Update: This is hilarious they put national anthem and disable people should wait until they finish the ceremony. Morning hrs we have to wait for payments. Parking is super mess here. All free slots are cover with cone for doc. Covid antigen test is a pain here. No proper facilities for customers. Waited more than one and half hours for get an antigen done. Poor management. All the parking are booked for doctors and not parking available for customers. Really dissatisfied

Good place to fulfill any of your medical requirements. From OPD to Specialist channeling. Laboratory services to Scanning. Reservation through e channeling or over the phone are possible. PCR and RAT available as well. Parking is somewhat difficult since no large parking area is available. Overall satisfactory service but Laboratory service should be enhanced, specially there customer service.

Hey everyone. I took my mother for her appointment. Appointment is at 8.30pm but now it's 9.22pm still doctor hasn't arrived. What hell is happening. And i went to your cafeteria its closed. How can someone buy a a bottle of water is someone need. No point of opening a big hospital without any responsibility and hospitality.

Friendly staff. Consultations of many doctors could be done here. They have a pharmacy. Also, have an ATM machine on the premises. There is parking available around the hospital building. In addition, they also have several dedicated car parks close to the hospital.

I took my mother, age 84, for her ECG to Hemas Thalawathugoda today (between 1-1:30pm on 16th July 2020). I am extremely disappointed about the very poor service of the staff and have no words to express how badly they treated us. *I had to wait for about 15 minutes to pay for the ECG as one was on a call and the other was very lethargic. No other patients were there so none of them were busy just being very ignorant and unpleasant. *There was a mop basket blocking the entrance to the ECG room and instead of moving it away they made us walk to a different room and carried the ECG machine to a different room. It was devastating as my mother is too feeble and no one seemed to care. *The nurses were not able to fix the ECG machine to the patient properly as they did not have the required knowledge to do so and my mother being a heart patient had to wait with great difficulty for them to figure things out. *They wasted a large amount of time idling without getting my mother's ECG and in the end when I got my mother a wheelchair there was no one to even push it. Their inability to serve a patient properly was indeed very sad and above all they were very rude and unprofessional towards us. PLEASE TAKE THIS IN TO CONSIDERATION IF YOU ALL WISH TO IMPROVE YOUR SERVICE. WE ARE VERY REGULAR PEOPLE BUT AFTER THE HORRIFYING EXPERIENCE TODAY WE WILL NOT VISIT OR RECOMMEND THIS HOSPITAL TO ANYONE IN THE FUTURE.

SAY NO TO HEMAS HOSPITAL. I am circulating this incident to make the public aware of the malpractices carried out at Hemas Hospital. My father, a 74 year old, is suffering from severe underlying health conditions and as a family we have made many personal sacrifices to ensure that my father is kept safe and has been self isolating since September as he has been recognised as very high risk. He was admitted to Hemas hospital on 28th November as per his doctor's advice to get treatment for his chronic liver disease. A routine PCR was carried out at the admission and he was given a course of IV antibiotics to which he was responding well and was on course to be discharged on the 30th morning. To our utmost surprise his PCR test results came back positive (around 12.00 noon on the 29th) which we found to be unbelievable as my father was self isolating for months and he didn't have any covid symptoms. We were told by Hemas hospital that the authorities will be notified and my father will be transferred to a quarantine hospital in Homagama. Due to the isolating measures at home, we couldn't comprehend how he had tested positive and we have heard that some of these tests showed false positives and so we requested a repeat PCR test from Hemas and the permission to stay in the same room for a few more hours while awaiting the results. Malith Athapaththu who claimed to be the chief medical officer refused to comply as they wanted my father out of the hospital immediately. We were ready to comply as the hospital insisted that they were following government guidelines. Once again, we requested that another PCR test be carried out while we were waiting to be discharged however Malith Athapaththu was very adamant and refused this request as well. Finally by the time my father was discharged from Hemas at 4.00pm, there was a time lapse of 16 hours between the positive test result and the discharge which was ample time to have received the second PCR result had Hemas bothered to perform a test as requested. As my father was too frail to fend for himself my brother had to accompany him to the quarantine hospital where they were given a ward cubicle and a toilet to share with 5 others who exhibited severe covid symptoms. My father took 2 PCR tests during the stay at the Homagama hospital and they both came back negative thus enabling them to return home on the 2nd of December. Both my father and brother are currently self isolating at home (with a very real possibility of developing symptoms due to the heavy exposure to Covid 19 at the Homagama hospital). We as a family are living in a state of shock and and dread each passing hour, hoping that no symptoms develop indicating that they have ultimately contracted the virus from their stay at the Homagama hospital. I cannot express to you the trauma we have been forced to undergo unnecessarily. In our hour of need, Hemas hospital did not choose to act professionally, respectfully and humanely. While we fully appreciate technology and machines can fail (as shown by the false test result), what should not have let us down was the ability of the medical professionals at Hemas to act with empathy , sympathy and common decency. Please think twice before putting yourselves in the same position as usual No one should be subjected to the trauma that my family is currently suffering Dear Malith Athapaththu, How hard is it to carry out another PCR test for which we were offering to pay any amount of money? How would you feel if this happened to one of your parents? A worried daughter.

