I thought this might just turned out to be a typical tourist spot based on its location however when we ordered the food The fish & chips were absolutely amazing. In fact one of the best I've ever tried. It was so good I even went back two more times, trying the fisherman's basket and seafood chowder. They were all incredible I would urge anyone who has a chance to go and give them. The only reason I couldn't give them five stars was the unusual smell every time I walked into the restaurant there's a strange musty sour off smell when you first enter. You won't notice this if you sit outside and enter from the side entrance however from the front, the smell is quite obvious and would be unpleasant if you were having your meal there.

A great variety of fish to choose from. Spacious restaurant. We had fish and chips and it was delicious. A friend had the fish chowder and it was a very generous portion. Afterward we sat next door and had a beer and coffee. All in all a lovely afternoon.

Slightly upper class fish and chips, very delicious and fresh, had the scallops and calamari, both were excellent. Had a good amount of chips also. Gets super busy on weekends but we'll worth the visit, seating outside is at a premium. Service was pretty good considering how busy they were, and staff were friendly and helpful. Don't forget to grab some icecream after you've eaten, they have a great range of flavours and the staff at the 'ice creamery' were so friendly and helpful, especially with the kids that were lining up 👍

Wasn't busy so quick to order. Pink ling fish n chips cost $15. Included lemon, vinegar, tomato and BBQ sauce. Quick and easy meal. Fish was moist and firm. Enough to share between two people if not too hungry. We recommend this place. I had the Riesling, it's really simple and I didn't enjoy it so much. Seems to be a wine made for this restaurant under their own private label.

We had grilled salmon, battered fish and chips, Hobart famous scallop pie and seafood chowder. All the fish dishes tasted very fresh and nice. The chowder was very tasty and satisfying. The scallop pie, not sure the actual taste for it but not really to my taste.

This was my second time have chips at Mures and they are the best chips that you will get from a restaurant. They are even better with the seasoning that they sometimes bring out. The ice creams are also very good and considering the size they aren't very expensive

Ordered the platter, some oysters and a seafood chowder (was pretty much fish chowder actually. With little or no other discernible seafood). Sat outside as the atmosphere was nicer. Great views and was kept entertained by the seagulls :P Affordable and enjoyable.

Affordable place for quick, easy, high-quality and fresh fish and chips. I had the pink link which went nicely with a bit of salt, pepper and the house-made tartare sauce. Fished off with the best raspberry sorbet I've ever experienced - extremely flavorsome. The only problem is how popular it is - the carpark can get quite full, making it difficult to find a spot.

Down at the docks you'll find all the vendors on the water selling cooked food or seafood you can take home but the Mures has you covered on all bases. Love the selections oysters, lobster and Prawns. If you're lucky enough to score a table outside enjoying the view you'll also be provided with an effective weapon to eat in peace 😊

Mures Lower Deck had outstanding service. The food also came fast and cooked to perfection. My favourite dish was the spicy mussels and the chicken nuggets and calamari. The fish was also a delight to our mouths. I highly recommend also trying the delicious ice cream. There are many flavours, but the sorbet flavours were my top favourite. So, if you want a fun breakfast, lunch or dinner, this is the place for you.

Ordered: - Seafood Chowder - Grilled Salmon with salad and chips - Battered fish (which was gemfish) - Scallop Curry Pie Food was amazing, really fresh and tasty! The servings were huge too! It does get busy and you do need to find your own table...which may result in you sharing the dine in table with other patrons...

A comfortable dining environment with a variety of fish and chips to choose from. Had the seafood chowder, it was very creamy and good to share. One of the locals highly recommended the cold platter, served with fresh prawns, oysters, smoked salmon, salmon pate etc. Quite a nice meal to sit inside and enjoy the water view.

Went here for my birthday dinner. The staff were generally attentive and I enjoyed the shared seafood platter with my husband. Food took a while to come out but it was worth the wait. Oysters, scallops and prawns were fresh and tasty.

