Much more than a hostel! More like a 4* hotel! We spent two nights in a suite room and liked it so much we booked an extra night in a Deluxe Double City View. Both are equally good, the suite perhaps slightly bigger (but then the extra space is occupied by the bathtub). The staff was SUPER NICE and helpful. We are really grateful. And of course the price is convenient compared to most hotels in Saigon.

Hotel Meander Saigon: A Prime Location with Charms and Considerations I recently stayed at Hotel Meander Saigon and had a delightful experience. The hotel's prime location near major attractions made exploring the city convenient. As a bonus, we enjoyed a complimentary city tour as part of their 10-year anniversary celebration, adding a special touch to our stay. The proximity to excellent eateries enhanced our dining options, and I appreciated the thoughtful touch of water filters available on every floor, ensuring easy access to clean water. However, one area for improvement is the excessive smoking at the hotel entrance, which can be unwelcoming. It would be beneficial if the hotel could designate a separate area for smokers to maintain a more pleasant arrival experience for all guests. Overall, Hotel Meander Saigon offers a positive stay with a few considerations for enhancement.

Stayed from 24/12 to 28/12. Staff organized a Christmas party and it was great chatting with staff and stayers and sampling vietnamese food. Love the vibes and energies and friendliness of the staff. Sleeping pod is comfortable and the curtain thick enough to shield light and noise pollution. Shower foam and shampoo smell heavenly and towels and sheets fresh. My first time staying hostels and Meander Saigon is setting a super high bar to it.

For the most part my stay was very pleasant. The hostel is well furnished, and the showers are big, clean, and well equipped - great! The sleeping pod was also quite comfortable, and the locker situation was also good. Where I am torn is the location. It is quite central, which is good. However, the restaurants nearby are neither authentic nor good value. I was quite disappointed by the restaurant recommendations of the staff, among others they included Hagen Dazs (I was looking for good Vietnamese food, not this). I also partly did not like the attitude of the staff and of some guests. The staff entered the dorm at 12.30 a.m. to show a guest his bed. The staff was very loud and did not turn the lights off when he left - I think that's very inconsiderate and rude.

I super loooveeee this hotel. Very comfortable, clean and very very helpful and polite staffs. We reached the hotel at 10am but the staffs were very helpful and kind enough to offer to store our luggage until check-in time. and they also allowed us to store our luggage there after check out until 5pm before we head to the airport. The room was spacious enough for three of us. clean bed and bathroom. the toilet has BIDET which is my most favorite part. They have free flow drinking water at our level and also at pantry at the lobby. The hotel has lift, no need to wory about carrying big luggages. The staffs speak fluent english. One of the staff is aware of Muslim needs to pray and allowed us to pray at the room before check out. They helped us call taxi few times.

Place is super clean, staff was friendly and helpful as soon as I got in. They were always happy to help. Water machines on each floor so no need to buy water bottles all the time which was a good change. Never got sick from the water either. Great common area for people that want to hangout, also a great space to work in a more calm environment upstairs. Location was also great could walk to a lot of places.

Wonderful stay and probably the best hostel I’ve been to yet. Everything feels new and they have designed it in a way where everything just makes sense and is convenient for guests, ie: water machines, free towels, large lockers and cupboards in dorms, private change area before the shower, low background music in the washrooms, and even private toilet stalls that are soundproof and have heated toilet seats! The only improvement area is the loud doors and no social vibe. Otherwise, just perfect!

This was my first time in Ho Chi Minh and Meander made the experience enjoyable. I never stay at hostels, but Meander won me over. I did stay in one of the private rooms. I’m not over exaggerating when I say that the Double room had the most comfortable bed and pillow I’ve ever slept in. I got great rest to get back out exploring the city. The staff was nice and so were the other people visiting. 5/5 for cleanliness, friendliness, and the easiness of the area.

I had only planned on staying 2 nights at Meander, but I enjoyed it so much I ended up staying over a week! On arrival, Tessa at reception greeted me with a smile and went above and beyond to make sure I was comfortable. She even recommended some delicious food options in the area, which was much appreciated after a long flight! The rooms have secure lockers, AC, the beds were comfortable and clean with curtains for extra privacy. Although this isn't a party hostel, it has one of the best community vibes between the staff and guests. I hope to make it back next time I visit HCMC.

