Service is fast! Do try fried pork and crab sausages with pork balls and pork soup! Soup Quantity is enough for two to three people!

The quality of the food here is great, the soups are delicious and the portions quite big. The menu is very long and includes Vietnamese, Korean, Japanese, Thai and Chinese food. Will take you some time to make a decision. Pain point: they don't have all the dishes on the menu, so after a long time spent choosing you might need to go through thAt again while ordering, with the waiter telling you directly if the dish is available or not. I got rejected 5 different soups before I got mine, but was really tasty. I'd suggest a shorter menu making sure everything is available.

(Translated by Google) Prices are for foreigners. For that amount, the food is first-class! The main customers are Westerners, Japanese, and local rich people. Since it is a restaurant that is incorporated into lunch and dinner for airline tours, Japanese customers are being taken to Tourkon, but they are Japanese people who do not want me to come. Since you can speak English, please come and enjoy Vietnam as an individual customer. It's open air, so be prepared for the heat!

My wife and I came and hoped to enjoy a lovely dinner together. We originally ordered 3 dishes (banh tam bi, bun mang ga, canh bun) so we can both try different dishes. My wife finished my first dish (bun mang ga) and started to have reaction to msg “bot ngot”, something we didn’t expect to be used in a decent/semi high-end restaurant. My wife started to have a bad headache and numbness in her chest and her face. I asked to speak with the manager of the restaurant. He came over and blatantly told us that they use msg in all of their dishes. This is not cheap street food. I'm so disappointed in the quality of the food and the way this restaurant handles my situation! We will never come back here!

Very cozy place to eat with your family and friends. They offer different asian dishes aside from Vietnamese cuisine. Serving time is fast and they have a lot of seat for you and your group. Even with a crowded place waiting time to be seated was around 10min.

Large selection of cuisines from all around Asia (Vietnamese, Korean, Thai, Japanese, etc). It will definitely take you a few minutes to look through the menu. Thus, food is clearly not made on spot as our food came out VERY quickly. We ordered a variety of dishes and honestly the food was good overall, but the prices are way too high for what you get. Only food that we disliked was the nigiri; not fresh at all, too much rice and the rice wasn't "sushi rice" at all. Presentation of food and restaurant decor is absolutely beautiful. Service was also very good. Even though it was busy, the servers were always ready with our drinks. I would recommend this place for larger groups who are willing to spend money, or for a couple wanting to go on a nice date. For 7 adults, we spent around 3 million VND with a variety of dishes, beers, and some dessert.

Great place for traditional Vietnamese food. Many choice during we tour the restaurant area. Food delicious but environment a bit crowded due to tourist mostly visiting here. Most of the waiter can’t understand English so have to be patient during processing order. Definitely come again once I in HCM city. Overall is prefect!

Waiting time is alright, different from what other people reviewed, maybe that's why the food quality is not so good. Came here with some high expectations due to recommendations from friends, but left rather disappointed. Cannot put a 'wow' to the food.

I came here long before Covid, and this was a nice place to see all the different types of food being prepared. The food was rather good for the price, so it was a nice place to come. Now, it is a complete and total disaster that works as a tourist trap. Come only if you never had good Vietnamese food to appreciate the decor. Of all the food that I ordered (fried rice, fried spring rolls, Bun Rieu, Beef Stew and fried oysters…. ) only the coconuts were good.

This is a must try place if you’re in Saigon for the first time. You get all the traditional foods here. Good portion, good price. Suggest to come before 12noon to avoid crowd. Taste of the food is authentic and I would come back here again for sure. Portion is big so just be sure to order just enough so that you can get a taste of it all. They do serve Chinese cuisines too I.e dim sum and Chinese dishes. Go on and try it!

Too focused on the food to take some good photos but food was decent. Ordered the banh canh myself and thought it was very good. Prices are a bit on the higher side due to the places popularity but I would say the decor and setting makes up for it. Come here if you want a fancier dinner/lunch in Saigon.

Pretty restaurant. No Aircon at the seating area. Super cold aircon in the toilet. Food was delicious! The Bun Cha Gio is to die for! 🤤🤤🤤 The prawns with tamarind sauce is really good too. The rice in the mango sticky rice is soft, fluffy and flavorful.

Right place to indulge you into a treat. Nice food, nice environment, authentic Vietnamese cuisine but you can also have Chinese, Thai and Japanese food. 4 stars only as the menu list is a bit pricey. Recommended.

Great food, terrible service. We had a crab and water spinach soup -- which was passable -- and pork belly with a side soup and rice -- which was delicious. Note: they charge for napkins. The service was, however, terrible. We had to try several times to flag a waiter for every little thing, from taking our order and bringing us cutlery, to ringing up the bill. I understand you may feel that a two person table is not worth your attention, but the least you can do is take our order without being chased around. They finally took our payment after we got up and started walking towards the cash register.

Great place to catch up on Vietnamese Food! It has quite an assortment of South Eastern Asian Cuisines apart from Vietnamese. For the uninitiated foodies, it may be better to view the description and picture and then place order. Taste of everything we ordered was quite good.

Beautiful spacious restaurant with outside deck. Inconsistent food quality and unfriendly staff. The stir-fried garlic greens were tasty, the rice paper on the spring rolls hadn't been soaked in water for long enough and were inedible.