Mures Lower Deck is a very nice restaurant, offering a broad selection of fish and seafood dishes and a good selection of beer and wine for moderate prices. It offers a nice view on the docks. The fish & chips I had were very good and tasty, and the seagulls kept me company while eating outside. The restaurant however seems to be slightly understaffed, as I had to wait quite long for my food.

Delicious, easily the best fish and chips I have ever had, was very busy but worth the wait time. Staff were so kind and helpful when I asked for some extra lemon. Really enjoyed the view and environment. Bathrooms also super clean :) only negative is the annoying couple who sat next to my sister and I who had a go about me moving MY chair like relax? Would love to come back next time I am in Hobart. Yum

We visited on two consecutive evenings - both most worthwhile. Hearty Chowder, Crumbed Prawns enjoyed first time; this photo's meal the second. Fish cakes were great; Fish and Chips were excellent too. Pumpkin and Feta salad was a good accompaniment this time. First night we enjoyed the coleslaw. Great healthy meals.

Sat outside looking at the wonderful water views. There are heaters above the tables to keep you warm.Had the catch of the day “pig fish”. Was a nice an firm meat. Batter was ok, but not outstanding. Also have a couple of crumbed scallops and squid ring. All were ok. Came with 3 different sauces without extra charge. Service was attentive. Was quite busy still the food came to the table at reasonable time. Value was good.

Another best place to eat in Hobart. Situated on the waterfront, they served good food. We ordered chowder and fisherman basket.

Sorry guys but I think I got the raw end of the tail tonight. This is what I got for $30 of Atlantic Salmon. Not only did someone pick that piece, someone cooked it and someone plated it up. No one asked “really - are we sending that out?” Also, whoever is cutting up the spuds for potato salad, can you tell them “small pieces” - not just cut a spud in half. And as for the taste of the salmon, it matched the appearance. Sorry guys but that’s the truth. Added 10 Jan: thank you for the reply. I definitely appreciate the difficulty of finding good staff during COVID and take my hat off to you for staying open in difficult times. Thanks for taking my feedback onboard. Geoff

Popped in for a social work lunch today, was a really nice spot. Service was friendly and prompt, food was nice and the views back over the harbour well worth the time! They have bottled cider which is made for them as well, pretty nice stuff!!! Certainly a recommend from me!

Tried their famous seafood chowder. Very comforting on a freezing cold day, but it's more of a fish chowder than a seafood chowder. I found about 3 pieces of squid in the whole bowl. The fish was also completely broken up, would've been nicer if it was chunky. The fried fish pieces were nice, but nothing spectacular. Oysters were also over priced. Better to cross the road and get a dozen for the same price from the fish man. However, nice place to be able to sit and enjoy a meal.

Very good. Food was tasty & fresh. There was cold seafood, hot seafood & salads in the "restaurant" bit. Over at the ice cream cabinets there was so many different flavours (42???) of ice cream/gelati/sorbet almost everyone would find one they like. Good coffee & smoothies.

Great place to come for top shelf dry freshly shucked pacific oysters. They're not washed in tap water like they do in a lot of places so retain a great saltiness. The bar has decent beer selection from Bruny island, which is a great match.

This seafood cafe/ collection of food outlets on the waterfront in Hobart. After wandering around beautiful Constitution Dock, I found MURES a perfect place to enjoy a seafood lunch. Self serve area suited me and I scored a table with a great view over the dock.

Good value seafood platter for 2 I think, but the fish&chips we had that day was average. The bread served with our seafood chowder fell on the serving tray, I can see our waitress tried to save it but finally gave up, picked it up with her hand and put it on our plate. I totally understand the struggle and don't have huge problem about that. However it could be something cause for concern, especially during Covid time.

Lovely and friendly service. The food didn’t quite hold up for the price you pay, however. Presented beautifully and sounded great on the menu but lacked a bit of flavour. Vegetarian entree and main pictured, but my partner had seafood and agreed about the flavour side of things.