First hostel I stayed here in Vietnam and my entire stay was superb. I was most impressed with the restrooms here. It was remarkably clean. I like how the showers had complimentary shampoo, conditioner and body wash. No faults in the room at all. I had an amazing sleep on a pretty comfortable mattress. The staff really had knowledge on activities to do and what to eat. Plus the staffs English is impeccable. Hands down, a phenomenal hostel.

I recently spent three nights at Meander Saigon, and it was a great experience. The hostel's location near key tourist spots made exploring Ho Chi Minh City super convenient. Checking in was a breeze, and finding the hostel was surprisingly easy. Staffs are very polite and helpful. Henry always say goodnight to me and even to other guests. There’s one staff member who help me carry my luggage to my taxi, sorry I didnt get your name. I'd definitely recommend Meander Saigon for a comfortable and hassle-free stay in the city.

They are some of the most welcoming and heartwarming bunch of folks I got to experience in Vietnam. We extended our stay just so we could have a great time and tick off their recommendations on our checklist. Big shout out to Monica & the front desk team. You guys are a delight

Meander was an unexpected find. The building combines several floors of hotel rooms, one floor of co-working space (usually not too busy) and a great area downstairs with a coffeeshop. Staff is super nice and helpful, and the location is perfect - within five minutes by foot of the core of district one (Le Loi, Pasteur St, the Opera) and even closer to Japan town. The basic room is not large, but has everything you need, and there is a water dispenser outside. A cool concept, and great value for money. Will be back.

As much as the interior facilitoes and room decoration of this homestay have showered me with appeal, i was totally disappointed with the service quality and staff attitudes. The staff was not helpful and didn’t pay any respect while the service was really lack in professionalism. Additionally when it comes to the money stuff, they did not make it clear about the price from the beginning so the invoice turned out to be not reasonable at all. They should have clarified honestly rather than making customers feel like being taken in. How can such a horrible accommodation service survive in this hospitality industry? Paying that high amount of money for this underquality service and crooked attitude doesnt make any sense. The experience i’ve got during the last few days really falls off my expectation. This place extremely needs to undergo some sort of reorganization otherwise it will become truly a mess for the customers. Do not recommend this place and surely will never come back again!! Okay and last but not least, be cautions of the seeding comments below😏

I know why Meander gets such a high rating. Not only it is an efficient hostel, it is smart and has a clean, sleek, elegant styling. It has careful and thoughtful choices of decoration, from their room numbers, bunk bed stairs, to the specific design of their hair dryer. It is smart because, at least in my room: private twin bunk bed, the toilet has the automated bidet and warm seat, just like in Japan! A lot of electrical sockets too. A truly plus point is that they are trying to be eco-conscious with refillable water jugs and the up-cycled tissue box. The cafe right in their front facade is great for you to hang out in. Well done Meander!

Meander Saigon is one of the best hostels I’ve stayed at during my time in Vietnam. It’s located near all the major attractions, and amazing restaurants and bars. The rooms are spacious and clean, with plenty of storage. The beds are comfy, AC and wifi work great, and there’s even a cold (!) water dispenser on every floor. I stayed here for a total of almost 2 weeks and got to get to know some of the staff - all of whom are so very kind. So many thanks to June, Gemma, Tessa, Harry, David, and Bill for making me feel so welcomed 💛 A few of us even went out to get dinner on my last night here.