I tried to figure out any good side of this hospital.. Ah yes! It is not that far from my home. Yes, it is the only plus point of it. The service given by the hospital was surprisingly too bad. Nobody take the responsibility plus no attention to the patients, but at the end money comes first. Very experienced supporting staff inclusive of nurses, sisters and lab persons. I am just wondering why I should pay money to have this kind of treat from a private hospital. Gov hospital, on the other hand, has responsibility and caring than this. Unless you have any urgency, I dont recommend this hospital to anybody...

Great covid #safety system Touch-less hand washing system and body temperature (I guess) labeling system at the entrance Floor is marked to keep your distance Car park is....(・–・;)ゞ not sure about bikes though but the bikes I saw parked outside the entrance P&S cafeteria in second floor Pay bill / reload machine available Phone charging spot available Water filter available in ground floor Token number and doctor call, doctor availability live on TV screens in ground floor and lobby Wheelchair accessible entrance and exit Wheelchair accessible elevator available (or for 6 standing people) Good lighting system Good seating system (to avoid close contact) Exit route is marked to easily notice Medication collection counters x2 Cashier x1 Prescription collection counters x2 Process of getting medicine from pharmacy: . First to the prescription counter, there your info will be entered, searched for medicine availability, then give you a bill . Secondly, go to the cashier and complete the payment. Meanwhile the attendants will gather your medications. . Next go the the medication collection counter. There you receive your medicines. Note that all 5 counters are at the same place Friendly staff service and easily accessible sanatizers hanged to walls

Have been visiting this hospital for years and happy to see them expanding the services with ample and free parking. Docs' delay is nothing new though, it is satisfactory to see how the management has tried to give a solution through web interface providing up to the minute info on the appointment. It is my wish to see them growing into a mega scale health care provider.

I don't want to give any rating bcoz reception girls are overthinking. They act like specialists. I came to the old part of the uyanwaththa asiri hospital and stood more than 5 minutes to pay my channelling fee. There were 2 reception girls in the counter. One was on a phone call and the other was watching a teledrama on the TV. They were looking my face time to time and anyone didn't ask what's the matter.

OPD services and other channeling services are much appreciated. But pharmacy is the worst pharmacy I ever seen. Anyone in the pharmacy didn't care about the client. No friendly staff. Also other staff gathered in to the pharmacy counter and make chit chat with them. (Management can check the cctv on 3rd March 2019 @ 7.30 Am to 8.00 Am). If you are looking fir a decent service don't recommend Asiri hospital pharmacy services.

