What would you expect for 20 dollars of your income? When you ask for a shrimp and bbq platter you definitely expect a proportionate amount of each and to be cooked with effort and satisfaction in mind. What I received was anything but that. I'll focus on the shrimp portion as it was the lest desirable of the entire order. The shrimp was barely half the area for it and the breading was hardly even covering the shrimp and had more grease soaked in that your favorite tune station oil change stall. Part of eating out is out of convenience but there's an expectation of quality and it was not meet this time.

Their fried chicken tasted better than the other fried chicken restaurants in the area. Cole slaw & potato salad are way ~~~ too sweet, if they decreased the amount of the sugar on their side dish then that would taste like a side dish, - not dessert. The hush puppies were good.

The food and service were great. The only thing I don't like is snack meals because it costs more to get fries instead of hush puppies.

The staff is very kind and easy to talk to. They also worked in a timely fashion when I ordered my food. Very professional and sanitary.

The Brunswick stew and bbq was perfect. The fried chicken breast I got was not as fresh as it could have been. The hushpuppies were cold and undercooked. The coleslaw had such huge chunks of cabbage in it that I couldn't even chew it and asked for potato salad instead. I'm hoping this was just an off day as this location is usually very good. With the prices they charge at Smithfield's I expect everything to be hot and fresh.

Usually the food is delicious. Tonight the barbecue was lacking in flavor and the hushpuppies were placed directly on top of the barbecue, making them soggy. We threw them out.

This restaurant is clean with a classic diner atmosphere. It is handicap friendly with adequate handicap seating available. The restroom facilities are kept clean and sanitized. Smithfield's have been a local favorite in Hope Mills for decades with a refreshing break from traditional fast food burgers.
