Nice ancient temple, well maintained and best place for a short picnic. The temple is situated on a small hillock and there is a road leading to the top of the hill. Temple has ample parking space and well maintained. You can either drive to the temple or there is a stairs from the base of the hill. There is a small cave temple as well in the middle of the stairways and it is a must see. Overall we enjoyed the drive from Bangalore and spent about an hour going around.

The temple sits atop a hill from where one can get beautiful Ariel view of the city. The beautiful mountain ranges are clearly visible from the sides. The temple is very rustic and gives a glimpse of the past in its stone architecture which is mesmerizing to the tourists. The campus offers a lot of peace and calm and it's a must visit! Chandra Choodeshwarar (Lord Siva) temple is one of the top defining landmarks of Hosur . Atop one of the highest hills of Hosur, it can be seen to the left side of the National Highway on the way from Krishnagiri towards Hosur . This temple sits on the same longitude as the Sri Venkata Ramana Swamy temple (Lord Vishnu) and Lord Brahma in Hosur. View from top of Chandra Choodeshwarar is phenomenal . Eagles eye view of the old city and the markets along with the lakes. You can take the car to the top and use the 20 Rs parking lot. Do not miss the Tamarind rice and Ladoo u can buy for Rs. 20 each at the top after u exit the temple. Plenty of space for the children to run around and have fun also.

Temple was good. Nice ambience. You can see the city view. Either you can go by steps or by vehicle directly to the temple. Parking is on slope so be careful if heavy winds. During festival might be crowded as I went on normal weekend there was no much crowd. New gopuram is in construction hopefully expected to be inaugurated in July-August.

The Temple is said to be a powerful one. Scenic place in the evening. The major thing we felt is about the cleanliness around the place. This area needs to be addressed by the temple authorities. Needs to employ someone to clean up the surroundings and to prevent people from littering the place! There's a raised platform as view point which is closed. If this is opened and managed by a person, it will be really great for those who visit the temple.

The best temple in Hosur. You can see this temple on the hilltop while travelling on the National Highway. At night the gopuram is lit up and gives a great look. It is just around 1.5 km from the National Highway and you can easily visit here. The road leading up to here is a gentle slope. You can park on the way there or park on the top. There are stairs on the side where you can directly reach the temple. The temple is very clean and has neatly kept lawns. This temple has Blackstone pillars and is over 800 years ago. This is a temple dedicated to Lord Shiva. Surely a must visit for a weekend.

Nice and very old temple. They have renovated gopura. An ample amount of parking is available. But it will be crowded soon. I visited around 4 pm on Sunday. I got parking. But while returning it was very much packed. Most of the people visit to see the sunset. Not sure , what was there during my visit. But I was waiting around an hour.

Visited the place after many years and enjoyed the location (dad's native). The temple was closed from 12:15 pm to 4:30 pm. Could not have darshan of the deity. However, a lot of development is to be seen and I am sure that the temple will be even more beautiful when I visit the next time.

Most underrated temple in Tamilnadu as I can say.. Such a beautifu and peacefull temple with rock architecture... As per the locals, this is 1000 years old temple which built by cholas, Recently they started constructing the Ghopura. U gonna feel it as Varanasi by seeing the lord Siva.. There are 2 more places near the temple.. Vishnu and bhramha temples. This is the only place where BHRMA VISHNU MAHESWAR temples are nearby..

Divine and peaceful. You just need to just enter the temple and you'll feel the positive energy. The temple is more than 1000 years old. Many dynasties like the Cholas, Hoysalas and Vijayanagara, who ruled the South kept on adding to its architecture and now it stands proudly on this hill in Hosur. Hosur railway station is exactly 3 km from the temple and the town around it is well maintained. There are pure-veg restaurants around the place. Travel to this place on weekdays for a moderate crowd.

An ancient temple , dating from the times of Ganga Dynasty , which has been renovated many times since then . There are major contributions from Cholas . It is a very beautiful and spacious temple with lovely sculptures in the prakaras . But photography is strictly prohibited inside . Many utsavas and pujas take place regularly and it is very popular among pilgrims from Karnataka, Tamil Nadu and Andhra . It is situated upon a small hill and can be reached both via steps and by a motorable road . Inspite of renovations , the surroundings are not kept clean . It is very disheartening to see the garbage piled up near the small Ganesha shrine and the mess created around the Lingam (behind the Gangadhara shrine) on which devotees pour milk and water. The Government has put up a helpful signboard in front of the gopuram , about the other places of interest in Hosur.

Place is spic and span! The gopuram is a new addition and has added additional beauty to this place! I was going back to Bengaluru after a ride and saw this temple on the left side - took a detour and visited this place. It is a short stretch to the top! Enough and more parking is available around the temple. It is well organised and you have access to all what you need. Weather was beautiful as such I could walk all around the temple and took some rest overlooking the city. If you are in these parts - it is a must visit place for sure 😍

Parched on a hilltop you can easily see hosur city from a bird's eye view also the temple is very old built sometime in the 1100s and the architecture is superb, the inner sanctum is quite small accomodating only 15-20 people and it can get quite cramped inside

Oldest temple in Hosur dates back to 12th century. Even though it is Lord Siva temple you can see almost all the gods here. This temple is located on a small hill and can be reached by road or steps. It has ample parking.

No words to explain about this temple's architecture and infrastructure, it's an amazing place to feel yourself and peace. I am mesmerized once I enter the temple. I felt so so happy and peace of mind. The pillars inside are so cool and give you great feelings. The floor is also very chill and when you sit there you'll feel something different like joy. God is way more than anything, he is great blessings to you and your family. Outside of the temple also amazing view, you can see full top view of Hosur. Totally I was blessed to visit this place.
