My son loves this place. he tells me it's much better than McDonald's. You can get a sandwich or a platter and there's so many choices. delicious really.

Great food, friendly employees. They do a lot for veterans, police and firemen.

There are not enough stars on this page to give this place for their exceptional service. Sean is the guy! He is so friendly and so helpful and has been back to our table probably more times than any other waiter has ever done. He is awesome and this place is awesome. I am a big food critic, not by trade but I usually have something negative to say about every place that I go to lol, but not about this place. The best food I've had in a very long time!

Food - 5/5 Service - 5/5 Atmosphere - 5/5 Value - 5/5 Possibly the best BBQ in town, believe it. I like that they offer 6 different sauces from 6 regions (Maryland, Mississippi, Texas, Missouri, West Virginia, Tennessee) and even apple cider vinegar (for the Carolinian style)… people tend to have strong opinions about what BBQ should taste like and they offer up all legitimate styles I can think of besides Alabama white sauce. Also, food was ready insanely fast. Forgot to snap the food itself! Will definitely be back, it’s amazing for post-hike food.

Amazing BBQ!!! I got the baby back ribs and they just fell straight off the bone. The cornbread was amazing and the sweet tea was great. This place is a must go to BBQ place.

Outstanding food. Extensive BBQ menu, so much to choose from. My pulled pork was delicious and the macaroni & cheese was excellent.

This place is fantastic! The food was not only fantastic, but was unbelievably fast! I'm not kidding, I came in with about 9 people and they had all of our food and drinks not even a minute after we all sat down. If you're ever in the area or just looking for a great BBQ place that has fast service with wonderful workers, come here!

love their cornbread! Shrimp and baby ribs are both good choices and they provide several different bbq sauce. Fries are good too.

I love this place and the food is great. The grwat smell hits you as you walk in the door. The food is fresh and tasty. We tried the pull pork and brisket sandwhiches. The brisket was one of the best i have tried. Staff was super nice too will be visiting again

It's a pretty good brisket little dry, but the sauces made up for it. The 2 of the 6 sauces (had to try them all) I found to like the best had to be the Memphis bell and tupelo honey bbq sauces were my favorites, it also came with corn bread which was good, but the carrot cake to finish it off was fantastic!! I will return again and see if we can't get 5 stars next time

My husband and I booked Mission BBQ for our wedding on October 7th, and we are so happy that we did. Our wedding day was the first time either of us had tried Mission BBQ, and we were blown away with both the food and the service that was provided to us. The staff was so incredibly friendly, and the food was absolutely delicious. We have had so many guests tell us that the chicken was so flavorful and moist, the brisket was tender, and the smoked salmon was the best salmon they have ever had. We definitely recommend Mission BBQ for any catered events, and my husband and I can't wait to use the coupons that were gifted to us.

All the staff here were so friendly and helpful! You can tell they all love their job. I forgot to get her name, but the woman assisting all the tables was amazing. She was quick to bring what we needed or clear the table. She also had a long conversation with my chatty 2 year old 💕 The food is always good at any Mission BBQ, but greatly enjoyed this location for the atmosphere. Will visit again next time we're in the area.

My mom and I stopped in for lunch and were so well taken care of by Brian. He was very attentive, helpful, and friendly, and brought samples by our table. He was also knowledgeable about all the various sauces, which my mom had some questions about. “Above and beyond” customer service. In terms of the delicious food, putting a little spinach or mixed greens in the iceberg lettuce salad would be my only suggestion. Thanks!

It was our first time here, and we were met by Bryan. He was amazing! He asked if we had been there before, and when he found out we hadn’t. He was very hospitable. He gave us a good overview of the establishment a brief history on it. He went over the menu options and went as far as to bring us some samples. Food was good, and the service was great from all aspects. We haven’t had that good of service from a restaurant in quite sometime. Very well pleased with the entire experience. Two thumbs up!!

This place knows how to serve BBQ. If you're ever in Charlottesville, VA, this restaurant must be on your list of eateries to visit, provided you like BBQ. Very patriotic decor (patches on the walls from all branches of military service as well as various local law enforcement and fire departments), but the real star here is the food. I hope your order will be taken by Connor at the cash register who will be sure to point you in the right direction. Enjoy!

We had a wonderful experience during our first time here! The food was awesome. My husband had the brisket, our DIL and I had the pulled pork combos. We had a nice time trying the different sauces to find our favorite. There was the nicest employee talking to us! Next time we are in the area, we know we will definitely be heading back to Mission BBQ!!