Crowded, ppl were hardly social distancing once inside. Not sure who's responbility it is, because with all the guidance and marking, ppl just crowded outside channeling rooms. There were plenty of staff who could have asked or reminded ppl to take precautions. I think the channeling section and time should be managed better to avoid crowding and enable social distancing, so we can consult the doctors, following health protocols. This picture is nothing compared to the crowd at the peak of channeling time. Also, doctor was supposed to start at 8am, came at 9.10am, no one was informed about this delay. While delays by doctors are inevitable, communication with patients is key, especially that means that they are hanging around unnecessarily.

It is easy to book a doctor over the phone. It is also very easy to pay online and track the doctor's arrival time. But it is a noisy and crowded place that does not fit into a private hospital.

Yes agreed the hospital has a good facility. However, we can see many patients are waiting longer for doctors. Unfortunately our residence in near to this hospital. So we do frequent visits as there are few elders and child’s living with us. Even now. We got 1st appointment at 8.00 am. Now nearly 9.00 am. Still waiting for doctor to come. It’s really disappointed as all patients are waiting long for doctors particularly this pandemic period. I think the government authorities must pay their serious attention for this matter.

Very poor management. After calling many times, hospital has confirmed that they do echo and exercise ECG and to make an appointment to a cardiologist and come. Patient walked in with a reference letter from a doctor to do the exercise ECG and Echo and then the doctor has yelled of the patient doesn’t know this hospital is not providing those services. Hemas Thalawatugoda is not acting on any complaint, putting patient’s lives in danger.

Hemas hospital care and related medical services are excellent. However, sadly the Administration / Reception PR etc. seems lacking. When Hemas hospital, Thalawathugoda is contacted to get information, the caller has to be on hold and listen to advertisements. No one seems to be interested in picking up the line to assist !

Evening is really expensive. I was there with my mother for several days in a room. Bell is not working or not responding most of the time. We had to inform them every time for medicine, cleaning etc. Prices are really high in the hospital (around 150,000/-per day). Not happy with the doctor and the service too.

This review is about their staff response for calls. During covid 19 a lot of people get their information by calling. I called almost all the hospitals to get the information I needed, but I had to wait on line for about half an hour (not exaggerating) until someone answered the phone. They answered my query in 2 minutes. This kind of service is unacceptable. Get your training done properly and have proper management to run your hospital efficiently. Don't let it become a joke.

Dear Sir/Madam, 1)Thank you very much for the offer, but I will not come for the free US Scan you offered to replace the scanning mistake; because I have no confidence in your hospital/scanning doctor. 2)My family member also, recently had an experience with a BP measurement mistake being repeated and was prescribed medication with this mistaken report. 3)You requested me to send my surgery report and despite my second reminder, you have not acknowledged it and even requested me to bring other previous reports. My best wishes, for your management to take care of people as precious human lives and accordingly care for them medically. Thank you very much.

Bad service. Doctors don't pay attention to a single patient at a time. We consulted a doctor but several patients come inside and said several things at a single time. One came asking the doctor to answer his call etc. The doctor wasn't able to concentrate on our checkup properly. How could they come to proper recommendations without proper observations?

I do not recommend Hemas Hospital for you to attend to any of your medical reasons unless otherwise absolutely necessary. The reason is I have heard many negative and disastrous feedback from many people and even on the Internet it is quite distinctive to see such negative comments on Hemas Hospital. One of my family members were taken into the theatre to under go a small surgery. But the patient was taken in and the doctor who's performing the surgery didn't even come out and speak a few words with the family members before starting the surgery (Which every doctor must do in any situation before a surgery is carried out in my opinion). So we were not given any information on how many hours the surgery might take which MUST BE notified for the family members. Otherwise they will be sitting near the theatre complex for hours and hours.

