Cafe
Glace
on
Kalakaua
was
my
go-to
breakfast
and
dessert
place
while
staying
in
Waikiki
last
week!
We
loved
all
of
the
food
and
couldn't
wait
to
try
new
things
the
next
day.
Very
generous
serves
for
everything!
We
especially
liked
re-ordering
the
acai
bowl,
the
salami
and
pesto
crepe,
and
the
pineapple
muffin.
The
Nutella
crepe
was
so
decadent.
I
didn't
get
to
vacation
long
enough
to
order
everything
on
the
menu
that
I
wanted
to
try,
like
the
banana
flambe
crepe
(next
time!).
We
loved
the
location
(directly
under
our
hotel)
and
we
most
always
got
a
table
outside,
or
simply
walked
our
food
across
to
the
grassy
area
at
the
beach
a
few
more
steps
away.
At
night
we'd
come
here
for
ice
cream
(sometimes
in
place
of
dinner
if
we'd
had
a
really
late
lunch)
and
the
flavors
were
strong,
interesting
and
varied.
Our
favorites
were
probably
passionfruit
and
coconut,
and
I
loved
the
little
surfboard-shaped
paddle
for
the
spoon.
When
we
were
here
in
2019,
this
end
of
the
beach
was
sorely
lacking
in
good
breakfast
options.
They
really
needed
an
ice
cream
place
near
the
beach
too,
and
I'm
glad
Cafe
Glace
meets
both
those
needs!
The
servers
were
really
nice
too!
We
were
so
sad
to
leave
the
area.
Some
cons,
but
only
mentioning
them
because
I'd
love
for
this
cafe
to
improve
and
succeed
long
term:
-
Sometimes
food
service
was
slow,
as
the
food
prep
was
done
to
order
and
many
things
that
could
have
been
pre-sliced
were
being
chopped
by
hand,
so
things
would
be
backordered
(crepes
took
the
longest).
They
didn't
seem
understaffed,
just
maybe
inexperienced
and
a
little
inefficient,
so
more
processes
or
pre-work
could
be
implemented
to
easily
improve
there.
-
Coffee,
pastry,
and
ice
cream
were
quick
options.
Usually
a
long
line
out
the
door,
which
is
a
good
sign
of
popularity
but
not
a
good
option
if
you're
on
the
go
for
work
or
an
activity.
-
I
noticed
some
confusion
on
where
to
stand
in
line
to
place
an
order
vs
waiting
for
an
order.
It
can
get
crowded
and
sometimes
people
wait
outside
which
means
they
didn't
hear
their
name
being
called.
A
small
speaker
or
numbering
system
might
help,
but
maybe
this
won't
be
as
much
of
an
issue
when
the
busy
season
dies
down?
-
Sometimes
the
plexiglass
barrier
at
the
checkout
made
it
difficult
for
the
server
to
hear
our
order
and
we
had
to
repeat
words
multiple
times.
Since
we're
still
being
cautious
with
Covid,
I
can't
really
fault
them
for
that,
but
maybe
there's
a
solution
to
improve
the
acoustics?
(I
noticed
people
would
pull
down
their
masks
or
lean
around
the
glass
barrier
to
be
heard,
which
defeats
the
purpose).
Honestly,
the
cons
aren't
bad
enough
for
me
not
to
recommend
this
cafe
or
keep
going
back,
so
please
keep
doing
what
you're
doing
and
maybe
just
make
some
small
changes
here
and
there.
We
look
forward
to
a
return
trip!
