This is the last beach on the north-east side of the island of Oahu. The highway ends shortly after and turns into a walking trail. The highway used to continue, making a loop around the island, but after a typhoon destroyed parts of the tip, it was closed down to car traffic. As a result, there is very little traffic here and you'll mostly see locals here and very few tourists. The waves can be a bit strong so if you want to do snorkeling, you'll need to be a strong swimmer. Head a ways out so you don't get smashed into the rocks by the waves or get rocks hurled at you underwater. You can see some fish, but like most beaches on this island, you won't see any corals. Being on the west side gives this beach an excellent view of the sunset. The mountains also block a lot of city light, so it's an ideal place for star gazing. If you swim, there is a life guard on-duty until about 5~6 PM. Restroom and outdoor showering facilities are available. Be aware that shower water is not potable, so avoid getting water in your mouth or eyes. Also keep in mind this is a high-theft area. Keep your valuable secured or leave them behind. Overall a great beach to get away from the tourists.

A great beach in a part of the island that many outsiders (or even locals) don't visit. It's situated at the very end of Farrington highway, just before the hiking path to Ka'ena point. Please be aware that this is a sunbather's/surfing/bodyboarding beach. The waves and swell here can get very high and dangerous. There can also be high winds. It's beautifully maintained and there's a lifeguard on duty. Please make sure you lock your car doors and take valuables with you as there is a higher risk of theft in this area. Be sure to take your trash with you, keep the beaches clean!

It is the last sandy beach at the north end of west side of the island. Big, beautiful, wide, long beach. Golden powdery sand, blue water, sandy bottom with a strong shore break. The water gets deep fast. On the south end of the beach there’s an area sheltered by a rock jetty that is great for snorkelling. We were also lucky to encounter a sleeping honu there. Other than a bathroom facility there’s nothing else there so bring whatever you need. There’s also a sign that says ‘high theft area’. Beware but enjoy!

Beautiful beach at the end of the Farrington Highways. The beach slopes steeply into the sea. There are quite considerable waves. But you can still easily get into the sea. Showers and toilet available.

Spent the day at Keawaula Beach! Great location at the end of the road on the north west side of Oahu. Not a whole lot of people so we had most of the beach to our selves. Fun fact: the Space Force does exist and they gave a base there. Must be awful to be stationed on a beach in Hawaii. We were feeling so bad for the Space Force people.

The contrast between the mountains and the sea is the best. The same can be said for the western seas in general, but as long as you take care of your valuables, it's not a dangerous place. It's about an hour's drive from Waikiki. You'll feel like you're on a remote island instead of Oahu.

Beautiful beach at the very end of the road on the western side of the island. Great place to hang for the day, or cool off after walking to the point. Both bathrooms and lifeguards were available in a week day.

The beach was a long drive on the west side on highway 93 which is the only highway on Oahu that is a one way so if your with a family prepare yourself for a long drive through a lot of neighborhoods. After traveling entire island, the west side is definitely the biggest area for the homeless population on the beaches. Once you get there though, this is a nice quiet spot with some interesting rock architecture, and the beaches are great to explore so definitely worth checking it out. I was hoping to see some of the animals that were posted in some of the reviews of this beach but we didn’t get so lucky but it’s a place that will definitely have to go back to to try to get to see some animals.

There is a toilet. You can enjoy unexplored nature itself, where there are almost no people.

There is no better Beach on Oahu in my opinion. It is totally worth the 1 hour drive from Waikiki. There is a lifeguard on duty and the scenery ist all that what you would extrem Hawaii. And the best thing about it: there is hardy no one.

Great place to relax and watch tge waves break, with not many people. Some days too wild for swimming, though. There’s a great surf spot right at the lifeguard’s station. I’m not a surfer, but there were around twenty people in tge water, and it looked like they loved it.

The signs say you need to take care of your valuables, best to leave most stuff at home. I've never had an issue, but it's good advice. Right at the of the paved road, there is 50 yard long channel in the lava bed. When the tide is in, you may see experienced locals jump in, but unless you're an expert swimmer, don't try this. The basalt lava flows contain some razor sharp edges so avoid them, and keep your children off. Finally, at the far end is a simple sign letting you know your insurance coverage for a rental car doesn't apply after that point. Only experienced locals with 4-wheel drive go beyond there.

Keawaula Beach in Hawaii is a stunning 5/5 star destination. Its beauty is unparalleled, with incredibly fine sands and breathtaking sunset views. As a park, it closes around 5 to 6 PM, so plan accordingly. Keep in mind that flying drones is not allowed due to its proximity to a military area. Despite these restrictions, Keawaula Beach offers an unforgettable experience with its natural splendor and peaceful atmosphere.

Great beach. Bathroom near by and I was able to change clothes. Sand is soft, when I went the waves were pretty strong though. Sunset is BEAUTIFUL here. Also met some really friendly people.

This side of the island is often only viewed from around Honolulu. Visiting this area was SO much fun. I had my own time to walk up and down the beach and enjoy the amazing views. It only really hits you how wonderful this place is when you get back to your hotel and realize that the beauty of Oahu is plentiful. Must visit!

A secluded beach that makes you feel like you're in nature. The sand is clean, deep and soft like a cushion 🛏️

👍👍 Seriously some of the best snorkeling 🤿 on the island. If you have a friend with a military ID make them take you here. Literally every time I have gone I have seen at least one 🐢 while in the water. The beach can be crowded because it's kind of small but the water isn't because there is so much...

👍👍 Easily one of the prettiest beaches on the island. It is so peaceful here and clean! Fair warning, at the end of the trail when you get to the beach, go left if you plan on keeping some clothes on. Going right will lead you to nude sunbathers.
