Great spot, family friendly, some surprisingly good dishes. I'm a fan of the cauliflower with buffalo sauce - it's probably much less healthy than I think it is, but I'll suppress that thought starting.. NOW. They also have a steak katsu sandwich - very surprised. Wife got it and only let me have a few bites haha. Its basically a very tender steak that's been breaded and put between bread slices with a tangy sauce. Impressed. Got a quesadilla last visit - was good but felt over priced? Not sure why all the sudden I'm price sensitive on this dish - but I am. Drinks are fine, staff is super nice, and the vibes are great. I should really come more often.

Planned to come here because it was walking distance to another activity we wanted to do. Easy parking in a garage right next door that they will validate, and there’s nice seating indoors and out. The foods are more like salads, sandwiches and finger foods - not huge portion sizes so probably better for lunch. A big part of the menu is vegan and sounded fun so we tried the vegan crab cake sandwich and tofu mignon sandwich. Crab cake sliders were good, have the flavors of the seasoning for crab cakes, and the tofu sandwich is amazing!! Nice toasted potato bread with onions, sweet katsu sauce and a perfectly breaded block of tofu. Would come back to eat this again. Desserts also looked good with vegan, GF and dairy free options.

I went to celebrate my birthday yesterday solo and I went to try to get seated and the staff brushed me off , pointing to the Uber eats location like I didn’t even ask for that which was weird. Then I asked for a seat and the server had a slight attitude like he didn’t want to server me. So I continued to try to enjoy myself. Food was good. But I wish the server would’ve given me some more information about my drink but whatever that’s fine I guess. I lowkey feel like he didn’t want to help me with anything. Once my food came he didn’t check on me or anything the one time I asked for ICE for my drink he acted like he was annoyed judging from gestures and body language. But once I asked for the check and I paid with my card. I clicked no tip with the intentions to give him a cash tip but He had the nerve to ask me why I clicked no tip ?! And went back and forth with me I asked him to relax I’ve never been to a establishment that asked me for a tip or why I wasn’t tipping and I also said if you look closer in my hand I had the tip in my hand already. Which was sooo rude. Honestly speaking I decided not to tip and I told him why I wasn’t I never experienced that before. It didn’t leave me with a warm feeling about this restaurant.

Great place to come with friends. Atmosphere is young and lively. I especially enjoyed the soul shack. Private but doesn't feel disconnected with the restaurant like other places. Food is good and supplies a decent amount of vegan options. Down side is Manhattan prices. And the restaurant it self is nowhere near anything else so its go there that's it. No bar crawling or going for a walk down the main Street after a nice dinner. Otherwise still you have all you need there.

I think this is one of the best restaurants in Hoboken. Not only is the staff immensely friendly and inclusive to every walk of life but the food caters to everyone’s food types as well including vegan and gluten free (meat options too!) Please ignore the negative reviews. People who choose to buy or rent above a commercial business should do their research and understand that retail outlets and restaurants will have noise associated with it. It is no reflection on how wonderful your experience will be there.

Everything here is great however I came here specifically to say their brunch Power Bowl is extraordinary. Yes that’s crispy tofu! Order it as soon as you can.

I enjoyed the bar and watching football game there!! Staff were nice and beer selection was good! The food was just good but very average! With a bit better food, this place can be next level!

One of my favorite restaurant/bars in the whole tri-state. Incredible service, great vibes & top notch food. HOLY vegan options! Hanger steak was gone before I could even take a photo. A must try if you’re in the area. Clearly a spot the locals frequent.

update: came back again and so in love with the food! I'm so glad that they are able to provide vegan options ! Everyone was great. Such a great place and great vegan food !! The little shee was cute and compact to make our experience great!

Good customer service. I sat in the booth outside, which was a new try. I was in search of something different that I never had before. Vibes are chill, good food & drinks nice atmosphere. Inside and outside sitting areas. Food was fresh and tasty bathrooms where nice and clean

Ive visited this spot a couple times and it’s never disappointing. The staff is always super friendly and attentive, the drinks are always perfectly made, and most of their menu is gluten free and vegan. It’s a lowkey, chill kind of vibe with dim lighting and music. The cauliflower bites and potato poutine made vegan are my go-to choices. Never leave here without an espresso martini!

5 stars for the food and service. The vegan dishes were absolutely delicious. My wife's steak was perfect. 1 star for the atmosphere. The music was so loud that it was impossible to have a conversation without shouting. I don't know what spray they use to clean the place but the smell was so strong that you can taste it. Especially when someone cleaned the table right next to us while we were eating. If you live nearby I would recommend the take out. Definitely not recommend eating inside.

After an emergency room visit, decided to get some healthier fare for my son to consume. 5 minute drive from jersey city heights located on a quiet street with hardly any traffic. The front door is a heavy wooden door, something out of medieval times. Inside is more modern, complete with 2 booth areas for large parties, bar and a pool table. For Take out- head close to the kitchen area for assistance. The food itself was tasty. Salmon dinner comes with 2 sides. My son opted for the mashed potatoes which was creamy and not runny; and jasmine rice which was very yummy with flavor. The salmon was cooked very well with a tad crispiness to the outside. I got the crab sliders. My meal was a morsel appetizer. Very tasty but definitely not filling or a meal replacement. I would recommend this spot for young adults especially.

