Spent around £180 on this with no drinks including service. Was not worth it. Ordered the oysters, the porterhouse, chips, creamed spinach and sticky toffee pudding. Oysters were not shucked professionally. Had shell fragments everywhere so as I was eating it, it felt like I was chewing on sand. We had to send it back. Apparently it was the chefs first time shucking oysters. Main highlight of the dinner was supposed to be the porterhouse which we ordered medium rare but as you can see in the picture below, the fillet part was well done and only the part closest to the bone on the sirloin side was medium rare. At £12.5 per 100g, this was probably the worst steak (due to cooking quality) I've had in London. Flavour wise the meat didn't really have much flavour but the fat had the typical cheesy taste you'd get from dry aged beef. Nonetheless, it is a 0 star because of the cooking quality. Sides and desserts were great though chips could've been crispier. We did speak to the manager about this. I would suggest that people stay away until they train a new team. Edit: I tried emailing the email provided but it bounced back.

I googled first dates restaurant and it came up as this you have to look alot further down to find its moved location. It wasn't until we was seated we found this out . We went for a birthday meal and couldn't believe the bill at the end of the night and a service charge of £32 ,this wasn't made aware to us and didn't have glasses or would have been disputed , we thought around £200 was more than enough so you can imagine the shock £103 for a piece of stake 🤔it was just a trop to London we don't live here .please be careful when visiting it's on old Bailey Road, im surprised they haven't been in the only Bailey for ripping off customers 😒

It was a good meal, but I wouldn’t say it justified the price. I ordered my fillet medium rare and it arrived medium, it wasn’t the most flavoursome piece of meat either. The mushrooms and potatoes were nice but nothing special. Definitely not bad, the interior is very nice and the service is friendly, but I think there are better value for money steaks in London

Enjoyable lunch at the Chop House, food portions were good. We had a nice bottle of wine. Our waitress was really good. Only downside was the chocolate pudding was pretty average. Expensive lunch but was enjoyable.

I visited the restaurant together with my husband on our trip to London.. We both love watching the First Dates and therefore, organised it as a surprise for him. And as much as the restaurant moved their location, it didn't really matter. The food was fabulous!! Customer service outstanding! Severn & Wye salmon (starter) one of the best I have ever eaten. If you are looking for somewhere special to go, I cannot recommend this place enough.

Lunch for 5, 4 steaks and a fish & chips. Food was pleasant but not amazing. 400g rump chop with chips at £43 with a gravy. First choice wine wasn't available so had the Rioja which was lovely. Busy for a Wednesday lunch.

Quite literally unsafe to eat. The two steaks below were ordered medium rare. Chips also raw and solid in the middle. We didn't dare try the spinach because of the ecoli risk! Oh... Half the wines in the list are no longer available either, apparently. Honestly I feel sorry for the poor front of house staff.

We called in after purchasing our wedding rings. The young lady who greeted us, was so lovely. We felt welcomed and as if were the only ones there. Her attention to us was polite, friendly and professional. I have some food intolerances, which they managed. Her colleagues were equally attentive, the food was great and loved the champagne cocktails! Highly recommend and will definitely be visiting again. Thank you for a wonderful 5⭐️ service.

Poor service, asked for tap water, given 1 small glass of slightly tepid water. Ordered mixed nuts, there was 1 cashew and half a macadamia nut and the rest were almonds. Got the wine order wrong. My fish was undercooked and quite tasteless, artichokes were very hard . Didn't remove unnecessary cutlery and generally didn't seem to care. Had been told it was for a special treat( belated valentines/anniversary) and no acknowledgement. Won't be returning!!

My friend and I had lunch - the restaurant was quite empty. The food was okay - one portion of the fish looked quite small. The three stars is due to the fact that there were some items which weren’t available from the quite limited menu. Price was a bit on the high side as well.

Our first visit to Paternoster chop house and were very pleased with the experience . It was very quiet probably due to a lack of money just after Christmas .Restaurants we passed in the local area were equally short on clientele. One downside of this was that some menu items such as Oysters and catch of the day were unavailable .However the food we had was very tasty and high quality. The service was good and the server gave a good recomendation for my steak . The overall cost was comparable with other restaurants in London .My wife chose the fixed 3 course menu which was very reasonable . Overall a good choice of venue for our overnight stay in town.

Very delicious food, very attentive service and great location. This is where they film the uk TV program "First Date". Also the location is perfect if you are visiting St Paul's cathedral. We've ordered the set menu 3 course for £30 (£20 with eat out help out). Lamb shank was so moist, almost melt in your mouth. Chips was really nice and crispy, I think it was triple cooked. We've ordered the vegan chocolate and coconut mousse that was recommended by the waitress and it was amazing! I've also had steak and burgers there before and they were also lovely.

Fantastic food, worth the price for special occasions. We really appreciated the special touch to celebrate our anniversary. Just note the venue is not First Dates anymore. They have moved and they keep that bit hidden on their website etc as clearly like us, people book because of its direct association to the show. They are also another restaurant that automatically adds the "discretionary" % (13.5% as well) which irritates me. By definition, it should be down to us customers to add a tip, not have this automatically added.

