My friends and I booked two rooms separately for 3 nights at the end of April. I liked how private and secure the property felt. It is very clean from garbage and most dust. I like that there are coffee maker, microwave, and tea kettle, and refrigerator. The provided toiletries were of unknown origin and very watered down and drying. I had to buy my own because I was uncomfortable with it. However the Moana room has many unsealed spots including the random door to the common room where MANY geckos, millipedes, and others crawled in. It is also 2.5 feet away from the lawn and flower beds where we saw a baby centipede. The other pests are mostly harmless but I was deathly afraid of a centipede. I was told by staff that they do not use any chemicals to treat for pests and to not touch the centipede and that this is normal in a jungle environment. I would have not booked if I knew this. I felt like this was a poor excuse since I'd just stayed in the literal jungle in Volcano area. Friend's room was fine except a giant palm sized spider one night. I had to beg them to change my room for the rest of my nights. There I'd only see geckos and millipedes in the bathroom only though some windows were missing glass panels and impossible to close. There is no breakfast, and there is no room service. You may contact the staff during your stay through two phone numbers. My stay would have been relaxing if it weren't for the pests. I stayed awake the first night nodding on and off to see a new pest on the floor or the wall.

From the photos posted online, we were sure that the Luana Inn would be beautiful. However, the photos don’t do this lovely place justice. We stayed with Erin & Ken for 9 nights in June 2014 when we visited the Big Island to get married at Hawai’i Volcanoes National Park. They truly treated us as family in their home. The view from our room was spectacular – we loved to watch the sun set nightly from the pool or hot tub. The grounds are beautifully landscaped, and Erin even picked us a white pineapple on our last day. Our hosts made sure that we had anything we needed – snorkel gear, towels, a sack breakfast on a day we had to leave before breakfast was served. They anticipated every need that we might have. John had a surgery prior to the trip and we were concerned about his comfort in sleeping, as sometimes he has to sleep in a sitting position. Erin & Ken made sure John had a recliner available in the room upon our arrival. The breakfasts that they created for us were the absolute best meals we had the entire time we were on the island. Erin & Ken knew every great place to visit – the touristy places as well as the more private attractions. We love children and found their boys to be very entertaining, and we enjoyed visiting their dog, Charlie. The Inn was very private and secluded, which was exactly what we wanted. We are so thankful we chose the Luana Inn instead of a giant resort with millions of other guests, and we can’t wait to go back.

Our vacation was wondering. Great place to stay. Clean, great views. Beutiful pool and hot tub, nice. Diane was so great and accommodating. Snorkeling was great and real close. Away from the tourist row. Quite and relaxing. My next vacation I would love to come back. 😌

The Luana Inn is wonderful. The property is gorgeous, well-kept, and in a great location. The ocean view is outstanding! Our room was poolside and had everything we needed including a fridge and coffee pot. The bed is very comfortable. This property is very quiet and peaceful. Sometimes the only noise comes from the palm branches blowing in the breeze. I highly recommend the Luana Inn and hope we can stay again someday.

It's a beautiful home on the hill, very private, spacious, and clean. You wake up to the songs of a million birds. It's all green, and you can see the ocean far away. The host was exceptional in adjusting to our arrival time and was easy to communicate with. It's a super eco-friendly place, with a chlorine-free pool, recycling, and a big garden filled with cool lizards and magnificent flowers. It's not on the beach (as expected), so you need a car to get to the beach and local restaurants. The hosts give you a great list of places to check out for breakfast, coffee and dinner. The room was spotless and large, with a big comfortable bed. There is also a cute community area with books and coaches. Very cozy and feels like home. I highly recommend this spot for a romantic getaway, meditative private time, or family vacation—a fabulous experience.

If you want to be 20 minutes from Kona and super close to best snorkeling on island - this is a great spot. We had 1 bedroom with living room which was perfect for my wife and I and daughter. There are bugs and lizards ar night so keep your door closed😁. Responsive host. Great pool and view.

Clean, beautiful garden and seaview. Close to exotic harbors and Capitan Cook; but 30 minutes by car from Kona's downtown. Personnel were very kind. Free parking. Breakfast order in advance. WiFi.

We loved our 6 day stay here! The room was clean and had many nice touches like a clothes drying rack, wonderful crossbreeze, lovely view, and a serviceable kitchenette. The patio was fantastic with a lovely clean pool, hot tub we used every night, clean and comfy patio furniture, incredible views of sunset, and perfect for stargazing at night! Our host was very helpful and friendly with great knowledge of local things to do and see. We would return here in a heartbeat!

I did not stay here, just toured the place. Lovely ocean views! Pool and hot tub looked inviting. The site on a hill with nice breezes blowing through.

This is a fantastic location where we stayed 4 nights. The property itself is well maintained and the staff is super friendly. The view is fantastic, there is a pool with a view, and all the things you can do nearby are among the best on the island. Snorkling Captain Hook and visiting the national park nearby for BBQ in the sunset js a must. Highly recommended.

This is a great spot and we really enjoyed our stay. Our rooms were fantastic and the pool, hot tub, and barbeque make the stay extra enjoyable. The view from the pool deck was amazing to wake up to after arriving in the dark the night before.

Amazing. Relaxing. Peaceful space to breathe in Hawaii. The kindness of the owner and her employees shows. Feels like a family. We will be back. ♥️
