you
should
visit
if
you
are
in
Horten,
and
interrested
in
either:
1)
Norwegian
navy-history
and
how
the
half-island
was
used
as
part
of
Norway's
navy
defence
during
WW2
and
the
Cold
War
(and
probably
some
other
wars/events)
2)
If
just
want
to
enjoy
a
walk
along
the
coastline
that
goes
along
the
east-side
of
the
half-island
while
passing
reminants
of
old
navy
artillery
foundations
3)
Just
want
to
relax
on
one
of
the
three
beaches.
-You
can
also
find
the
city
church
somewhat
in
the
middel
of
the
half-island,
in
the
same
area
as
the
Norwegian
navy
museum.
-The
museum
has
amongst
other
things
an
old
submarine
you
can
climb
inside
off.
-The
soutmost
part
of
the
half-island
has
a
very
nice
and
"cozy"
forest
area
which
takes
you
out
to
a
park
area,
with
a
sheltered
view
of
the
Oslo
fjord.
There
are
at
least
3
public
toilet
areas
around
the
half-island,
one
at
the
museum,
one
at
the
beach
near
the
"Tivoli"
hill
(almost
at
the
end
of
it,
close
to
a
forest
area)
and
one
by
the
park
area
at
the
southmost
part
of
the
half-island.
