do

professional
training
in
the
area
of
dentistry.
Recently,
my
wife
had
a
major
toothache
that
needed
a
resolution
ASAP.
Although
we
are
long
term
travelers,
we
have
always
returned
to
the
States
for
any
invasive
medical
services.
After
a
diligent
research
and
exploration
of
Ho
Chi
Minh
City,
we
found
Dental
UCare.
I
will
share
with
you
our
experiences
of
Dental
UCare
in
three
areas:
1. Facility
2. Service
3. Price
FACILITY
The
business
is
located
in
District
3,
an
uprising
area
in
comparison
to
District
1.
The
inside
the
layout
is
well
designed,
clean
and
professional
looking
very
similar
to
many
privately
dental
businesses
operates
and
own
by
the
dentists
back
in
the
States.
Without
the
background
and
the
understanding
of
the
level
of
sterilization
is
required
by
the
laws
back
home,
the
equipment
are
perceived
clean
and
seemed
new;
unsure
of
their
up-to-date
version
with
respect
to
the
world
of
dentistry
back
in
the
States.
The
owner
and
the
operator
name
is
“Ung
Cao
Cuong”.
We
saw
a
certification
he
received
from
the
University
of
Minnesota
for
some
dental
procedure.
I
do
not
believe
this
is
a
dental
diploma
and
we
did
not
asked
where
he
received
his
dental
training.
We
did
not
see
nor
received
any
services
from
Dentist
“Ung
Cao
Cuong”.
From
our
understanding,
his
specialty
is
dental
implant.
My
wife
received
the
service
from
Dentist
“Nguyen
Kao
Kuong”.
SERVICE
The
business
lobby
is
run
by
three
young
professionals,
with
one
particular,
dressed
like
a
flight
attendant.
I
believed
she
is
employed
for
her
English
as
there
are
many
foreigners
come
here
for
dental
works.
Nguyen
Kao
Kuong
is
a
confident
and
especially
gentle
dentist.
My
wife
has
a
fear
of
dentist
far
from
normal.
She
rather
gives
birth
than
pay
a
visit
to
the
dentist.
As
a
matter
fact,
Dentist
“Nguyen
Kao
Kuong”
measured
her
blood
pressure
just
before
the
procedure
and
it
was
143.
Her
average
daily
readings
are
95
–
100.
My
wife
has
her
fair
share
of
encounters
of
the
dentists
back
in
the
States.
From
the
experiences
in
the
entirety
of
4
appointments,
my
wife
is
totally
bonded
with
Dentist
“Nguyen
Kao
Kuong”.
As
far
as
Dentist
“Nguyen
Kao
Kuong”
education
and
training
background,
we
do
not
know
where
he
graduated
with
the
dentistry
discipline.
However,
in
our
last
appointment,
we
learned
that
he
will
travel
to
Singapore
few
days
for
additional
dental
certification.
My
wife
received
a
root
canal
and
a
crown
from
Dentist
“Nguyen
Kao
Kuong”.
As
said,
my
wife
has
a
wonderful
experience
with
the
procedure.
In
term
of
the
quality
of
the
dental
work,
we
will
need
more
time
to
test
the
strength
of
the
crown,
thus
the
“4
Stars”
rating.
I
will
do
another
review
in
6
months.
PRICE
The
root
canal
and
crown
procedure
here
at
Dental
UCare
is
11,000,000
VND
or
470.99
USD
(as
of
8/1/2022).
The
price
is
clearly
stated
in
print
prior
to
the
service.
It
would
cost
us
the
same
amount
back
in
the
States
with
insurance.
With
enough
research
and
diligence,
you
will
find
other
reputable
dentists
for
less.
However,
safety,
cleanliness
and
experience
are
at
higher
priorities
than
price
for
us.
For
future
dental
emergencies
and
only
if
we
cannot
get
back
to
the
States
in
time,
we
will
chose
Dental
UCare
in
Ho
Chi
Minh
City.

As
a
reminder
from
your
fellow
long
term
travelers,
please
do
your
own
diligence
research
prior
the
commitment
to
anything
that
related
to
your
safety
far
away
from
home!
