Informative, innovative, and functional state park visiting center that is also a museum that educates its guests and visitors about the parks creation, history, plant life, animal culture, and trails. Nicely decorated structure that serves as a guide, a map, starting point of a trail or destination. You will come across patrons from all over the world becoming one with self and nature. Nice big parking spaces. Fun for the entire family. Also, our four-legged friends are welcome. There is a cool gift shop in the center, restrooms, and a cool simulator of what walking some trails look and feel like.

What beautiful place, can't wait to go back again and again and admire the changes that come with the seasons. The folks at the information office were so gracious and helpful, they must really enjoy their jobs, I would. You get to work at a place that is filled with beautiful sights and nice people.

It was 19 degrees and very very icy, but we got pretty far, had a great time and snapped some beautiful pics. Great way to spend a birthday and worth the 5 hr drive. We will be back when it's warmer

The Hocking Hill was absolutely beautiful place. Nature has undoubtedly showen its amazement. There are few routes to walk and the visitors center was very helpful, clean and equipment with bathrooms and vending machines. We loved it. We did 6 miles walk and took many photos. I highly recommend you visit this magnificent place and don't forget your water bottle and your walking stick. You will need them!

Incredible Place with Many paths to walk through the gorges.Good history lesson at the parks main building. Current rainfall made it even better! There are no garbage cans anywhere so be prepared. Very dogfriendly and met several great dogs with nice owners (except one idiot that's trying to create a mean anti-social dog)Many individuals don't deserve nice parks because they leave their garbage all over the picnic area.

Clean and organized! The staff was really friendly! I visited with my stepdaughter for several hours and we did numerous trails absolutely love this place and it’s abundance of natural beauty. Though I do wish they had several more shirts to select from. They had a very small selection, but that happens from time to time I’m sure I love supporting the park by visiting the gift shop and buying little trinkets! Highly would recommend anyone to stop by the gorgeous park! The cabins nearby I hear are absolutely amazing as well. We’ll have to visit sometime in the future.

Very nice! A somewhat easy and mostly gradual downhill hike in a cool and shaded sandstone gulch until the end where you do have an also easy but uphill set of stairs to get out. Take a walking stick for balance and there are numerous and continuous places to fall off cliffs so stay away from the edges and keep youngsters under control. Scenic, educational, enjoyable.

We walked the trail to Old Man's Cave. Relatively easy but with many steps up and down, some steps were taller than you may be used to. Went on a weekend and the parking lot was packed. Lots of people. Hike was very interesting with the rock formations and water flowing. Highly recommend this hike...just steps from the visitors center.

Beautiful trails to hike so many sights to enjoy. And waterfalls depending on the weather and time of year. Cabins are a perfect peaceful place to stay. Reasonably stocked kitchen to cook and serve meals with family and enjoy the fireplace in the evening along with a screened in porch. Or the fire ring outside the cabin. They are well maintained by the park service and worth reserving .

This was our first time at the park. We walked through the visitors center to get a map and enjoy the displays they had. We also learned the legend of the old man in the cave. We all had a very good time walking through the area and taking pics of the sites. Once we completed the path in this area, we drove over to Rock House and hiked that. If you get a chance, go check it out . Amazing sight, and everyone couldn't stop talking about it. We will be back

Pretty icy on some of the trails due to the very low temperatures over the weekend. It was 11° when I left my car. Understandably, I had the trails pretty much to myself. Anyway be careful if it is really cold. P.S. it was really beautiful and worth the effort.

Very pretty. Young people at service counter were not very clear with instructions of the map but we found our way. We enjoyed our hike on the blue trail. Having a balance issue I could have used handrails in a couple places. Some Young people on the trail were not patient with slower hikers. We let them pass as soon as possible. We wanted to experience the beauty and not rush through. Highly recommend a visit but weekdays may be better with less crowds.

Hocking Hills located in a lush forest in Southern Central Ohio has a beautiful and overnight visitor center. It is open, restrooms outside and inside, as well as cool Informational walls set up. It's a great place to start your hiking and photo moments. Visit what you can ... Ohio and the site can be breathtaking... see nature at its best. Some are handicap accessible... small towns are around and even an ER if you need one.

A very touristy area! The best day to visit is on a weekday. If you go during the weekend (especially in the fall), get there early since the parking lot can fill up quickly. I recommend starting with the Upper Falls trailhead so you can see the entire gorge. If you want to extend your hike another 15 minutes, follow the signs for the Lower Falls once you see the bridge at Old Man’s Cave.

July 2022 - great visitor center to learn about the area. They had made up trail to show what it could be like. Information about wildlife and staff was great to talk to. They have bathrooms. Outside to the left from the main door is a drinking fountain. They have a spot for dogs to get water.

Absolutely gorgeous park. The trail and waterfalls through out are just a one time in a life experience. Beautiful pictures and now I have tons of memories. We definitely will be back to check the other trails. Really need to be prepared with good shoes and extensive walk. I'm a big girl and I made it thru so can you.

This is one of the most beautiful parks Ohio has to offer, plan accordingly. Boots, shorts, t-shirt, lots of water, sunscreen because Ohio gets hot in the summer. There's lots of trails and some areas are a bit challenging. I love the outdoors with all the wild life this place is awesome.

This visitor center has two floors and provides alot for you to learn the history of the area. Gift shop is great aswell and the employees were insightful. It has plenty of seating and a nice balcony on the second floor to look. Spacious and a well maintained park.

It is such a beautiful and peaceful place. We have been visited here more than 10 times but we enjoyed it every time. We went to oldmans cave and two waterfalls this time with our 10 and 8 yr old, and it took us about 3 hours to hike. There is plenty of parking but I would recommend you to come early in the morning during summer. If you are in the area, you should definitely visit. Dog friendly. There are many stairs, and walking on rocks so i would recommend you to wear comfortable tennis shoes/boots. Also, there are waterfalls, so a towel would be handy if you go with kids. Restroom, vending machine, and gift shop are at the visitor center.

Just gorgeous at this time of the year! The serene beauty of nature is so picturesquely highlighted by the yellow, orange, and red foliage so bright against vivid green of the conifers and moss. It's not our first time in this beautiful state park: the trails are as nice and beautiful as ever, though water is on the low side - the Devil's bath, the Upper Falls and Cedar falls are not that full of water as they can be.

Hocking hills is beautiful, and the trails are fun to walk and experience if u like walking and the outdoors ....there are some that are wheelchair accessible. The picture doesn't even do the justice of how beautiful it is in person . If u have never been, go , it's a state park it's free to walk the trails.

I've been reading about Hocking Hills State Park since last fall, blog posts about the various caves, cliffs, waterfalls and I just had to see them. On my way back from my niece's wedding I scheduled a day to check out the sights. Next time I'm going for two nights and three days and I still won't see it all. The visitor center is also the entrance to the upper falls and Old Man's Cave. Great starting point.

Perfection! Old Man's Cave, a must see! Sleep Inn Hotel close to there, magnificent! Beautiful all around and clean! Very informative and welcoming! Thank you for the hospitality and the lifetime Memories! There's so much for the family, of all ages, to do. If you haven't already I would definitely plan a 2 day trip when you can!

I really love this beautiful place. Just an hour outside of Columbus and a good day trip with about 2-4 hours of activities. Such a beautiful walk in the woods with lots of interesting sights and beautiful water features.

👍👍 This place was absolutely amazing. The hike isn't too hard so any age can do it. Getting inside the Rock House is also very easy but don't drag your feet. The very end of the trail does go up a slightly steep hill so save some energy for that.