I am very happy to have Dr.Sudath Senarathne as my VOG. This doctor is truly exceptional. His surgery ( Laparoscopic myomectomy) gave my life a new beginning. Thank you very much doctor. I was admitted to Hemas Hospital for the above surgery on March 2020. The personal attention and kindness shown by the staff of this hospital helped my husband and me overcome fears about the surgery. Also I would like to thank all the doctors and nurses and others who took great care of me. Special thank for the Head sister of the ward (she is a wonderful lady- Orchid ward.) Thank you - Hemas Hospital - Thalawathugoda.

I had to visit this terrible place for an emergency. ETU service was horrible, we had to wait for more than 30 minutes for a doctor to attend the patient while the patient was having a severe allergy attavk. doctors and nurses are moving like sloths. Doctor had to request the oxygen 3 times to get it ready. Nurses and doctors needed to be constantly reminded of the task at hand. They were walking really slow always forgetting what was supposed to do next. A doctor at the ETU was asking about our financial status and insurance, being a doctor it was so unproof him to ask that. It is with us to decided wether we can afford it or not it is none of the doctors business. At least a hospital staff person would have questioned it rather than a doctor. This doctor simply asked us to stay if we can pay or leave while the patient was being treated at ETU. Hospital took ages to transfer the person to ICU and we had to wait for 3 hours for that. During this time the doctor asked about insurance a hundred times. While the patient was still in hospital we had to answer their customer service call to give them feedback on their service. They never really got convinced by the fact that they can wait till we get discharged to call and get feedback.

Well.. i had the worst ever private hospital experience today at Hemas hospital, Thalawathugoda. The channelling desk messed with my daughter's doctor appointment today. We went 15 to 20 mins before the appointment time. But to our surprise, doctor has already left by the time we went there. Channelling desk told us to come back for the next doctor session. We didnt get any call from the hospital channelling desk informing that the doctor was leaving. If that was the case, we would have changed our plans and come before doc left. If we couldn't make it before doctor leave, we would have changed our mind and avoided visiting the hospital. Now I have to come again. Hemas hospital doesn't understand how much risk we take by coming to a hospital during a pandemic like this. This is not the first time we channelled doctors at private hospitals. But its the first time I did a channelling at Hemas hospital. Other hospitals do inform by calling if there's any changes in doctors schedule. But Hemas Hospital doesn't do it. It's important to understand why they act very irresponsibly like this... Because 1. They may not be having a good customer service policy 2. Front line staff may not be experienced enough or not trained properly 3. Front line staff may not be having a good service attitude As a customer, I got heavily dissatisfied and angry due to this whole scenario. Now I have to come again wasting my time and money. I'll come again because I have to show my daughter to this doctor. Also I requested to consider to refund hospital charge of this channelling because of the loss I have to incur by visiting the hospital again. Don't know whether they'll consider... but I'll fight for it cos I want them to understand how customers feel.

I made an appointment to a consultant and the consultation session was cancelled by the doctor after that when we requested only they informed that the refund can be given to us but we have to come to the hospital to collect it but I did it through online. Then I came here today to collect it but now they are asking me to come on tomorrow morning. When I explain that I can't come tomorrow they are saying that they can't do anything and I have to come tomorrow. They think that we don't have work and we are staying home. I am not recommending this hospital. This was my first time I did the appointment and I am not going come for this hospital.

Pls don't select Hemas Hospital (Thalawathugoda) for PCR Tests. I gave sample on 12th Aug, even after 72hrs, I still did not get my report. I take about fifteen (15) calls after completing 48hrs as they advice. No body from the hospital still has not apologize for the delay and also do not give any proper details regarding when I can receive my report. the customer service is also not professional and polite. They only concern about money and play with innocent peoples lives during this pandemic situation.

