A fantastic opportunity to get out and explore the city of Wiesbaden and the hidden gems it has to offer.... Today it was the art museum, with exhibits from Winston Roeth "Speed of light", it was well worth the visit and of course during the week this is not crowded. The viewing is Corona conform and the hygiene concept is well thought out and articulated. The exhibits from the Belle -Epoque era where very interesting too. Wheelchair accessible and a well sorted souvenir shop are also here.
Richtig gut! Kunst und Natur.
Great collection of art from different periods, specially from German artists. The natural history part is very well presented with many stuffed and replicas os animals. The mineral collection is impresive. The Art Deco exhibit is extremely good.
The muesum has one of the best collections of art nouveau prints, posters, vases, glassware, furniture, and architecture. ❤️
Museum Wiesbaden offers an impressive dual experience: Art collection (permanent): Spanning from 12th‑century Old Masters to contemporary art, with standout sections in Jugendstil (Art Nouveau, Neess collection), Classical Modernism (100+ works by Alexej von Jawlensky), and post‑1945 abstract and Fluxus art . Natural history (“Aesthetics of Nature”): Four themed rooms exploring form, color, movement, and time—featuring thousands of specimens, fossils, butterflies, birds, and interactive displays . Plus rotating special exhibitions connecting art, science, history, and culture.
I recently visited the Wiesbaden museum and was blown away by the amazing exhibits! The museum seamlessly blends natural science and art, offering something for everyone. Highlights included the stunning crab and lobster exhaust, fascinating furniture exhibit, and breathtaking art collection. The museum's modern facilities, friendly staff, and unique gift shop make it a must-visit destination for families, couples, and solo travelers. _Tip:_ Plan to spend at least two or three hours exploring to get the most out of your visit!
Very nice. Beautiful inside. Has a huge variety of things to see. Worth the visit for sure.
Very nice museum with huge collection of natural history, art of the nature, modern and classic paintings from old masters. Good collection of colourful insects, fishes and crabs........ There is an entry fee. Some Saturdays are free. Check before you visit for opening time and holidays. It is close to city center and train station.
Nice museum. Good for kids. Not much local history. Lots of nature exhibits
If you like art and history, it's a great place to visit. The museum is original as it gets.. already inside and it's designed is beautiful. Great friendly staff, especially Diane ☺️ who loves working there and her passion for art and knowledge you can see it. Different activities and Künstler/artist shows and Theme are always up to date. So it will not get bored.
My visit here was really great, the museum is very large and I ran out of time to explore! I like the way the collection is exhibited and the diversity of it. The building layout is a total maze, picking up a floorplan at the front desk is a must. Even still I managed to get lost! The people working here are very nice too, they let me store my longboard in an office because it did not fit a locker.
Great little museum. Lots of different exhibits for everyone and one of the best cafes I’ve visted at a museum.
Great art collection especially German expressionists! Jawlensky especially and Kirchner, Nolde, Werefkind, loads more. Nicely presented over 3 floors and informatively explained. There's loads more like the brilliantly blackly comic installation The Red Wagon mocks the illusory promises of Soviet communism in the form of a kind of parked-up fairground caravan/attraction. And the art nouveau/jugendstil offering is spectacular from glass to furniture to clocks to artworks including the famous Ophelia. You'll spend at least two hours and that's without the natural history sections. Museum has decent shop plus café. About 10 mins walk from Wiesbaden main station.
Great place - hidden gem for Wiesbaden! With the current and constant art nouveau exhibition is the most complete collection for this period I have seen - striking! Be aware to get all in full and good depth - one need at least one day!!! It is not usual district museum - it is world class!
I loved it dearly but it's not for English speakers I guess. All of the posters and some exponants didn't have English translation, even tho there were German ones... I took out my phone to translate and with Google translate and guard got mad... I would recomend it because it was one of the most meaningful and beautiful museum in the city. You need to dedicate at least 2-3 hours . If you are an artist , it is a heaven.
An extremely diverse museum! Ranging from animals, nature, and physics, to jugendstil and expressionism! It even had some contemporary art, and paid tribute to female artists. At the time of visiting there was a great exposition on bees going on. Combining history and art to give a full experience to all audiences.
Wow!! Whoever is running their T. Swift campaign deserves a raise. The little details make the whole experience so special!! The museum was so much larger than we expected too. Although we went for Ophelia, we were blown away by the rest of the museum. Def a must see!!
Nice museum with interesting art. Very inspiring and with interesting installations. Very fitting atmosphere and beautiful scenery. Time flew really fast in here.
It is the most beautiful museum I have ever visited. It has so much educational and a little historical information. We had a great time with my family. I'm looking forward to going there again for there is so much still to see.
A must-visit in Wiesbaden! Museum Wiesbaden is a unique and inspiring place that beautifully combines art and natural history under one roof. Everything is well-organized, informative, and even interactive in parts. Perfect for families, art lovers, or anyone curious about the world. Definitely worth a visit when you’re in Wiesbaden!
Lovely museum with a combination of art and science. Currently highlighting Fate of Ophelia, but contains many gorgeous pieces of various mediums. Quiet café located within.
Ja, super interessante Aufstellungen. An den Wochenenden April 2025 kostenlos
Museum fit for family. Modern, classic art and nature.
Amazing museum that we stumbled on a first Saturday of the month (free entrance😍)! Diverse range of exhibitions and not too crowded at any one point of time. A must see is the fate of Orphelia exhibition. 💯 recommended.
Ein tolles Museum mit sehenswerten Austellungen. Im gesamten Haus liegen Klemmbretter und Stifte aus, die zum Zeichnen einladen.
Lots of stuff to see. It was very informative and kids friendly :)
Wonderful museum with so much to see. Went specifically to see the Ophelia painting, but thoroughly enjoyed all the other art pieces.
Its a easy walk through so you can see everything. Nice to spend 1-2 hours looking around.
The building is absolutely wonderful, as well as the exhibitions. Highly recommend to see the Art Nouveau section with its canvas and period furniture. The museum also hosts an exposition of Wiesbaden's famous resident, Alexey von Jawlensky.
