The residents of Hope Mills have waited several years after the dam broke and reconstruction efforts had challenges. The weight is now over. Hope Mills lake is back and even better!!! The facilities are family friendly. It's great for photography and it's just a beautiful place in general. There are kayak rentals as well, but it's just a nice simple way to enjoy the outdoors for the local community. Community. Thanks to everyone who put in a lot of hard work and dealt with a lot of political backlash. Your persistence and tenacity has paid off. Keep up the good work!

Drove over 35 minutes with our dog (who is a service dog) to go kayaking and the law guy working there told us that there were no animals allowed at the lake. Since when are animals not allowed at a lake to go kayaking? This is not a “pet friendly” lake yet the people who live on the lake have their animals in the water all the time. Will absolutely never be coming back or recommending this location to anyone.

Hope Mills lake was a childhood staple. Mr. T's held a lot of memories and continues to. Now, with the rebuilding the Dam it has turned out to be that same family friendly treasure.

A lovely place for a walk on a Sunday afternoon. Lots of nice people out enjoying the lake.

The lake is ok for swimming by the entrance to the park. Hardly any fish to speak of, but the local rent kayaks you can go you on.

Nice spot but I have to find a place that’s pet friendly, the hot dogs were great, it’s a beautiful place but not for families who have pets.
