We had a wonderful stay here! My husband and I got a 1 bedroom suite and it has everything we need. My favorite is the Hawaii style K-cup. They also have brewed coffee and cold brew in common area as well. We received a great discount with our tours and had fun meeting other people staying at the hostel. Zane was super friendly and helpful, and always giving us recommendations and answering our questions. The location is in center of everything and close to Waikiki. 100% recommended for your stay!

Absolutely loved my stay here and can't recommend this property enough. Unlike any hostel I've stayed in before, each room (including 4 and 6 persons) have their own kitchen with fridge, stove, coffee maker, etc. It was a fantastic perk to have everything in the rooms, and was very clean. This is an ideal hostel for people looking for a still social but quiet hostel, was fabulous as a 30 year old solo traveller who wanted to have fun, but still their own space. The excursions are also great, really good value for money. Above all else though, the staff is actually incredible. Zane and his crew are 10/10 humans who have mastered the key to hospitality and make you feel so welcomed. Book this place! You won't regret it.

Stayed in a mixed 4 bed dorm for a few nights. This location is brand new- the rooms are clean, the dorms have a full kitchenette, and the beds are comfy! Zane the manager is extremely responsive and accommodating. He knows all the guests by name and takes the time to make sure you’re comfortable. The prices are competitive with all the other hostels in Waikiki, so I’d definitely recommend this place :)

We loved our stay at Honu. A very clean hostel and well equipped. The manager was so incredibly kind and accomodating and would bring us anything we ran out of and even went to the extent of giving us lifts to meet the hostel tour groups! The tours were also so so much fun and were a great way for us to make connections with others! Would definitely stay here again!

Honu Waikiki Hostel Zane the proprietor was extremely helpful, kind and gracious. Zane makes it easy for travelers on a budget to have a clean, safe and homey place to stay. I’ve stayed in hostels since I was in my 20’s. Let’s say that was a long time ago. This is the 1st hostel that I’ve stayed in that was a private apartment. It has newly renovated bathroom, floors and small kitchen area. Simple but very clean. It has a full fridge, coffee pot , microwave and burner for some simple cooking. There are fans with lights in every room and AC units in the bedrooms. If you have a car be sure to reserve parking ahead of time, they only have 10 spots at a time. There is an extra fee but it’s worth it especially with the security cameras. I love the keyless entry, it made it so easy and secure. Its located about 2 blocks from the main Wakiki beach,a 10 minute walk will put you in the heart of wakiki beach strip. The area felt very safe. It was a little hard to find because it’s tucked in the middle of several buildings. You enter the parking area entrance between the 7-11 on the corner and the Pho restaurant. It looks more like an alley than an entrance. For being in a city, it was fairly quiet. You really don’t hear any traffic. I love that there was a washer and dryer on property. There‘s a great sushi restaurant a 3 min walk away. You can tell that Zane takes pride in his establishments and enjoys helping people on a budget enjoy traveling. If it isn’t obvious already, I would highly recommend any establishment Zane and his partners run! Mahalo.

I recently had the pleasure of staying at this charming hostel during my trip to Hawaii, and it exceeded all my expectations. From the moment I walked in, I felt welcomed by the warm and friendly staff who were more than willing to assist with any inquiries or recommendations for local adventures. The location of this hostel is unbeatable - nestled in the heart of Honolulu, surrounded by lush greenery and just a stone's throw away from stunning beaches. The ambiance was relaxed and inviting, making it easy to unwind after a day of exploration. The rooms were clean and comfortable, providing a cozy retreat after a day of enjoying the sun and surf. What truly sets this hostel apart is the array of activities they offer. It's a fantastic way to immerse yourself in the beauty and culture of Hawaii. The communal kitchen was well-equipped and kept tidy, allowing guests to prepare their meals and save a few dollars. Overall, this hostel was a delightful home away from home. I highly recommend it to any traveler looking for an authentic Hawaiian experience on a budget. I can't wait to return and create more unforgettable memories at this tropical oasis!

Really great place to stay! Prompt, detailed, and courteous communication with any questions I had during my stay - very helpful! Clear and easy check-in. VERY reasonable parking prices for spots right near the rooms - so helpful if you have a rental car in Waikiki - takes the stress out of finding parking or paying $50 somewhere. This alone should be a huge plus if you have a car! Within walking distance to lots of places - restaurants, Waikiki Beach, stores, etc. Laundry services were nice to have on site too (bring quarters with you). Clean, modern rooms. Cool little mini lanai outside the back of the room (at least on the ground floor rooms - not sure about the above floors). Nice rooftop area to enjoy morning coffee or a take-out dinner too. I'd definitely stay here again on a return trip to Honolulu! Mahalo for an awesome place!

