So I'm just gonna say everything went right here. I stroll up and the three team members inside (one manager/owner and two workers) are discussing supply orders. The owner sees me and immediately stops everything and makes me the sole focus. All team members also checked their masks to make sure they were good. This was a phenomenal start. Good little bit of small talk. I place the standard order I judge all taco trucks by - a Carne asada burrito. He asks me if I'd like guacamole, which of course I do - and thank you for asking up front rather than making me interrupt you and ask if could be added. Payment was easy and contactless. Interaction super pleasant. Burrito didn't take terribly long to come up. It was a few minutes, enough so you knew it was fresh, but fast enough to show you are important. Team member then asks if I'd like hot sauce and the heat level. More points. I take my haul and go sit and unwrap it. Foil is taught at both ends making for a good holder that won't leak. Tortilla perfectly toasted to golden. I'm hyped. Flavor, excellent. Ingredients balanced all the way across, not too much of any one thing (check out the cross section pic). Hot sauce was flavorful and hot, not watered down. Given how well they executed the basics here (friendliness, speed, taste) on this staple, I'm confident ordering anything off the menu. It is a little pricey compared to a burrito on the mainland, but this isn't the mainland so it's right in line with what it should be for a fair value. Enjoy this place.

So I didn't want to right a semi-bad review for this place because the tacos are sooo good, but I feel the need to. I have picked up Thyda's on many occasions for me and my friends/co-workers. When I first started ordering, I noticed the guy who takes the orders and does the payment was really friendly to everyone but me. He wasn't rude to me, but I could tell the difference. I then noticed he would always look over to see how much everyone tipped on the payment device. The first option is like 15%. There's no wait staff or anything so I usually did custom and tipped $2 which I thought was plenty. I then decided to tip 15% on my next trip there. Lo and behold, the guy was so friendly to me! The next time I came, I did the same thing and tipped 15% and again, I got good vibes from him. The trip after, I went back down to $2 and it's like Mr. Unfriendly was back. My point is not to badmouth this place. The food is awesome. I just don't think we should be pressured into tipping 15% to 20% for just picking up tacos. I don't think we should be treated differently because of how we tip. I don't think anyone should be hovering over you when you are putting in your tip.

Small food truck with a big impact. They have tacos, burritos, quesadillas, rice bowls and more. Fresh ingredients always. And the team working is friendly and so helpful

THE BEST GRILLED BURRITO EVER. Even better than my own I make at home, and that is SAYING SOMETHING BIG!! Got the carne asada burrito with guacamole X2, it was absolute perfection, the crunchy outside made the textures wonderful, and definitely worth every single bite. Plus the salsas are actually spicy and flavorful!! 12/10 because they surpassed all my expectations and will definitely be back around.

Because I am so used to street tacos, $4.50 for one asada felt a bit pricier… but it totally worth it after all. We ordered: Two pollo, two carnitas. Two stake and one Barbacoa, and salsa / guacamole, side of bean n rice and two drinks was about $35. Their hot sauce is really hot (flavorful though). So I am glad we asked for mild one for our boy. None of tacos was greasy at all. Highly recommended. #tacotruck #tacotuesday #supoortlocal

The wait is definitely worth it, because the two burritos I ordered (Asada and Pollo) were AWESOME! In my opinion, the best Mexican street food in Hawaii. I just hope that they don’t get fancy and move away. Kakaako loves you.

Ok. This is for those hesitant to try somewhere new. I have passed hundreds of times but never stopped. The carnitas burrito is as good as everyone says. There is a wonderful spice profile that is present. The sauces were excellent as well. Owner was on site and she clearly takes pride in her food. Great find, and we'll be back to try more.

AMAZING. Best tacos I’ve had in long time. Thyda is a talented chef with warm vibes and dank sauces (salsa, medium, hot). Dope Kobe mural

BEST veggie tacos on the island. Well, I'm from mainland and these are the best tacos I've ever had. The food is so fresh. So clean. Makes sense why they have customers waiting before opening and consistent long lines.

At long last, the island has some truly excellent Mexican cuisine. Incredible cuisine! At least on par with some of my favorite hangouts in California, if not better. The experience of eating my carne asada burrito today was very emotional for me because every single flavor and texture was so perfectly executed. The salsa is also excellent; the whole experience transports me back to the Mexican taquerias in the mission, which is where I used to live.

We took chicken tacos and mulita. Both were delicious, they are quick to prepare it hot and serve. There's a small clean place to sit down and enjoy your meal. Nice food truck

Amazing street taco truck fixed location off Queen street near Whole Foods. Has Vegan jack fruit tacos, and a tasty assortment of street style Mex food. Good hot sauces. Small bench for seating, otherwise stand-up street style. Owners are super cool at TeeDahs. Enjoy!

Authentic Mexican street food. Carnitas and steak are amazing. Highly recommend

The barbacoa and Carne asada burritos are great! In going back to try the carnitas. They even have more choices. Their home-made salsas are very good. Parking is non-existent, but if you're shopping at Ward or Whole Foods, just walk across the street for a great lunch at Thyda's.

Got a few of their tacos and they tasted good. It gets busy during lunch hours so the wait can end up being as long as 20 minutes, which isn’t great for a food truck since that means you’ll be standing in the sun for that time. Food is on the pricier side.

Solid burrito. Definitely far above average for Hawaii. Burritos are on the smaller side and are priced on the higher end of street burrito prices ($15 burrito) I will be coming back

3 people working at the food truck. And I see another person working inside the kitchen/building. They get slammed during lunch time it’s very popular but you will have a very very long wait to get your food. It’s best to avoid the lunch rush hour. I had the steak tacos (good), carnitas (great), and barbacoa (great). The hot sauce: green is mild, red is medium, orange is hot. Unfortunately no horchata. It’s directly across from Whole Foods. I enjoyed getting tacos to go here and then getting a drink at Whole Foods and sit at the whole foods table to enjoy the tacos. After that get a delicious donut at holy grail next to Whole Foods. Great experience, very good tacos, but I will continue my search for the best Mexican food on the island.

Thyda’s is amazing! They prepare all the meats, pickle all the veggies and make all the salsas in their prep kitchen right next to the stand. Not only is the food delicious but Thyda and Majed are super lovely people. For anyone that needs a quality taco fix I always recommend Thyda’s!

Tacos were on point. I had the lengua, asada, and barbacoa, and all three were juicy and flavorful. I haven't had good tacos in a while, and this was a nice change. I will definitely return with others!

Yummy! A quick hop, skip, and a jump across the street and we're to Taco heaven. We loved how warm the staff was and the food is amazing. Order one of each you can't go wrong. We loved the Mulitas. It's a bit more expensive than most Taco stands but we'll worth it. The food and overall experience are unmatched.

Great on taco Tuesday for half price tacos! Otherwise it’s a bit expensive for the size as they are a kinda small. Tacos were yummy though. We tried all the flavours and they were all good!