We reached the hospital at 12:00 noon since the appointment was at 12:03 pm. The doctor S. A. Gunawardana was late one hour as regular. The first appointment was on 2012/03/05 and he was late one hour on that day as well. The appointment time is usually delayed more than one hour. Seems doctors do not care about the patients and running after money. Then doctor advised to do a wound dressing and it got delayed another hour. Patient was taken in 2:15pm after moving here and there to clear spaces. Further, I could see the pharmacy queue was not managed since only two prescriptions ware taken at a time. People were waiting at least a hour to just hand over there prescriptions. Do not recommend this place. They have to stop marketing but improve the quality of the service.

The only thing you need to work on is the reception and payment counters. Payment counters make errors when entering billing information. Luckily my blood sample was drawn by an amazing lab technician who checked the bill against the doctors prescription. Why hot digitize the process where the doctor has to select the tests on an online platform from a drop box and then the ladies at the bill counter only has to bill for what the doctor has selected.

Disgusting toilets. Matara Asiri compared to Colombo locations look like they are maintained for second class citizens. That goes for the entire facility. Back end not even plastered. Old manual beds in rooms. Cattle herding style OPD. Very disappointed. Need to go to Colombo for anything serious. Can't take this establishment seriously since the owners don't take it seriously. Shame.

Though the doctors and much of the staff members are good, some of the nurses and minor staff has very disappointing attitude toward patients. Especially when they sometime take the upper hand on medical decisions and doesn't allow patients proper care. The best example was: just after getting a scan done we left the room to bring the reports to take the opinion from the same doctor whether to admit or not. The person at the door strictly rejected us from reaching the doctor WITHOUT EVEN ASKING THE DOCTOR that we were waiting. And hilarious thing was that person directed us to another doctor which we dint want to consult. Who are these staff members who can take decisions like this? All the good u do is gonna crash if one person like this is overacting..

Authorized hospital scam in Sri Lanka !!!!!!!!. Beware of these beggars. Tried to scam me on my wife's illness claiming it as appendicitis without proper proofs and should be operated immediately, and when we asked for the cost for the operation they gave us a totally unfair higher price. There after we moved her to a semi government hospital and illness was just an urine infection. They tried to scam me on my insurance. There were some doubts on and falseness in the reports as well. Please beware before you mess with your health with these (un)professional money minded beggar consultants and beggar surgeons at Hemas.

A hospital with facilities. Unfortunately doctors are always late and patients are kept waiting for more than an hour for scheduled appointments, wasting time. Prefer other hospitals for doctors appointments given the lack of consideration for patients time and investment.

Had a colonoscopy appointment and waited for about 6 hours. The justifications they offered were that the equipment was having technical difficulties and that the doctor had not arrived on time. Accepting an appointment before checking on the facilities is incredibly irresponsible. Their service was disappointing, and the staff was even worse.

Very good. It wasn't need any personal assistance from the cashier counter to the doctor. Because all the necessary notices and guidance are displayed through electronically. If you can provide a leaflet or email notice of the all facilities including Doctors and their charges, it will be more advantageous for not only patients visiting the hospital but also to the general public. - Tissa Wickramaratna.

We stayed there for my husband's surgery (10-02-2024 to 11-02-2024), and the hospital was exceptional. The staff's service was outstanding. I have been to many private hospitals in Colombo, and I have to say that I actually realized how fast and helpful the staff was towards the patients in an exceptional way. Even as an example, if they were unable to provide more painkillers, they were well-trained and professional in how they conveyed it to the patient and the guardian in a understandable way without hurting our feelings. This part I have never seen in other places, which I really think is what all patients expect while receiving service from a hospital. Thank you very much.

