A very good restaurant. The decor inside is lovely and tasteful and the tables aren’t too cramped in. I ordered the duck with oriental noodles which I have to be honest, was the best duck dish I have ever tasted. Simply devine and not too expensive at 18.50. Everyone else enjoyed their meals too plus the house red wine was fantastic. Can’t wait to return

Visited on a completely spontaneous date night, we live over 20 miles away and chose a small restaurant at random, we are so glad we came here and will probably make the trip again. In all honesty we felt the area wasn't the best as we parked the car, but once inside the restaurant we had an amazing evening. Food was brilliant, we ordered from the market menu which was an absolute bargain for what we got! From what we overheard on tables nearby, most people were returning customers and it's not difficult to see why. The waiting staff were so friendly and attentive, we were more than happy to leave a generous tip. We were not rushed at all, and had the perfect amount of time between each course to enjoy our evening. Our favourite dishes were the goat's cheese starter and the braised lamb, though everything was lovely. Veg was seasoned perfectly. Spot on.

Went with my partner Friday and i will 100% be returning! Owners have done a great job internally from what is was prior, but the food was stunning!! You will pay a little more than other local places, but it is worth it, stunning! Thanks!

Our first visit , food was lovely, my partner had crab ravioli, delicious. Pate was yum . Mains were also very good . We will definitely be going back . Quite generous portions too . The staff are lovely and it was really nice to meet Nick himself.

BEST RESTAURANT AROUND in my view particularly for fish specials and Oysters. Went to Nicks many years ago when it was at Chequerbent and it was excellent then, first time I tried Oysters. A memorable dining experience obviously as recently visited again for my son's birthday at their place in Horwich. We went specifically for Oysters and fish. The experience was fabulous and it lived up to my previous expectations. I can honestly say I cannot fault this place. It was better than James Martin's in Manchester and similarly priced. Now I feel I'm betraying my favourite chef James Martin, but I have to be honest. That said, the bread served at JM was the best I've ever tasted. Nicks was busy, even for a Wednesday evening. Tables full. Atmosphere was almost wedding reception-like, intimate and friendly. Staff were attentive and welcoming. Decor was relaxing and zen - think Kelly Hoppen neutral ambience. Cannot wait to go back. Very affordable 2/3 course menu priced at £25/£30 respectively with no concessions on taste, quality or service. Even the house white wine was fantastic. The only question I ask myself is "why I've not been back sooner?!" There's magic sprinkled all over that place! ✨ 🥂🍽 🎩 🪄 Ps: I am absolutely not benefitting from this review...it's completely bona fide.

How have I not already reviewed this place!? I've been coming to Nick's restaurant for years. It is by far the best dining experience in Bolton. Mouth watering food, lovely friendly staff, nice ambiance... it's got it all. It is in the middle of an urban area and doesn't have it's own car park, but there's always plenty of nearby street parking. It's also not the cheapest place, but you get what you pay for. You will eat like royalty and leave with a full stomach, guaranteed. It is worth every penny. Plus, they often have a market menu which can make a great saving. Seriously, this place is wonderful. I will go back time and time again.

We went here for a works Christmas meal. The place was very busy but the staff weren't put off by this and were excellent. The food was superb and the portions were HUGE! Be warned. All in all, a very enjoyable evening and I look forward to going there again

This restaurant is SOOOOO good! Absolutely beautiful food and classy decor and friendly staff. My starter (goats cheese, honey and crispy bacon) was the best starter I think I've ever had!

We had a fantastic evening at Nick's New Restaurant at Horwich. Great food and service as always at Nicks and now in a beautifully newly decorated Restaurant area and with the Bar up stairs to relax in a safe environment before or after having dinner down stairs. We Wish Nick all the best with this new much bigger restaurant and look forward to many more grate evenings to come.

I could not rate this place any higher if I tried, simply AMAZING! As a family we have visited quite a few times and we have never experienced poor food or poor service. We visited recently and a family member informed the staff that we were there for a special occasion. The staff went more than above and beyond for us and we are so grateful. This is definitely the best restaurant in the area and I wouldn't choose to eat anywhere else. Thank you!

I was there with family last night. Lovely restaurant with a great team. My family had stunning food. As a vegetarian the options were limited so I was very disappointed. That's the only reason for 4 stars. If there were a few more veggie options it would definitely 5 stars.