This place is a great budget stay. Newly renovated and super clean suites with 2 queen beds and AC. The units are minimally furnished. It’s centrally located and multiple restaurants/bars in walking distance. The hostel has free to use snorkels, floats , beach chairs and mats. It was super useful. Kitchen: If you are planning to make meals in your trip ; the kitchen has 1 pot ,2 pans , coffee maker , stove top , fridge and oven. The silver ware was in bad shape, we bought our own. Also, the pans and forks smelled of eggs. Otherwise the very clean. Parking : Do yourself a favor by buying parking for $18/day. We couldn’t find any cheaper parking around Highly recommend this stay !

Had a great time staying here. It was clean, they responded to my requests quickly, and even gave recommendations on what to do nearby. The rooftop is chill and they have beach equipment that you can borrow. If I ever return to Oahu, this spot will be my #1 choice. Couldn't have asked for a better place to stay at for my vacation.

Amazing Hostel! Newly renevoted very well equipped rooms and bathrooms. The staff is absolutely the best! I felt welcomed all the time and everything was spotless. The rooftop was a great space to get away that included hammocks, tables and chairs. There are inexpensive group excursions everyday of the week and a ton of beach equipment to use for free! This is an ideal hostel for people looking for a still social but quiet hostel, was great as a solo traveler who wanted to have fun, but still have their own space. The hostel is very close to Metro, restaurants, and easy walking distance to all the main squares Downtown. I was very impressed the moment I met Zain, the property manager. He provided a great welcome and was extremely courteous. He gave a detailed guided tour of the hostel and helped with my bags and was able to answer all my questions and gave clear directions to reach transportation and attractions. Book this place ASAP you won't regret!

Great place to stay easy to check in and they had a camera monitored area I could leave my bags as I arrived early. Which was a relief. Yummy chocs from front desk and good comfortable room. Facilities were clean and tidy and air con worked well. Also free water equipment to take out if you are going on any of the tours/ to the beach. Great value tours available from this hostel everyday. Had a great stay. Thanks team.

We loved that hostel. We had our own room with bunk beds, where we could leave our stuff and lock the door after us. Then we had a kitchen space and bathroom, which we shared with two other private rooms. Everyone was super friendly, the location was great, just around the corner of a foodtruck park, a 10min walk to Waikiki beach and the shopping street. It was perfect, couldn't have asked for better.

Super convenient location on top of being economical compared to other Hawaiin prices. Zain and his team were always there to help facilitate any questions or concerns at any given time. Try the sushi restaurant which is around the corner while you stay here. The laundry area was a plus for us as we have kids who wanted to go to the beach every day. Wal mart and target are only a short drive away. Amazing memories made at this place. Will definitely be back when visiting Honolulu again!

Absolutely wonderful stay for our family (2 adults w/ a 7 month old) and au pair (20 years old). Room- We stayed in the one bedroom that also had a queen bed in the living area. Super clean and updated. The beds were super comfy. We loved that there was a stove, full size fridge, and microwave. It was cute but not cluttered with unneeded furniture. The bedroom had amazing AC and the living room had a fan which kept the temperature perfect! Service- They seemed to go above and beyond! They had fresh coffee each morning (and it was the good stuff!) There were hammocks and patios to hang out on and everything was in exceptional shape. They even offer beach items to use which was one of our absolute favorite perks. Location- It was close to Waikiki Brewing, the 7-11 (which has great food!), and 2 bars. It was extremely quiet besides an occasional fire truck or ambulance siren. It was very walkable to the beach. I would recommend the Hui car share that is within walking distance instead of renting a car. It felt very safe. It doesn't have a TV, but as long as that's not a deal breaker we would 100% recommend it.

Our one bedroom family suite was clean, safe, affordable and comfortably spacious for our family of four. The rooftop was amazing and the beach gear was free to use. The location is very convenient as well since almost all of Waikiki was either a walk or just a short Uber ride away. Great stay!

This is a great place for people who like to go out rather than rest indoor. About 10 mins walking distance to Waikiki. They provided a clean room and towels. Self-check in. Smooth communication is a big plus! Cheaper parking reservation $18/day, limited slots. There are a few public parking garage nearby as well. Only concern for light sleepers are city noise. Guess it’s common and can’t avoid if you live in downtown area.

