One of our two favourite hotels in Sri Lanka! We chose this hotel again for our second trip to Sri Lanka for a longer acclimatisation after a long flight from Germany and for the last night before departure. After our first trip to Sri Lanka (02/2020) this time we stayed a little longer (12/2022) to enjoy all the wonderful amenities of this place and the friendliness of absolute everybody there. You can find everything at Villa Hundira for a relaxing stay also over some days. There are a villa and some smaller buildings with lots of hidden seats and places to rest all around (and have a meal or a drink there, if you like), two pools, a roof terrace with a view, a small water arm winding through the area leading to the lagoon (no beach) and lots of flowers beautifully arranged all over. Food and service are simply perfect and you can have one of the best massages I know right in a mini SPA in the garden. The owners live on the area also (and you can stay in their original villa, too) which explains, what the owner Indira told us: this is a home in first place and only accidentally a hotel. They have a social project also on the area where handcrafted items are made and sold. Since I knew about the beauty of the place and the special feeling there, I chose this place to propose marriage to the lady of my heart (and she accepted!). 💕

This place on the edge of the Negambo Lagoon! A awsome peaceful location! The villa it self is beautifully build and charmingly decorated and run by Mr. & Mrs. Rolf & Indira Tibbllin. 2 swimming pools large rooms with every amminity you need for a wonderful get-away is avalable! It is also super place to relax! Early morning bird watching was really joyful! Last but the least is the most amazing super 7 star food and service! A place not to be missed in Sri Lanka! A real rear Gem!

This little gem in Negombo is one of the best boutique hotels we’ve been to. The rooms are luxury class the food customized and we never got a no from the efficient staff. They would always work around it. Clean spacious 2 pools close proximity to beach. Super super

We stayed at Villa Hundira after arriving to Sri Lanka with our four young children (following a pretty horrendous flight). At once we felt at home. The hotel is beautiful, the family suite we stayed in was large, spacious and cool. The food was magnificent, particularly the traditional Sri Lankan curries and breakfasts. Best of all were the delightful, friendly and unbelievably helpful staff members. One lady called Buddini stayed in touch with us during our travels, providing us with useful local contacts and advice. It was really much appreciated. I would recommend Villa Hundira to anyone looking for a peaceful, beautiful and safe feeling base when arriving into Sri Lanka Ps. We were torn between staying in Negombo or the Lagoon. If you want to visit Negombo beaches, Tuk Tuks get you there within 10-15 minutes for just a couple of quid.

Great place to relax. Had a lovelytime with family and friends. Super friendly staff and great food options. They have a indoor and outdoor pool. Clean rooms with good space including larger family rooms. Its the perfect home away from home giving easy access to airport. Definitely recommend to stay here with your family and friends.

Breakfast was a solid rice and curry. The arranged driver that picked us up was very friendly and reliable. Great experience.

The place was just out of heaven. Great architecture and interior was perfectly done. Friendly staff and it’s advisable to try some Sri Lankan cuisine too. Also there are 2 cute Persian cats who adds more fun. Kayaking in the lagoon and boat rides are must try. Can’t wait to go back there again.

A very convenient boutique hotel close to the airport with very comfortable rooms, two swimming pools and access to the neighbouring Lagoon. We're looking forward to returning on our way home before our flight. They also host a local community project providing arts and crafts employment for local people making very high quality products and we couldn't resist buying a few items to take home even though it was our first day.

My goodness, beautiful, fantastic staff, great food, and the most wonderful pool plus a lagoon. Go now! High end, comfortable, the best architecture in all of Sri Lanka, really must see to believe. Your host Mr. Rolf and his daughter treat you like family.

It's a nice and cosy place with two pools, and a view to the lagoon. Water varans move around the territory and drink from the pool, so interesting to watch them! Hotel staff is extremely friendly and it feels that they really enjoy working at the hotel, feel like a family. Thank you to Janaka.

Villa hundira is one of the nicest villas I have visited in Sri Lanka. We visited during February 2023. From the staff to the rooms to the food the service was top notch. I have to mention a few words about the interior design which was simple and elegant and very commendable. I wish the entire team all the best and hope to return soon

Beautiful place, ideal to spend the first night after late arrival in Colombo. Tranquil and nice decorated, the service is immaculate. You have views to the lagoon and a pool.

We had a lovely stay in this beautiful hotel in a lovely setting on the edge of the lagoon. The gardens are very well designed and very natural with 2 lovely swimming pools in a private setting. The staff were all very friendly and attentive and the hotel manager, Janaka, was particularly kind and helpful. We were made to feel very welcome and special. We stayed 2 nights and wish we could have stayed longer.

Our family enjoyed a perfect day-out at this stunning villa. For just Rs. 6k per person and an additional Rs. 10k for a day room, we experienced luxury like never before. The private pool [Think we got lucky since the day was less crowded. :)] was a true highlight, offering an exclusive oasis of relaxation. The rooms offer ample space, impeccable cleanliness, and are equipped with essential amenities including functioning AC, television, and hot water supply. The villa itself is architecturally rich and surrounded by well-maintained landscapes, although the lagoon view could be better. The whole villa was spotless, and safety measures were consistently maintained. The staff's service exceeded all expectations, making us feel like VIPs with personalized and attentive care. Also, punctuality and dedication to our comfort were impressive. Photographers will love the picturesque backgrounds throughout the property. The culinary journey was a treat, with a rich Sri Lankan menu featuring chicken, pork, crab, and more. The desserts were equally amazing. Thoughtful souvenirs for our kids added a special touch. In short, this villa is an oasis of luxury, hospitality, and serenity. Highly recommended for an unforgettable retreat. We can't wait to return!

Villa Hundira is a paradise hidden in the backwaters of the Negombo lagoon. The attention to detail of the property is at a notch above the rest. Starting from the friendly hospitality stretching on to the delectable food, everything in this paradise is heavenly. The property has many beautifully decorated hideouts that would entice you to spend most of your time at instead of being confined to your room (there's the upside of gazing at the planes taking off from the Colombo airport too). The overall design and theme of Villa Hundira is so attractive and makes you reluctant to leave. The staff are very friendly and well trained that you would be naturally lured to the tip box when you check out. An exceptional experience worth returning back to.

Super friendly service and fabulous people welcome you and your family to a cosy home away home feeling in every sense. In every step you take there is an interesting story unveiling and beauty of simplicity to admire in plenty. Its like a quest for a treasure hunting in the lagoon with full of joy and a start of a new journey sailing in to the waters of tranquility. No one who visited once would hesitate to come back again and no matter how many times you came you feel refreshing and more things to do and experience. Food is on another level and don't miss the inhouse special dishes.

I quarantined at this beautiful villa for a day and had an extremely peaceful time. The staff made sure that I was picked up on time from the airport and had a stress free stay! Really loved the food and how friendly everyone was to me! A great, safe and hassle free Villa which I highly recommend to anybody who wishes to book this place.
