Great fresh produce. Huge variety of quality home made products, everything you could possibly think of. Took 3 hours to look at most stalls. Good selection of food stalls also. Very busy, masks and sign in compulsory.

How lovely market is it! There are lots of vendors and creators here! They sell some craft by handmade, decorations or special food. It’s worth to have a walk and enjoy the architecture along the street! I love it so much and definitely recommend! Even I visited there in a rainy day but still like its unique!

As former marketeers 🙏 this was a must visit for us on our trip to Tasmania! We weren’t disappointed, weather was perfect, surrounds we’re full of history and character, the was is well run, the stalls were varied and very well displayed, some amazing artists, food was very good and even the buskers were great 😊

This big street market held on Saturday has variety of food, cloths, arts, and music. It was crowded with a lot of patrons and people walk around with fun, smiles, and happiness although wearing masks seems to be required due to still ongoing COVID after mobile app checked-in from different entrance. Nevertheless it was the best place to be worth of spending time with a family and friends enjoying delicious dishes and eye-shopping. Definitely recommended.

The best market ever, and I have been to a few. So much variety of products and excellent quality. Lovely stall holders and so much to see and eat. Definitely recommend the truffle sandwich and the scallops skewers. The sandwich is the best $30 you will spend in your life and the skewer is so good that you will have to stop yourself from having more. Put aside at least three hours for this market.

A great market full of Tasmania local food, handmade products, wine, gin and lavender products. Prices are lower than normal market prices. There are lots of stands in the open air environment. Really enjoy wondering around the market and chat with local people. Open every Saturday. Be prepared with lots of visitors.

It rained but we still had a great time. Long talk with the Knot Lady, hat lady and others. Everyone is in a good mood despite the rain. We drank coffee, ate donuts, tried oysters and bought tea towels. Everything a holiday maker could want.

Very busy, a lot of repeat items. I found myself underwhelmed. But it is obviously popular and does promote Tasmania and its products. I did buy some BlackBerry Rum which was very nice, locally made.

Busy market place with so many artisanal handmade handicrafts. Beautiful scarves, lavender tent, food and many more. Worthwhile going to this place. Well organized on the entry and exit point. Many things to choose from. Ample carpark space.

A must do activity when in Hobart, the market has variety of stalls from food, crafts, plants, vegetables, fruit, drinks and entertainment. Local products are sold mostly. Whole market can be cover in 2-3 hours leisurely. Only available on Saturday morning to 2-3pm Parking available at 12$ for the time. Toilets available near the Salamanca Freshfood market place. Market is crowded, but it’s very calm

A must go place when you are in Hobart. It opens on Sat only from 830am to 3pm. The curry scallop pie is a must try! The grilled scallop stick is also a must try est. The market offers many good quality arts and crafts items for sale. There are lots of local made produce. It gets really busy from 11am onwards.

One of the must sees when you come to Hobart. It’s quite hard to find parking but you can park further away and walk. They have live music, awesome food, cute knick knacks, etc! Very vibrant atmosphere!

Great stalls showcasing local art and crafts. Lots of options for delicious food and drink. Our highlights were the sourdough doughnuts and the freshly pressed apple juice. Don't forget to look in the stores along the side of the market. There was a great exhibit by a local artist working with seaweed. Very interesting.

Walking through was like an open-air market. We only had the hour to spare as the airport was next stop.. the stalls were exceptional loads of locally crafted. Food stalls and areas to sit to eat like the surrounding grassed areas with salamanca bean bags..comfy My favourite vendor here is pictured. The millinery. Spectacular.

If you love markets, this is a must if you visit Hobart. Market runs Saturdays from 8 till 3 (I think, double check). There's heaps of small businesses for anything from food to souvenirs, coffee rosters, destileries, artisans, anything you can think of, all local.

Really nice stalls etc but very boutique prices for a market. Ideal for overseas tourists more than Aussies. Not sure why everything must have "Tasmanian" in front of it but it does.

Huge market that occupiess a whole street, filled with everything from gifts, food, tourist souvenirs and even suspicious fossils. There's a surprising amount of branded gin. Do try Elly's Salted Caramel Popcorn.

For more than a few decades, the Salamanca Market has been a Saturday tradition when visiting Hobart. This place has it all! Our leisurely stroll around this popular tourist attraction with the stunning Mt Wellington backdrop always begins with a Bratwurst. It's hard to beat this traditional sausage in a roll for an enjoyable breakfast or lunch. Once the Bratwurst has been digested, you just have to try a few freshly shucked Bruny Island Oysters! Super yum. There are plenty of tried and true favourite stalls here that have stood the test of time. The Tasmanian woodwork stand, for example, has been a regular feature here since the 1980s and possibly earlier. In recent years we have noticed that every second Tasmanian seems to have discovered their inner talent as a gin or whisky distiller. Sadly, that market is now very much oversaturated (not to mention overpriced)! We were happy to see quite a few 'safety angels' making sure that all visitors to the market were enjoying a COVID-safe environment. It's always different and always fun. We'll be back again soon :-)

Salamanca is a very historic market, dating back to Hobart's early days. It's open every Saturday morning and features a wide range of Tasmanian produce plus the clothing, knick knacks that you'd expect to find in any comprehensive market. 90% of the market is accessible but the cobblestone paving may prove an irritant for some wheelchair users. There is limited accessible parking adjacent to the centreline of the market and a couple of spots with wheelchair accessible toilets.

Probably the largest open air weekend markets in Hobart city that happens every Saturday. Heaps of local produce and craft to see and buy. Many distilleries set up shop here too so appoint a designated driver and the rest can taste the locally brewed vodka, gin, and other spirits. My personal favourites are the fresh Bruny island oysters and roasted chestnuts.

Really nice market. Lots of different things to see and buy even though we visited on a pouring ☔️ day. Would have more stores to see if it was a sunnier day. Would be back again on better weather.

It's almost a case of if you've seen one market you've seen them all. There was nothing overly unique about these markets other than its location and fame. Some good local fresh produce, handmade scent products i.e soaps, candles, skincare etc...little bit of art, hats etc a few food trucks. If you did buy some food there is nowhere to sit down and eat it. I didn't really feel the urge to spend my money there though.

I guess it's nice for a small city. A few eateries in a few lanes. If I go Hobart, I will still visit this place, preferably on Sat n Sun.

I would recommend visiting Salamanca place on days other than saturdays unless you want to see the market in action. Some great restaurants around and some nice gift shops too. The fountain in the square is quite popular with kids so make sure you have a spare set of clothes.

The stall holders are friendly and the produce fresh, local and unique. Two novelists were on hand to sign their new books, which was the pick of the day along with fresh Tasmanian coffee beans, locally grown fruit, beautifully carved timber and a great lunch of Oysters and beer and wine.

Great Saturday market. Varieties of craft, apparels, accessories, food and drinks. From cheese boards to chess boards, tea towels to coasters, shawls to beanies, the list goes on. You find donuts, rice rolls, tarts and coffee. Sit down or just eat and shop. Bring cash and some stores give discount for paying in cash.

My first time here. In comparison to a few Melbourne markets I've been to, Salamanca seems to have more variety in terms of stalls, and more interesting items for males in my opinion. Melbourne markets are great, but the size of Salamanca tops a lot of them.