AWESOME PRIVATE HOSTEL ROOMS. Honestly, it’s a converted apartment building with a bunch of 1br/1ba that serve as private hostel suites with 2 queen beds and great AC. All brand new inside and out, it feels modern despite being retrofitted. Little difficult to find the entrance in the alley, but having the 7/11 right next door was super convenient. Virtual front desk via text was super helpful and keyless entry was great since we didn’t have to carry keys around everywhere. The complimentary bag of ALOH coffee in the room was a nice touch that we enjoyed sipping while hanging on the rooftop. Also right next to 2 rad breakfast spots: Cream Pot and Brew & Foam

I recently had the pleasure of staying at this fabulous hostel during my vacation in Hawaii, and I must say it exceeded all my expectations. From the moment I arrived, the warm and friendly staff made me feel right at home. The location of the hostel is simply unbeatable. Nestled in the heart of Hawaii, located 15 minutes away from breathtaking views of the crystal-clear waters and pristine beaches. The accommodations were clean, comfortable, and thoughtfully designed. Despite being a hostel, the rooms were spacious and well-maintained. The beds were cozy, and the linens were fresh and clean. I appreciated the lockers provided for personal belongings, which added an extra layer of security. One of the highlights of my stay was the hostel's vibrant social atmosphere. The common areas were inviting and well-appointed, encouraging interaction among guests. I made new friends from all over the world while lounging in the communal spaces, sharing stories and experiences. The hostel staff went above and beyond to ensure that everyone had an unforgettable stay. They were incredibly knowledgeable about the local area and provided fantastic recommendations for activities, dining, and hidden gems off the beaten path. Their enthusiasm and genuine care for their guests truly made a difference. Furthermore, the hostel offered a variety of amenities to enhance the overall experience. The communal kitchen was well-equipped, allowing me to prepare my meals and save some money. The outdoor spaces, including a lovely garden and a terrace, provided relaxation and tranquility after a day of exploring. Last but not least, the value for money was exceptional. Considering the prime location, comfortable accommodations, and outstanding service, the rates were more than reasonable. I felt like I was getting an incredible deal for the quality of the experience. In conclusion, my stay at this hostel was an absolute delight. It's an oasis of comfort and community in the paradise that is Hawaii. Whether you're a solo traveler or a group of friends, I highly recommend this hostel for an unforgettable stay. I can't wait to return and create more incredible memories in this slice of heaven.

Great value hostel. I’ve heard from others that the ALOH hostels are some of the more social ones which is just what we were looking for. Zain and the rest of the staff are very friendly and kind. The complimentary coffee tastes great, and there is a new filtered water machine so you don’t have to go out of your way to buy water (which I always find myself doing on trips). My only complaint is that they use bar soap everywhere — which isn’t necessarily unclean but just would prefer liquid soap.

The hostel was fantastic! My husband and I were able to get our own private room with a bathroom. It was very clean with a microwave, plates and bowls, silverware and extra towels! There is an a/c unit in the bedroom that was able to keep the room nice and cool at night and had some extra blankets for when it got a little too chilly! The hostel is right next to a 7-Eleven which was really nice. It also has cheap parking but if it is full, there is a parking garage that is a 3 minute walk. You are SUPER close to the beach. Takes maybe 10-15 minute walk to the beach but it goes really fast you don't even notice the time. A great almost week long stay!

Henry C. here, just wanted to say Anton was an amazing host at the reception desk. After traveling for over 24hrs, his customer service was amazing. Overall experience with the staff was awesome. You also can NOT beat the location for the price point. Complementary coffee was great every morning (macadamia nut/vanilla blend). Would definitely recommend and be back.

The staff was amazing! Very friendly and helpful. A lot of nice tours offered by the hostel. The location is really good! And the hostel serves pretty much all you need. The free snorkeling gear, chairs etc. you can borrow is a really nice touch. Quiet hours was from 10 am - 10 pm which in our case was a bit early. A lot of the people were awake and walking around until 11 and the morning people are up early as well. But not an issue at all In general a really nice stay!

The hostel’s location is perfect for someone visiting Honolulu for just a few days. It’s the cleanest hostel I’ve ever been to, very modern and new furniture. And very kind and generous staff, they let us use their shower even after checking out. Highly recommend!

We were warmly welcomed and cared for at Honu Waikiki. The service cannot be faulted. The rooms are also modern, and it provides you with what you need for somewhere to sleep. However, considering the price I paid, this hostel was quite disappointing. The bathrooms had a build up of dirt and hair on the walls and floors. This was not cleaned for my entire stay and I doubt had been cleaned for a while. I also was very disappointed with the kitchen facilities. There were no bowls, plates, cups or cutlery - so we couldn’t make use of the kitchenette at all. I understand the cost of rent in Honolulu would be expensive; hence, the cost. Regardless, for the money I paid I would expect a lot more.