5 stars for cleaning and reception staff. 1 star for rooftop bar staff. First of all we have a pleasant stay in our superior room. The room is clean and comfy designed. Even if there is less space, it’s cozy and the bed is comfortable. Currently there is a building construction on the opposite side of the hostel. It doesn’t bother us since the building of the hostel is well isolated. The reception staff is very helpful and kind. They are all speaking English in a good level. In addition the cleaning staff cleaned our room very good. I have to mention that we wanted to try the drinks in the rooftop bar. At 9.30 pm we arrived the 9th floor and a guy welcomed us. We wanted to take a seat, which is common while being in a bar. But the guy pushed us verbally to the bar because we should order first (which was totally fine). Standing at the bar for having a look at the menu, the guy was standing next to me far too close to me that my boyfriend had to stand between us. I felt very uncomfortable. Then he changed the side with the same ‘distance’ and pushed us to order. If the bartender and the guy (maybe the waiter?) hadn’t pushed us extremely, we would stay since the rooftop bar is nice but the prices for each cocktail (they only serve cocktails for drinks) are about 180.000VND are very high. Maybe the behavior of the waiter is common for Vietnam but to earn more money and having more guests I suggest you to be patient and not be pushy on guests.

The atmosphere of this hostel is really nice. It's modern and their cleanliness amazes me. I really like their interior design, modern & clean concept, and wooden design. Even they have Japanese toilets. Staff are very friendly, especially Bill. Many thanks to him, I was a bit confused about where to go in Ho Chi Minh and he helped me alot by providing information to me. He is so kind & friendly and speaks English very well. Props to him! Last but not least, the location is close to almost everything you need and there's a free water station. Definitely I will be back for more. Looking forward to seeing all of you again!

As a female solo traveller I enjoyed my time at Meander very much! I stayed 5 days here in the female dorm. Everything was clean and comfortable. All the staff spoke English with ease and where always happy to help. Warm thanks to the team Bill, Tessa, Gemma and David. See you next time I visit Ho Chi Minh City! :)

We really enjoyed our stay at Meander. It's modern and upscale design really make it feel like a luxurious hotel almost. Private room was big with a very comfortable bed. Bathroom was very modern and even had a Japanese toilet. Staff spoke really good English and were very helpful. We got our laundry done for 50k per kg which is not cheap but was convenient. Location for us was pretty good, lots of restaurants and bars (especially craft breweries) around. We walked to most of the sightseeing places as well from the hostel. There is also a coworking space on the 2nd level which we didn't use but looked like a great space to work. Coffee bar downstairs where you can get your morning brew and cocktail bar on the rooftop were really nice additions too.

Great hostel/hotel/co-working space. The staff is friendly and helpful. Bill was very communicative answering questions I had prior to check in and helped me get oriented to the layout/key usages when I arrived. Water machines on each floor, Japanese toilets in all the restrooms, good common areas, luggage storage. The wifi was strong in the rooms and common areas and they provide same day laundry service. All areas were cleaned often. Minor suggestion would be to have hand towels/paper towels by the sinks as they didn’t seem to be stocked.

[Location] Close to many tourists attractions. Not too far from the airport, you can pretty much do everything on foot. It’s like 10-15 walk to Opera House, the museums, miney exchange, etc. There are many restaurants and convenience stores around, and a mall on the same street. [Reception] Fast a smooth! Everyone speaks good English and they welcome you with a smile no matter what time you arrive. They help you with tours selections, give you advices of the neighborhood etc. Perfect staffs!! [Room] I stayed for 3 nights at the private studio and loved it! The room is very bright. The double bed was comfortable, with pillows. Bathroom was good - they have that japanese style toilet seats, the with shower pressure and temperature were great! Shampoo / Conditioner / Body soap. The A/C works very well. They have a fridge inside the room and some amenities. [Common areas] On the ground floor there is a nice little kitchen with everything you need to cook. Microwave, stove, oven, plates, cups… There is a water cooler with nice cold and hot water. (They have this in the room floor as well) [Price / Overall] I couldn’t recommend more! If I ever go back to Ho Chi Minh I would definitely stay there again. I enjoyed my stay a lot for a cheap price price. This is way better than many hotels I’ve stayed over the past two months I’ve been travelling!! Just loved it!!!

Receptionists are super nice and very fluent in English. The room was clean and spacious. The bathtub is big and comfy in particular. Love the fact that every floor has a water fountain to refill water whenever is needed. Would have been nicer if they had provided slippers. Overall satisfied with my stay :).

