Watching
the
hotel
staff
ensure
the
functioning
of
the
Intercontinental
San
Pedro
Sula’s
rooms,
spa,
gym
and
three
restaurants/bar,
is
exhausting.
A
lot
of
work
goes
into
maintaining
the
various
functions
of
this
aging
and
comparatively
large
property.
With
that
said,
the
friendliness
and
professionalism
of
the
hotel
staff
were
the
highlight
of
my
two-week
stay
here.
Unfortunately,
the
same
staff
accolades
cannot
be
given
to
the
management/ownership
of
this
property.
Aloof
and
not
customer
service
oriented,
the
management
at
this
hotel
(and
owner)
clearly
fall
short.
For
one,
the
decision
to
allow
construction
in
and
around
the
restaurant
area
during
dinner
time
was
a
poor
one.
If
the
hotel
had
a
theme
song,
it
would
surely
be
the
sound
of
seemingly
endless
construction
(this
hotel
does,
indeed,
feel
like
it
is
constantly
being
renovated).
Each
of
my
dinners
(and
lunches)
were
impacted
by
the
noisy
construction
taking
place
at
the
most
inopportune
times
possible.
Additionally,
I
would
encourage
management
to
reconsider
its
strategy
with
the
Executive/Club
floor.
I
stayed
on
the
Executive
Floor,
which,
theoretically
afforded
certain
benefits;
many
of
which
were
inconsistently
available
-
namely
availability
of
the
Club
Lounge
for
breakfast
and
afternoon/evening
snacks.
The
lounge
was
often
not
available
for
either
-
perhaps
because
of
a
lack
of
guests
(?).
In
any
case,
this
is
an
easy
way
to
reduce
the
value
of
these
room
upgrades
and
I
would
strongly
encourage
anyone
who
chooses
to
stay
here
from
opting
for
Executive
level
rooms.
Rooms
were
standard
and
kept
clean.
The
Intercontinental
San
Pedro
Sula
is
probably
one
of
the
best
options
in
town,
but
it
could
-
and
indeed
should
-
be
so
much
better.