We hired Mission BBQ in Charlottesville to do our wedding catering and they did an amazing job. We worked with Yalitza, who was fast to respond, professional, and very flexible with our needs and questions. At the tasting, we already knew we’ll go with Mission BBQ as everything was delicious. And they didn’t disappoint on the wedding day. The highlights were the smoked salmon and the brisket, just delicious. Salmon was cooked just right. Generous portions, too - our guests were having second and third servings at the wedding, and yet we still had a ton of leftovers for our afterparty!

Amazing food, but the staff are the heart and soul of Mission BBQ. The place was packed for luck, it my take out order was very speedy! Everyone and I mean everyone had a smile on their face. The young man that recommended BNQ sauce… it was on point! Large servings, the cornbread, baked beans and slaw were very good! The strawberry shortcake was so delicious! Thank you, and I’ll be nack! Ladies, there are a lot of handsome men in here!

I visited last week and had a great experience. It was my first time and Casandra was my cashier. She was very helpful explaining how the menu works. She really looked happy to be there even though you could tell her coworker was not being very helpful. Im definitely going back!

Visited here in April from the Bay Area and I wish they were here in CA! We had a blast sampling all of the sauces provided at the table and appreciated the story behind them (the founders went to all these different states and integrated their best and unique flavors into the recipes). I wanna give a special shout-out to Daniel, one of the staff who was diligently making constant runs around the front-of-house cleaning and checking in with customers. He was super friendly. We chatted it up when he heard we're visiting from out of town. Even though we had a peach cobbler already, he went to get more peach cobblers to let us sample & enjoy! We really appreciated his generosity and hospitality. Food was obviously really good too but I needed to give extra kudos to Daniel! We'll be back someday.

Mission is a place we visit often. You never get a bad meal.. food is always excellent. Service is always good with friendly and pleasant people. It is always clean and we admire how they honor the people of service with pictures and also the national anthem at 12.00 everyday. All around awesome place to visit.

Really enjoyed our food at the Charlottesville Mission BBQ near Costco. Very tender good pulled chicken! Yummy sauces! Excellent just right dairy free cole slaw!! We were impressed at the clear allergen descriptions on the website. Although several items on the online menu were seasonal and not available, the team went out of there way to help find allergen friendly foods for us. Extremely friendly well trained well staffed restaurant who want to serve with excellence! Appreciate the patriotism and support of our community servants. It was a great dinner! So many gluten free dairy free choices! Alpha gal friendly! We will be back!

I've gone several times to this Mission BBQ location. Some of the BEST smoked brisket I've had. The rotating "Black Plate Specials" are usually very good, but it can be a little inconsistent (if they have smoked Meatloaf, GET IT...very very good). The regular menu options are always good, with very little fluctuation in flavor from day-to-day. The number of different BBQ sauces they have can be a little overwhelming, but once you find your favorites, you won't be disappointed. The service here is also fast. Even during busy times, my food is ready in 3-10 minutes. If by chance I've ever had a complaint or a question, the management has gone ABOVE and BEYOND to make sure I'm a satisfied customer. That's the kind of service and quality food that keeps me coming back!

Pleasantly surprised all the way across the board. Woman who took my order was so sweet and straight forward, helped me pick out everything I might would like for my first trip. I had the half pound chicken, mac and cheese, green beans, coleslaw, and side salad. Came with a free pc of cornbread. Received a coupon for a future free sandwich when the woman working the pickup counter heard I was a first timer. Chicken was seasoned very well and was moist, didn’t even need a sauce, however they have 6 options and let me take home one of each to try. Mac and cheese was gooey, yummy, with little bits of breadcrumbs. Green beans were spicy and meaty and delicious. Cornbread was sweet, which is the preference for me. Side salad is usually side salad, and this one is no different. Tasty and fresh, but nothing impressive. I almost couldn’t believe the coleslaw is exactly how I like it. I had such a nice little experience. Even had a good time eating it reheated.

Definitely enjoyed the turkey sandwich at Mission BBQ. Just got the sandwich this time with a mixture of the Smoky Mountain and Tupelo Honey Heat sauces. Next time, I want to try the brisket and/or some of the sides. This location has outdoor seating and is dog friendly, which is a plus for us.

First Timers at Mission BBQ & it did not disappoint! Let’s start from the moment you walk in… you will be hit with the most delicious smell & welcoming personnel. (So good it has me rhyming). #Josh was the best cashier we’ve ever met. Chef’s kiss to the amazing, perfectly cooked meat. Best advice on sauce (Alabama White, Honey BBQ & Texas Twang- exceeded expectations). Speed, unmeasured! If you have the inkling for BBQ, do not hesitate… GO TO MISSION BBQ!
