Great times are upon us! The Starbucks at Ala Moana is still closed and a independent coffee shop opened nearby, serving better coffee. None of those high-calorie messes covered with whipped cream and unicorn glitter poop; this is more like a traditional European shop selling simple coffee, how it should be served. So happy this place opened, Hawaii is in need of a better coffee shop, and not one that only tries to copy Starbucks and roasts their coffee to charcoal. Bonus, they sell gelato!

Really nice coffee shop. The baristas are awesome and the cappuccino was perfect. Great addition to Ala Moana. The lanai was nice, too.

I loved Illy stores in Europe, and have preached their virtues to many friends. Finally, we have one here! It's a little different (a patio, not a store filled with beautiful coffee machines for sale), and the baristas don't wear neat uniforms and dazzle you with sheer skill... but it's still Illy. I love the coffee and gelato! Beware, it's as pricy here as in Europe. But it's good and stylish, and makes for a nice treat.

Tried to overcharge me for some drip coffee ($5 instead of $4) and then tried to charge me an extra $1.50 for the creamer as well. Never do business with this company. Employees are poorly trained and extremely rude. Rude customer service: on more than one occasion ignored me for a long time and then told me to go wait in a different line, where I couldn't see the gelato. Came by later and they were taking orders by the gelato.

We had a wonderful experience! After tasting the wonderful gelato we felt as if we were in Italy. The coffee was fantastic and the service was exceptional! Will be coming back soon!

The worst illy cafe I have been. Ordered an espresso and a coffee latte. Espresso was okay although lack of body. Coffee latte is a disaster, first they used a wrong mug, milk foam was foamed badly, over frothed with too much bubbles and too thick. What they served was not a coffee latte…

I was glad to get my coffee,. I needed a "pick me up" in the intense heat of all the shopping we were doing. But then the staff opened the gelato side I had not seen yet, had to have some of that! Wonderful.

Great service and good coffee! I tried the marrocchino caldo which I’ve never seen anywhere else. Can’t wait to try their gelato, especially the stracciatella

Greatest quality coffee on island by far! Try the iced coffees! Very much enjoyed these coffees in Europe and missed it.

Their pastries are delicious, but they need to do better to enclose them in a clean environment because of flies and other elements that are not good for you.

Mimi makes the best drinks! I love coming to this place to enjoy the gelato tempesta, you can specialize the way you like. The location is perfect, right in the middle of the mall, I love coming here to people watch, take a break from walking around shopping.

This kiosk is a coffee and gelato oasis that lets you recharge during your shopping trek at Ala Moana. Illy coffee gives me more of a caffeine jolt than most, and combining it with gelato (your choice of flavor!) for affogato makes for a decadent, eye-opening experience. Definitely my favorite affogato in Honolulu.

I tried all pastry at ILLY cafe stand Ala Moana and I'm not happy. It's rubbish. Don't spend your money here. The two waiters busy arguing with each other. I told him I'm gonna have everything siting. He absently serves pastry there but lives my icecream already melted by the cash machine and I have to beg him where is my icecream. It was already melting.