They offers more than just Vietnamese food. But definitely its Vietnamese dishes are the point. Very tasty. Service does get a bit slow except for the food itself. Good ambiance with many foreign visitors. Generally recommended.

A good place for traditional Vietnamese food. Price and food is good but the service is bad. Need to call for menu, need to call for order, at the end 4 dishes with one wrong order and one missing dish. The waiter doesn't seem to care much, would be a 5 stars one with better service.

Very balanced restaurant in terms of pros and cons. The pros are the food, it is delicious and the variety is unreal. The cons... They charge you for NAPKINS so don't even open the package when you get there... They also messed up a credit card charge for my friend and tried to refund him and hide it. The servers are not friendly at all, and they don't make you feel welcome.

Food ⭐⭐⭐ Cost ⭐⭐⭐ Ambient ⭐⭐⭐ Accessibility ⭐⭐⭐ Serve a lot of vegetables, each of the dish average have own sauce. Not a fan of vietnamese cuisine, but their food are quite ok. Plenty of choices and they do serve Chinese cuisine as well. Recommended if you visit ho chi Minh

The place itself is beautiful and it is worth visiting even if you don't have a meal there. Beautiful structure, flowers, fountains... really nice. The food itself is decent, some dishes were very tasty (the Pho) but some other were very underwhelming (Vietnamese rice pancake, the fries). Service is nice and location very convenient for tourists as it's few minutes walk from the Cathedral, the Opera or the Town Hall.

Oh the ambience is impeccable. Very nice decorations all around. You feel like you're in paradise away from the busy downtown area once inside. The food is well presented and excellent. One star of because the service could use more smiles and the restaurant doesn't have AC...

Seems like this restaurant is catered to tourists. The ambiance is nice and staff are pleasant. It’s a very well run restaurant so everything is efficient, arguably to a fault. Food was okay…disappointing as the menu had a lot of options.

The foods are nice. Restaurant decorations are so beautiful. So many people at night but the services are fast.

Very wide options with even vegetarian choice. I really like the decor but it’s a bit hot during lunch because there is aircon. But would recommend to any visitors who want to try different Vietnamese foods. You might want to visit at night when it’s cooler and make sure to have reservation because it tends to be pretty crowded, especially during peak hours.

Went here on a walkin, the restaurant seemed very busy, but they seated us quickly. The restaurant is actually very big and has a very special atmosphere. An interesting part is the open kitchen counters which are located at the sides where you can see them cook the food. We ordered the grilled beef rolls, a crab noodle soup dish and the escargots. I really liked the grilled beef rolls. Drinks are good as well, and the price is very reasonable. Popular by locals and tourists alike.

Foods are fine. The atmosphere is good. The pricing of food is reasonable. However, the speed of serving food to the table is kind of slow. Long interval between dishes. It is hard to imagine that a cup of hot water is also a chargeable item 🤔 But again, the food standard is really good though.

Ngon is clearly a popular restaurant among tourists and locals. The restaurant had ample staff working together and providing great customer service. We had a table of 11 and while I know big tables are difficult to navigate, two of us waited 15-20 minutes EXTRA for our main course. My dish was actually forgotten, which could have been due to the language barrier (I am Australian). Our waitress dealt with us greatly though and provided us with everything we needed. It would have been nice to discount the meals that had to wait longer as it was disappointing sitting there with no food while everyone ate theirs. However, nothing was said. For this reason, I gave the three stars. The atmosphere is busy. The food was tasty, flavourful, and cooked well. The waitress was able to split the payment for us which was really nice.

I have become a regular here. If one is not sure about where to go for food, one should come here, order anything, its will be tasty, I have been here more than 20 times, it was a bit down during the COVID-19 time, like the rest of the world, but bounced back immediately. The only thing missing is the coconut ice cream they use to have, it there now but not half as good, probably the cook left...

upscaled spot with cool colonial interior, i’d say it’s geared towards conservative tourists who isn’t daring enough to eat from a local viet eatery. food is alright, not exactly the best. not a fan of the extensive menu.

This is a very good restaurant in Ho Chi Minh City. The menu is very extensive and includes not only Vietnamese cuisine but Chinese and Thai. The food was excellent and can highly recommend The spring rolls. The decor and atmosphere excellent and was very pleasant to sit outside in the heat and humidity of August. Prices are very reasonable and the service excellent.

Pho Ga was very good, as was the pork egg roll. The Vietnamese pancake was a bit of a disappointment but the iced coffee made up for it. Cool place but a bit pricey and touristy.

The restaurant offers delicious dishes, but the dining experience is often chaotic with frequent mix-ups in orders. Improved organization would enhance the overall enjoyment. Even though the short lady, seemingly their manager, tried her best, every time we dined here we got something wrong with our order.

This restaurant serves authentic Vietnamese food. Every item on the menu is excellent. You cannot go wrong. The list of drinks are amazing and quite fantastic. The service is quick and friendly. Our favorite drink choice is the smoothie with strawberry, passion fruit and mangoes; peach iced tea; avocado smoothie. And our favorite meal items are the egg rolls with vermicelli, noodles, and stirfry noodles with seafood. I would highly recommend this restaurant who desires the best eating experience in all of Vietnam.
