The first coffee shop in Vietnam since 1940s. This tiny coffee shop is still operated by the second and third generation owners. They drip their coffee as what the first owner did. Not much changes here, you can tell. The same space, the same tools, the same taste. No modern decoration, no fancy gears, no any Starbucks like stuffs here. You can find old days Vietnam in this shop. BTW, the owners can speak Cantonese, I don't ask why but guess their ancestors were from southeastern China.

Apparently one of the oldest coffee drinking spots in the city. Nestled between traditional Vietnamese flats which house locals, their pets (and roasters, keep an eye out and hopefully you’ll spot a few). Very cheap, great ambience, intimate. Try as much of the items on the menu as you can, then sit and watch the locals as they come and go... Well worth a visit.

The coffee here is so so good. From the other reviews you can see that they are the oldest coffee joint in saigon. They only sell drinks and you'll see locals sitting around with a cup just hanging out. Try to sit inside cause the outside seats regularly get approached by passing street vendors. The coffee is hand brewed in clay pots over a charcoal fire. Strained the usual SEA style of black coffee. A fresh batch is poured through several times to get the right flavor before its poured into a cup with condensed milk. The flavor is almost nutty with a nice smooth finish. I recommend you start your days in Saigon here! Oh they are apparently closed on the 1st and 15th if each month. FYI

Kind of a tourist attraction and we were afraid it wasn’t worth it. I was wrong. Super friendly staff, was not crowded at all. I typically drink my coffee black but I needed sugar The weak version is more condensed than coffee The other one is more coffee then condensed milk. They asked if we wanted to watch the coffee being brewed and of course we said yes! The coconut was good too! I’m lactose intolerant but I wished I tried the condensed milk version. Looked so good It was cool! Thank you!

It's probably the oldest cafe in Saigon, opened about 80 years back and being run by the same family since. It's small but has a very cosy street-side ambience right inside the city. They have a custom of serving you free gree-tea for welcome (as apparently many restaurants and cafes in Saigon do) The coffee is great, you can get really great dark coffee with or without milk. Step inside this little shop in a small by-lane and the owners will be more than happy to give you a tour of the kitchen and tell you a thing or two about their history and coffee making progress.

Interesting cafe to visit with its 80s music and good strong coffee to attract the local young and tourist crowd. If you come to this area, spend some time walking around the little alleys to explore the neighborhood. It’s authentic Ho Chi Minh compared to the district 1 area. ‘Gram away!

Authentic, popular local cafe. Very friendly atmosphere. Lovely coffee (not just because we got to see it being made).

I checked out Cafe Cheo Leo on an Airbnb food tour. The staff is welcoming and all smiles! I had their seasonal cà phê sữa nóng thêm bơ và quế which has a tiramisu flavor and a warm aroma to it :) This is the oldest Cafe in Saigon and it is still going on strong.

Popped in with a guide during the morning. The only tourists there but clear its popular for visitors. Coffee was fantastic (Bac Xiu Da) was my chosen one and loved it. Full of locals, music and a great experience to start the day.

Special coffee shop that presents how they brew their coffee once they recognise that you are not local. Using previous version or Chinese pot for medicine brewing for coffee. Same colour but different content

☕️ 🍋 🥛 Great coffee. The lime coffee is great for the hot days in HCMC. Oldest cafe in Saigon! The owners showed us how they make the coffee. Great music too and good prices

Very charming little cafe! The Hot Cafe, which is coffee with condensed milk, was really good, not overly strong or sweet. Every customer is served a glass of light and refreshing iced tea. Coffee is brewed using a ceramic pot, which is typically used to brew traditional Chinese medicine. Business owners are sisters who took over the business from their father. The lady spoke Cantonese and we had a lovely chat with her. A really memorable and enjoyable cafe visit.

Lovely little place, don't take it for granted to get a place. Really nice coffee and the ambiente with the tiles and western music makes it a perfect catch out. When you are lucky and new coffee needs to be made, you get invited to the kitchen and be able to see the special process how they prepare the coffee!

Very traditional coffee shop with a trendy modern interior design. Hidden within the residential area, you can find this quaint little coffee shop. Menu is very well designed and clear with English. Bought their butter coffee which is not common in Vietnam.

Apparently this cafe is the oldest one in Saigon with 80+ year history. The coffee has really rich flavour and they play good music there. A great place to spend a weekend morning.

Perfect place to chill and have a taste of cà phê sữa đá, made the old way - with stocking and a pot. You will meet the local crowd here. Vietnamese coffee can be quite heavy so if you're a lightweight coffee drinker, eat before you drink and opt for the bạc xỉu (lots of condensed milk with much less coffee).

Coffee like nowhere else in Saigon. They make the coffee from clay pots and have a separate brewing process for the taste and the aroma!

Such an amazing local coffee shop. From 1938 now owned by 3 sisters that freshly make the coffee.

One of our best experiences in Saigon, hands down. The coffee shop is located away from the main street and all its hustle and bustle. It is not a tourist trap, there are many locals at all times of the day and the prices are very pleasant too! (18k VND for an iced coffee) That being said, the coffee is way stronger than the one we are used to in Europe, so beware of that and maybe don’t visit the café in the afternoon/evening, if you don’t wanna experience a sleepless night like we did, lol. I also thoroughly enjoyed their 80’s soundtrack!

A must visit cafe while in Saigon. Felt welcomed from time we entered. The owners encouraged us to take a look around the space that has been in family since 1938. Even had a demonstration of how their famous condensed milk coffee is made.

It's a really good place to enjoy the oldies and just small and tiny black Vietnamese Black Coffee here. Even though it's hiding in a small alley but it is really a place for relaxing.