I happened to visit this hospital this morning for a couple of tests to be done. Having made the payment for same at the counter I proceeded to the lab where I was met by a nurse named Ms. Lakmali who took the time to go through the prescription as well as the bill comparing item to item and found that the counter officer had made a mistake in over changing me a sum of Rs. 790/- by billing me the same test separately. She took the time to walk up to the counter officer and have him reverse the entry and issue a new invoice with a refund of the sum of Rs. 790/- given to me in cash. Now that is what I call customer service beyond ones duty. Therefore I feel that she should be rewarded and appreciated for her excellent service whereby bringing satisfaction to the customer. Thank you once again.RJ

Within two hours, a doctor had seen him, a us scan was done, the consultant visited and a provisional diagnosis was made. During his stay at the hospital, he was attended to with very well. The nursing and hospital staff were very kind, friendly, supportive and always willing to help. The food was very good as well and well presented. Although my father had a terminal illness and since passed away, I want to place my gratitude to the hospital staff on record, as it made his stay in hospital and his last days comfortable. Thank you very much Hemas Thalawatugoda. Your kindness is very much appreciated.

It was an exemplary service that we received from the Hospital - the staff was very friendly and the doctor was quite on time as well. We were welcomed by a very friendly staff member at the entrance who checked our temperature, and within the walls of the Hospital we felt cared for and safe. Overall the staff and the service rendered a magnificent service, and we will definitely be back!

Extra-ordinary customer service.. Improved much than past experience. Best doctors available for each and every speciality. All prescribed drugs available in the pharmacy. that was much appreciated and plus point, otherwise have to go and try from outside. Another thing waiting time is very much lesser than previous occasion at the pharmacy area. Please consider about channel room screens. need proper information about doctor. What is ongoing numbers etc. This is the best hospital in the city now

Nice and easy to reach and get our consultation done at night hours. Overwhelming crowd in evening hours. The skin clinic building is nicer in atmosphere , having a washroom there would be a good idea too.

They have started a home visit blood sample collection service and that is superb. Need to get an appointment via call. They will give a time and the team is punctual. Came to my home on time. Highly recommended for elders who have mobility difficulties. Also they did not charge me for travelling or any other extra fees. I paid the lab report fee only. Excellent service. However I will not recommend the inhouse patient services of the hospital. They have lot of hidden charges.

I had a 3 day stay here recently, I must say that the resident nurses and doctors and even the cleaning/food services personnel are very professional. I stayed on level 01 - the sisters and nurses are trained and very attentive, kind. Food is also OK. As usual, billing department can be a little faster but as my 1st experience at a Hemas hospital, I am quite happy about the way they took care of me.

This hospital isn’t all that great. The hospital itself is physically big, but the parking facilities they offer are so very small. I’ve seen many supermarkets around here, who offer bigger parking. I’ve had many experiences here which are far from satisfactory. I shall post a picture which would serve as yet another indication of their lack of attention to detail… They could not even bother to restart this glitching computer !

Eveeything seems OK. I gave 3 stars because of there was a huge queue for all payments and registrations in the morning but only 2 counters were available. Time 7:11am.

Waited for about 1 hour to get the medicine from the pharmacy. Lady who were there told me that she has loads of work & be seated for a while and went to back. Took about 30 min to come. Totally inefficient pharmacy staff.

Hemas Thalawathugoda is an exceptional healthcare facility! From the moment I walked in, I was impressed by the excellent service and comfortable environment. The staff was incredibly friendly, making me feel at ease throughout my visit. The doctors were not only skilled but also very approachable and took the time to listen to my concerns. One aspect that stood out to me was the combination of reasonable prices with top-notch service quality. It's rare to find such a balance, and it made my experience even more satisfying. I would highly recommend Hemas Thalawathugoda to anyone in need of reliable and friendly healthcare services. This place truly delivers on its promises and leaves a lasting positive impression.

Reception is quick and cautious. Reports were ready on time. Doctor’s arrival was delayed a bit but not bad compared to some other experiences. Nursing staff is okay but could improve a lot to reach international standards. Overall it was a satisfactory service.

Worst experience in my life, staff is overall is good, good attitude, but don’t believe anything on their website, package is all is a scam, end of the bill nowhere around it, and they even won’t say before they add all the extra investigation and monitoring. No gift pack or any HNB bank account as mentioned on their website for packages benefit, it’s a never ending scam. Never going back to that place for admission.
