Tucked away in District 1, Kohei’s Bar can only be found down a dark alley and up a flight of stairs through an old Saigonese apartment building. And getting to this hidden cocktail bar is only half the fun. If you like craft cocktails and bartending with a flair, Kohei’s Bar is your new one stop shop in Saigon’s District 1! Kohei, the man who runs the show, is all about locally sourced ingredients, incredible flavor combinations and cocktails to tickle anyone’s fancy. Aside from the fantastic cocktail menu which includes some of Kohei’s favourites, like the “I Am F%^&IN Hot!!!” lotus tea infused no-age rum and the “South East Asian Smash,” Kohei is keen to whip up some crafty concoctions based on your own flavour profile! He’s able to guide you in the direction of choosing something you’ll be sure to love and plays up the flavours you crave. A surprise you’re bound to like? Yup, count me in! Although the cocktails are enough to draw anyone in, including me, the bar itself is a destination not to be missed. With an ever-growing bottle collection as the backdrop, a stocked cabinet full of fresh cigars, beautiful chocolate leather sofas and stunning handpicked photography, Kohei’s Bar is the urban-modern flow we all needed in a cocktail bar! I will definitely be back again soon!

I went here with a friend a few days ago and I thought that the ambiance of the place was great. There is a nice little barber shop next door that you can see through while you are having a drink. The cocktails are well thought out. They have twists on the traditional ones but also they have their the unique edge about them. The food and snacks selection is quite impressive. They have a mix of western Japanese and Korean cuisine which is quite tasty and perfect for the setting at the bar.

A nice and chill place. The owner of the bar was nice, too. The alcohol that he made for my friend was tasty ( forget what he combines lol). I think they served the cigars here, cuz some customers were smoking.

Wow. It’s been a while since I’ve had such a pleasure sitting in a bar. Probably the last time was somewhere in Mayfair London. Kohei-san is incredible, him and his team are all professionals and artists in making beautiful cocktails. One of the best bars I’ve ever been to and that’s a lot to say. From the presentation to the actual taste, 10/10. I love the apple pie cocktail. I was craving a dessert and this did the trick, and the team is super friendly and fun to talk to. Come by if you’re in the area because this place deserves more recognition. It’s a little hidden, inside the art halls but once you’re here, feels so luxurious and secretive, I love it.

Be careful of the menu as they add things into the glass and expect you to be OK with it. I mentioned to the bar staff as I watched him make the cocktail I requested, and he looked at me like I'd spat in his face, then made the correct drink as stated on the menu and as a standard way with many Vietnamese started gossiping about me as I sat at the bar! Super ignorant abd arrogant to think that foreigners don't understand Vietnamese! Much better bars around the area...I'd not recommend due to ignorant attitude and changing ingredients of the listed cocktails, take care!

Everything in the bar was lovely, from the drink, the vibe until the owner, Mr. Kohei commented on my body. Context: I am an asian woman coming to the bar by myself, wearing long jeans and a top that showed 2 inches of my waist. The owner: you are so skinny? Me: why are you commenting on my body like that? The owner: because you are showing your waist. Unbelievable :)

Hidden cozy place with vibrant ambience in Dist 1. Friendly Japanese owner has nice smile and staffs know what they are doing for customers. A bit pricey but good venue to hang out with close friends

Excellent bar with excellent staff and mixologist. Had a really nice conversation with the bartender while I was here. Japanese mixologist really has passion and amazing techniques when making and creating these cocktails. Also a bit hidden, need to go through some smaller alleyways but just look for the signage and follow Google maps and shouldn't be a problem. Definitely coming back.

Great experience! Came with some friends for a quick drink. A little hard to find but look for an orange sign near the end of a motorcycle garage. Reasonably priced, tasty drinks, and a very hospitable host. Wish I had more time!