Love this place! Clean, cozy rooms and spacious storage space. I did a free walking tour with Tessa and Gemma which was the highlight of my stay there. They showed us the spots around Ho Chi Minh City and recommended things to do/places to eat. I really recommend doing this walking tour if you are traveling solo. I ended up meeting a really cool guy on the walking tour and had a buddy to go to the war museum with. Thank you Tessa and Gemma for showing me around :)

What a pleasant stay! The lobby, bed, and bathroom are all clean and convenient. However, the staff wasn't really warm, except for one person who helped me check in. He was really nice and communicative. Unfortunately, I don't know his name, but I checked in on November 24th around 8-8:30 pm. A shoutout to him (he wore glasses). The location is perfect! Walking distance to city center so I don't need to book online transportation.

  • 1/5 mehmet tuğberk . 4 months ago on Google
Ok, we’ve arrived at the hotel at 11:00 am and we have been told we have to check-in at 2:00 pm or otherwise we have to pay for an extra early check-in fee which is about %50 of the actual room charge and also which was not mentioned in our booking. This tells me one thing this hotel will try to get the most out of you whenever they can and nothing more. Not recommended for travellers who like convenience but definitely recommended for travellers who love to get ripped off for a good photo or two.

Staff is so friendly and helpful. They even booked a trip for us at midnight for the next morning! The rooms are super clean and spacious. The bathrooms are very clean and never crowded. The location is also perfect! Can get anywhere from here by walking. The staff really make the experience! They’re so welcoming!

We had an awesome stay at Meander Saigon! It started off with a warm reception by Marcus, kudos to him for tips and local recs! Room was clean spacious and comfortable, service and location was great too! We love netflix too! This is definitely a place with great value for money. A small suggestion to change the location of clothes hanger to a place not above the bed so that we can hang our clothes more easily. Water heater works well but sometimes it takes a bit longer to heat up.

I recently stayed at this hostel, and I must say, it was impressively clean. From the moment I entered, the common areas, dorms, and bathrooms were all spotless. The staff seemed dedicated to maintaining cleanliness throughout my stay, which made me feel comfortable and at ease. I highly recommend this hostel to anyone who values a clean and hygienic environment while traveling. It's definitely a top-notch choice for a hassle-free stay!

Really cool hostel almost like a hotel. I really enjoyed it. It was clean and comfortable. The beds and pillows are like orthopedic. The location was also very good and near to many other things. I also came at 1 am and the staff checked me in quickly and they were all so nice.

This has been one of my favorite hostels to stay in. It is modern, clean, and safe. The location is close enough to everything with a quick walk/ride but in a quiet area. There are also water dispenser on every floor. That being said their isn’t much communal space here.

Excellent location, clean and comfortable rooms, and friendly staff. Stayed in a private room that was perfect on my solo trip, exactly as expected from photos. Unfortunately, the nightclub across the street had some loud bass between 10pm and around 330am that disrupted my sleep. So keep that in mind if you have a room facing the main road. Still decided to keep it 5 stars though, as it's hard to fault them for the nightclub.

Had the chance to be one of Meander's earliest guests and my experience with the place was great. The space was neat and clean. Room setup and decors were modern, unique and nice. It's got to be one of the best, if not best boutique hotel in the city in terms of design, atmosphere and service. The staff and the owner were nice and attentive as they took the time to introduce me to the space and all of its functions. I really liked the slide where you can slide down to ground floor from 1st floor. There's also a coworking space as well which was a great add-on to the overall experience. I will definitely stay at Meander again.

If you’re looking for a new ‘staycation’ spot, try Meander Saigon. You’d never expect to see a ‘hostel’ this spacious and beautiful, from the facade to the interior. The rooms are neat, quiet, and well designed. There are also shared areas like the pantry or the co-working space, suitable for your needs. For travelers, you can opt for the dorm rooms if you’re on a budget or beautiful private rooms to treat yourself for a weekend. Did I mention there’s a slide to get downstairs?

Meander Saigon is a nice place for foreign travelers to immerse themselves in Saigon local culture as well as for the young native people to discover different aspects of their familiar city. The hostel's a lovely place with modern and clean design, very cozy atmosphere.