Food was delicious! Beef was cooked perfectly and the sauces were great. A few of the sides, such as the peas, we felt were not worth their price, but overall it was very good. The staff were helpful and smiley, special shout out to Omar; he was very attentive to our table.

There is no other way to describe the food here other than: disgusting. The steak we asked for medium rare was burnt, salty, chewy and not medium rare. It was almost uncuttable. The cod was chewy and smothered in a butter sauce which tasted like it had been cooked in a pan that hadn’t been washed for weeks. The spinach again, salty, watery - I found it inedible. Baby potatoes as a side were just potatoes cooked in more old butter. We mainly just picked away on the garlic mushrooms and left the rest. Dessert was a cheesecake that looked like it had slid off the plate and put back on by the time It reached us. The venue itself is tired and worn - really needs attention. The staff were overall good and nice to us if a little slow at times after we’d asked for something, we had long waits. Certainly would never attend again and it was extortionate at £100 EACH

New location and slightly different menu. The food is still amazing and the staff could not do enough for us. It was our wedding anniversary and they gave us a complimentary glass of bubbly and brought out a free dessert with Happy anniversary on it. Will definitely be coming back. Thank you

Amazing food! Fillet highly recommended. Just one thing to take into consideration: they take their times to prepare the food. Unfortunately we were in a rush and need time to comeback office. Apart from that, everything is great

Very tasty shared lunch for a group of meat lovers, not cheap but fortunately I wasn't paying! -------------------- Return visit for lunch in Dec'23 unfortunately not so good, one order was forgotten and not that great when it did finally arrive. Wine cost waived which was appreciated, but general experience not up to last time, I think we'll try elsewhere in future.

We were on a leaving dinner for a work friend paid by the company. The food is excellent but it is very central London pricing (£18burger, £30 steak) designed for expense accounts. Not a ton of vegetarian options as this place is about meat meat and meat. The place was almost empty so service was quick and efficient but therefore there wasn't really an atmosphere. The design is quite distinctive and there's even a cocktail bar so assume it could be better on a Friday night.

Amazing food , service and venue. Chop house is not only meet but also fish. From starters to dessert we enjoyed every single bite. You can feel the chef creativity from the plate decoration and understand the chef passion from the food flavour. Fresh and new. Absolutely recommend

I feel conned. This was supposed to be in paternoster square with a view of St. Paul’s. Went for a special occasion. Was disappointed as it is NOT the first dates restaurant! Food was acceptable but way overpriced. Waiter told us they get lots of complaints as they hide the fact they are in a different location from the first dates restaurant on the website. Dreary new location with no atmosphere. I had another booking for next month which I’ve now cancelled. We skipped dessert and left. Don’t waste your time paying so much when you could get a much better venue for far better prices. It’s fraudulent advertising this restaurant as the first dates restaurant. Lies.

Great place, not the restaurant that Friston dates were filmed so dont be fooled but it's the same company that were located in a different location where it was filmed.

Went for an anniversary meal the staff were so helpful and pleasant the food was so delicious and plenty on the plate. When it came to dessert we ordered and were suprised to get a lovely plate with happy anniversary on and two profiteroles on it. Such a lovely little touch they had noticed this on the booking and gone the extra mile. I would thoroughly recommend this place no question. And it's also where the first date tv show is filmed unfortunately didn't see anyone we knew

Had to visit this place after seeing it on televisions "First dates". Had a glass of wine with the wife & sat outside. Blooming cold & blooming pricey but you can wrap up in the blankets provided.

For me, it serves a more corporate audience with higher prices. The food is good and there is an efficient service. You would expect to pay around £40 per person on the lower end. The atmosphere is relaxed although the bar side can be quite noisy. I'm giving 4 stars because I wasn't blown away by the food given the price they are asking. Overall, it won't be a bad choice, especially for a catch up, meeting.

I had a brilliant night out at The Chop House with my mates. I enjoyed it much more than Hack and Hop down the street. The Sea Bass is fantastic.

The service here is beyond compare. A large, rowdy group of us ate here 14/09/2021 and the waiting staff were faultless. A young man and you woman were so attentive, the wine and water glasses were constantly topped-up, always with a friendly smile beneath the COVID masks. The steak was probably the best I've had in years. Sublime. The smoked salmon starter was plentiful and tasty. Sticky toffee to finish. Great. And the Aussie Shiraz we had many bottles of was stunning. Go here. 100%.

I went to Paternoster Chophouse for coffee to host a meeting and the staff created an exceptional experience for me. They are all very well trained and kind people, everyone I spoke to was incredibly hospitable and went above and beyond. They flexed their opening hours to accommodate me as well. It highlights the importance of service and how the overall experience makes you feel. A particular shoutout to Martin who made sure I was happy and had everything I need. It was a great hospitality experience and I will be back. The food looked epic as well!
