Love the idea of this. Not sure if I have ever seen anything like this before ~ a cathedral made of trees🌳🌳🌳. You got to love the variety of the National Trust. Great atmosphere. We came when it was raining and still had a super time. What lovely benches of the carved animals/things; acorn🌰, eagle🦅, rabbit🐰, owl🦉 and hedgehog🐾(see pictures). Children and dogs🐶 loved running around here. We found parking alright🚘. Would recommend a visit.

Lovely relaxing environment to walk around, the radius isn't to big either, I would recommend downloading the map so you can look where each section is

Fantastic place to visit in a walk from Dunstable Downs. Trees were planted in the shape of a cathedral. Benches with animals carved out if wood at each end to sit on. I'm sure we saw an owl flying in front of us. Great place for kids to play hide and seek.

This is place is magical. It's like stepping away from everything around you. I didn't intend to stop here but I saw the sign saying Tree Cathedral and turned round as became intrigued. I am glad I did. It's tucked away with a small carpark. The gravel road to get to it is bumpy. 😂 But worth it. You step out and got through the gates and it's like a maze but it's just so.peaceful and quiet and such beautiful flowers. Must be super hard to maintain bit they have done a fantastic job. I didn't want to leave.

We visited this Tree Cathedral and the one in Milton Keynes on the same autumn afternoon. Both are charming and beautiful but for direct comparison: Pros of Milton Keynes: Ample car parking, well paved path throughout, obvious laid out structure. Cons of Milton Keynes: Parking is charged, but at £1 for an hour (ample time) this is worth it in my opinion (even more so with multiple people per car) and goes to the upkeep of the cathedral, close to a busy road so cars can be clearly heard throughout Pros of Whipsnade: Free car park, quiet and tranquil, greater variety of planted areas, charming carved benches Cons of Whipsnade: Bumpy road to access, car park v small, soft grass underfoot (not wheelchair friendly), not as obvious a traditional modern cathedral structure

Tranquil, pleasant place. Excellent tree exhibits. Great 3-mile walk around the area afterwards.

The visit to the Whipsnade Tree Cathedral was amazing and whilst it is highly recommended, the car park on the day we visited had a car vandalised, with the window on the passenger side smashed to smithereens; this cut short our visit as it did not feel safe to park and stop. Park your car with caution.

Probably better to come back in the spring or summer, but still a nice natural space to wander around.

It is not a forest, but it is not a park also. Nice place, you feel inside the nature. Perfect for sunday walk 😊

It's a lovely place to visit and usually quite peaceful. However, the accessibility is awful from the road which is like one big pothole, to the carpark which is currently very muddy in places, to the field leading up to the Tree Cathedral (a bit boggy so wear wellies), and even inside the actual Tree Cathedral itself. All entrances are incredibly muddy and difficult to navigate. Beautiful once inside however.

Beautiful and secluded area of Whipsnade with lots of birdsong. Great for a gentle walk. Not brilliant for bikes due to kissing gates. Only a few parking spaces, but it is only a 3km walk/ride from Dunstable Downs visitor centre.

Lovely shaded quiet space. Very well maintained. Some benches placed around the grounds.

Car was broken into here and our belongings stolen. Do not park here if you value your car or anything in it. Pretty but not worth the stop if this happens to you!

I liked the place, it was quiet and the rain gave the perfect sensation for the place. I suggest to take a picture of the Cathedral map at the entrance to see all the areas during the walk.

Off the track gem - Whipsnade Tree Cathedral - Yes its a cathedral but made from trees !!!! It is both charming and beautiful. Great for dog walking, but not great for wheelchairs as frequently muddy. Either park at the large car park at Whipsnade Down and walk (head South West then South East from the car park) or use the car park (very small) next to the Tree Cathedral.

Well kept tree lined green space, dog friendly with a poo bin in the small car park, no toilet or amenities, lovely place to sit quietly, have a flask of coffee and listen to birdsong, please take your rubbish home to protect this beautiful environment

Within easy walking distance of Dunstable Downs, the Tree Cathedral is a great place to start a walk. Car park wasn’t busy however the access road is a bit rough.

Went in March so more of a stick and twig cathedral. Would be overly in summer. Nice and peaceful place. Very limited parking though.

Always a nice place to visit on a local dog walk. Just deducted one star for the size of the car park which is to small for the demand at popular times.