Such a wonderful experience to re-learn the city just from staying at another place. Meander Saigon's location is right at Saigon's Japantown, overlooking the Carmelite Monastery. With the spectacular view, the room was very cozy and welcoming. Not only that, the staff was very hospitable when I arrived late at night. Give it a try, even if you're from Saigon. Take a break from your usual routine and meander at another place ;-)

I booked a suite because of the bathtub, but the view was quite strange, facing a construction so not relaxing as expected. The room was too minimal, not practice. Literally no storage. One thing I dislike the most about this place, due to their eco-friendly rule, they don’t change your bedsheet everyday. The cleaning was surprisingly disappointing. I can’t stand staying at a hotel but my room isn’t cleaned everyday. Anyway, not convenient at all. You can get better deal with the same price. I rated 3 stars because the staff were friendly and very supportive.

The only hostel I’ve ever stayed at in HCMC and the only one I will ever stay it. You simply can’t do better than Meander - from the friendliest staff with 5-star service down to the smell of the rooms, bathrooms, and hallways… seriously, it smells so good in here (especially the lobby bathrooms, I’m obsessed). I interacted the most with Marcus, Bill, and David (they are freaking awesome & SO funny) but the entire staff here is one of a kind. If I could give Meander more than five stars, I absolutely would. Lovely co-working space, easy to socialize and meet friends, free walking tours on Sunday, and centrally located.

Meander has been my favourite go-to for my business trips (5th time now). Everyone is so warm and accomodating. Rooms and public spaces are modern & efficient. No more, no less. And best thing about my stay? The bed! The bed! The bed! No 5* can even compare to this. And yes, it’s well-located and only a few minutes walk away from everything.👌🏼

Honestly, i LOVED Meander Hostel - the service - the location - the cleanliness - the staff (very very VERY helpful) - the working space there - everything about this place is just right! Too many good things to write about this place honestly! If you are visiting Ho Chi Minh City, please ensure you consider this place for your stay very highly!!!

Clean, nice and great staff. I recommend this place to any person traveling in Vietnam and want to discover Ho Chi Minh. Great furniture to work there and nearby of all the restaurants and touristic attractions. Just two little defaults, the doors are not soundproof enough and the shower head is way too high !

The staff are very friendly and helpful. The price is also very reasonable for the location. There are multiple convenience store in walking distance which is very convenient. Stayed in both Standard and Superior room type. All are clean and tidy. There is a mini fridge in the room but it's empty, therefore you may wonder if it's like that by default or it has something prepared; I had to ask the staff to know. You can find a hot cold water dispenser outside at end of the hallway, which is plus. The location is convenient to move around the city. Japanese town is nearby for those who are fan of Japanese cuisine. There is a construction site in the opposite but I rarely hear the noise.

I absolutely loved this hostel! Private room was MUCH nicer than the mid range hotels where I’ve stayed. Quiet, clean, modern, comfortable. The only place I’ve seen in Vietnam that offers conditioner (pump in shower) and water to refill your bottle (so much plastic waste in Vietnam!). I wasn’t there long enough to meet anyone. But it seemed to have a friendly vibe, even for a solo over 50 traveler like myself.

I LOVED this hotel/hostel. I stayed in the 8 bed female dorm. It is so clean and quiet! We did a Sunday city walk which was fun! There is a nice kitchen facility for those who are doing a longer stay as well. GREAT location as well! Very walkable! Highly recommend!

Please do yourself a favor and request a room that doesn’t face the street. There’s a bar across the street that operates from 9PM - 5AM. Out of our 4 nights stay, we only had 1 restful night when the bar is closed. The staffs were nice and accommodating. They provided us with earplugs and moved us a couple floors up(it helped a little). Great location.

Absolutely loved my stay at this hostel! The vibrant atmosphere, friendly staff, and budget-friendly rates made it a top-notch experience. Clean and cozy rooms, plus the communal spaces were perfect for meeting fellow travelers. The location was ideal, with easy access to local attractions. Highly recommend for anyone seeking a memorable and wallet-friendly accommodation! They also provide their guests a free tour every Sunday. Thanks to David and Gemma, despite not being professional tour guides, did an excellent job guiding us through the city of Saigon. We thoroughly enjoyed the tour and gained valuable insights from their efforts.