Nipped in last Friday off the cuff.. What a little gem of a place.. I had the sea bream with asparagus and potatoes.. Amazing a taste sensation exploding in my mouth. 110% going back

Fantastic restaurant right on our door step! We had a lovely meal at Nick's. It was our first visit and certainly won't be our last! The menu had lots to choose from, including a specials board and a wonderful selection of local and international dishes. All cooked to perfection I might add. The portion sizes are enough to feed the hungriest of bellies! The staff were polite, friendly and attentive. The atmosphere was great and Nick came out at the end asked us if we had all enjoyed. I would highly recommend this wonderful restaurant.

Fantastic food, excellent service and reasonably priced. Certainly good value for money. The mussels were amazing and the best steak I've had in a while. Can't wait to go again

The food was outstanding, decent portions made the experience good value for money. The sirloin steak was good quality, Fish a Chips were on point, Duck Noodles huge portion, and my Rack of Lamb was great with the fat rendered to perfection. Lot’s of staff, who could have been a little more attentive, as it was pretty quiet but on the whole a welcoming and efficient service. We’ll definitely be back, good job everyone.

Came before the p!nk concert for prinks, had cocktails and tapas and it was all amazing and the staff couldn't of done anymore, will deffo be back

Been to the Chorley old Rd one many times over the years 1st time at the new place and not disappointed. Food was excellent. Service great. Not a bad word to be said.

Fab food, seafood chowder absolutey full of flavour, filet steak as tender as I've had anywhere and the lamb rack looked, and I am told was, delicious! It was really busy and staff run off thrir feet, but they coped. Defo go again and recommended!

10/10 couldn’t fault a single thing. Amazing food and brilliant, attentive staff. We have just moved to Bolton and been searching for a hidden gem and we have definitely found it with Nicks. Can’t wait to come back!

Excellent food , friendly staff

Four of us went for a meal last night at Nicks in Horwich, the service and food was fantastic. The special seafood chowder was amazing and very fresh , the porter house steak that 2 of us shared was sooo good and plenty to go around with delicious accompanying sauces. A fantastic venue with great service and food, what more could you ask for, we will definitely be returning.

What a lovely restaurant. We had a delicious lunch. Everyone was friendly and helpful and we really enjoyed the food. I had seafood chowder to start, followed by a paella and a rhubarb crumble for dessert - all gluten-free (coeliac-friendly). There is a great choice of fish and seafood and also other types of dishes. Highly recommended. Well-behaved dogs are allowed at the outside tables.

Had a great Valentines dinner at the ‘new’ Nicks restaurant last night. First time at the new place and what a difference! Much more room, very open and upstairs for after dinner drinks as well. The food was delicious; Dana had the mussels and chorizo in an amazing sauce, I had the scampi, which was fresh and very tasty. Then had the monkfish wrapped in Parma ham with crispy rice. Was great! Dana had the rib-eye which was a fair old size and beautifully cooked. The veggies and roasters were, as ever just right. The service was spot on as usual. Great to see Nicks busy as ever and congratulations to him and all his staff!

Amazing food and really really lovely helpful staff! I've ever been to Nick's before but will definitely be going again. The food was absolutely delicious and the staff couldn't have been more welcoming and attentive. The lamb was so succulent it fell apart on the fork and my wife loved the hake. Portions were really generous and left very full and happy.

Good selection of food. Excellent service. Staff very friendly and helpful. Lovely decor and comfortable seating. Very clean. No car park, so you have to park on the main road, which is very busy or down a side street

Somewhat disappointed. Been a few times to the old Nicks and the food was always excellent. First time at the new nicks. The menu has changed a lot. There's a large choice now. Feels like this has reduced the quality. There were six of us and every one of us was disappointed with the quality of the meals. Lacking taste and finish. I had chicken livers followed by sirloin steak which was overcooked. The chicken livers were average. One thing I need to say is the decor and the feel on the room was really strange. It felt sterile and bland. It had a weird atmosphere because of that.

Was disappointed the lighting was too bright it hurt your eyes . Very squashed tables were too close together. People very noisey, staff coming and going all the time. No car park have to find spot if lucky at front or down side street half on pavement . Won't be going again .