Edwin is cordial, hospitable, friendly and upbeat attitude. You should hire more people like edwin. Excellent service. I went for two vegan pies 18”and to the chef applause!

The ambiance and music were great but those speakers are so poor quality that I didn't do any justice to the good music. Also, the food is average nothing that I would love even the curry hot dog it was very messy and lacking flavor, the burger was a small size. The beer was warm and the cocktail 🍹 could be better if they improve on food and drinks 🍺 this spot would be a home run.

Food was pretty good and they served a good portion too. Will definitely go back

I placed an order through uber eats and for some bizarre reason the cauliflower bites i ordered weren't showing up on my order details. I called and expressed my issue with my order with an employee at northern soul. My wife is pregnant and she really wanted this! They were not able to add it to my order, so we gave up on the idea. To our surprise they sent over the cauliflower bites with a very cute message written on the box. THANK YOU!!!

Visited Northern Soul for lunch. Very cool atmosphere with a pool table, TVs, and some tables situated in a half patio/half indoor fashion - which was awesome since we didn’t want to roast in the sun. I had the chicken wings and my partner had the vegan chickn sandwich; both dishes went well with some tequila based cocktails and the red sangria. The service was great and fast. I would definitely return.

There's a lot to really enjoy about this place, great menu and atmosphere. The service could tighten up to truly set it over the top. It's a little too "laid back"/lacks urgency on all fronts, but maybe my timing has been off, never really been there during peak hours. Also not a fan of their fresh cut fries. They're soggy and greasy and not crunchy, opt for un alternative (there are fortunately several) unless that's *really* your jam.

Four words: peanut butter chocolate martini. Head here if you want delicious drinks with bites and good company. The atmosphere is unmatched each and every time we visit. Also a phenomenal spot if you want to celebrate with friends. P.S. their cauliflower bites are so good you’ll actually contemplate if you want a second order.

Excellent service, especially for a big group(we were 8)! Every employee who interacted with us was super helpful and kind. We tried much of the brunch menu, the vegan options, gluten free offerings, and selections with meat/dairy/gluten were wonderful! Fun/rustic industrial atmosphere with classic bar games. We enjoyed our afternoon there!

Their wings are AWESOME! We had the buffalo styled ones and sat outside in early September. We ended up moving inside because the stupid red lantern flies were literally attacking us. Those things hit you like a small pebble when they fly into you (not the restaurants fault obviously, but it was sort of entertaining watching the other guests jump when they were hit as well lol). Their drinks are strong and super flavorful! We had the spicy margs and a few skinny margs, which they actually make for you. Some places say they make skinny margs, but will just use their pre-made mix and sell it to you as a skinny one.

A group of girlfriends and I decided to try this spot out and I was looking forward to it. When I arrived I had to circle the area a bit and finally found a parking spot. The place was cute and they had indoor and outdoor seating. We sat outdoors and it was a closed in area with heaters and filters in each of them and it was a cool idea. Pedro was our waiter and he was good and had a good memory. I ordered the vegan Bodega sandwich which had Just eggs, beyond sausage and violife cheese on a roll and it was pretty good. The girls had different items all around and they liked their meals. For a drink I ordered the vodka tonic which the bartender messed up by putting in seltzer instead. Pedro fixed it himself and it came out good. The bill was reasonable and gratuity was included of 20%. I definitely will be back to try more vegan option meals.

Love this place had my first date here with my now fiancé back in 2021 the ambience, the vegan meatloaf, the sides the drinks are all great. It’s so welcoming and warm. Love this place.

We hosted our daughters 2nd birthday here & it was perfect! The management and staff were so easy to work with leading up to, were flexible for us, and pulled everything off perfectly. The food was delicious & our family kept raving. The drinks were flowing too and everyone had a great time. Pricing was fair & we had an awesome time! Thanks Northern Soul!!

I reserved a space for a party of 20 to celebrate an engagement of two close friends. The food was fantastic and there was something to pleas everyone. Rosa and Marc were flexible and communicative which made the planning experience super ideal. I would not expect a place like this (lively, loud music, etc) to have great food but they really did - it was exactly what we were looking for (lively and delicious)

I was pleased with the service nor the food. I had the wings with fries and a side order of Calamari. And I honestly can't remember what my girl ate but she didn't like it either. For me it just tasted like everything I had wasn't fresh but straight out of the freezer. As for as the service goes, our waiter wasn't very attentive so our waiting time to order took a while. The only actual thing that I really did like about this place is the music..... very entertaining if your a Hip Hop fan.

Food was good but the real stand out was the pulled BBQ Jackfruit sandwich. I really didn't know what to expect and it was delicious! They also have a good drink selection. I also liked the fact that they have quite a bit of outside space.

Great cocktails and beer selection make this neighborhood local pub a stand out. Outdoor seating is a plus.
