One guy name james he look 50,he is so rude.i was doing my sets and was struggling with the weight and obviously I'll make some noise but I was Abit too loud then he ask me to quite down when I was half way doing and I wasted my energy to stop my set and talk to him.i also witnessed that he shouts at secondary school kids cause they were seating on the floor as they look like they are new to this gym and obviously they had only started working out.

On 26/11 around morning I forgot the timing.i saw James digging his nose proceeds to touch the gym equipments .he also can't mind his own business like imagine you're working people just disturb you won't you find it annoying?and I couldn't even focus when I was doing my sets.i have more complaints on James but I dont want to talk about it . lastly I would like the management to fire James as I don't accept this,I have also seen the reviews .

I have just started gyming a d my house is near to hougang gym.before I started gyming I went to see the review then i saw this guy name james a countless time in the review "bad review" that he is very rude and disgusting so when I went to the gym for 2-3 times I witnessed him being so rude to ppl age 15-20 plus and also once I saw him humiliating a women Infront of everyone cause she left her water bottle at the threadmill and instead of trying to talk to her nicely he was being extremely rude and I would like those who are in charge to fired him as I don't tolerate this kind of behavior in the gym as James is a mature guy at his age and not a kid being extremely rude.

Went into the gym on 22/5/23 3.30pm. My towel was ALWAYS with me all along while I was using the equipments. Before I leave the gym, I always likes to end my workout session with walking on treadmill. The staff who was wearing bright green shirt, who I think is in his mid 50s, approached me and SCOLDED me rudely in front of everyone just because I didn't bring a towel along(I left it with my belongings). I understand it was my fault. But he could've talk nicely, that's fine. But there's more. He spoke some students who might made the same mistakes in the same rude manner which is unacceptable for a customer facing staff. Would have ask for his name and posted it here. Kindly advise management to look into this matter as it is not appropriate to go around and scold customers like that. Please don't work in customer services if you're going to be such a rude person.

JAN 13, 2023 @ 6:45PM I have been visiting the gym occasionally for the past 2 decades, a little less frequently as I have moved. There's this medium build, 165cm-ish fair gym "master" in his late 50s whom I always thought was "harmless and friendly" (we exchanged awkward smiles and greetings over the years) but turned out to be a bully or at least an arrogant individual. Yup, I shouldn't have brought the 10KG dumbbells out of the free weights area (I wasn't even aware I was not allowed to, had done that on a couple of occasions and always ensured I was tucked away at a corner) but you didn't have to accuse me of "hitting" you with the weights just cos you chose to make a scene by DELIBERATELY WALKING right into me. Imagine: A stationary vehicle, random pedestrian, walking into the car, claim he/she had been hit. First and foremost, as far as I know, I didn't hit you nor did the weights touched you; That's a seriously grave accusation. Secondly, instead of hounding me by accusing me of hitting you, you could have just went straight to the point "Bro, weights are not allowed here". I'm sure I would have complied since we're like acquainted and "friendly". Thirdly, I didn't bother arguing or gave any reason for not "complying" to the gym rules as I didn't even know what went wrong when you stood in front of me and had to "guess" your intention but you didn't need to nag nor spoke harshly towards me like I am some sort of delinquent. Thanks for the unfriendly experience. Thumbs down guys, thumbs down.

Visit here regularly for dance sessions - dance studio have big mirrors. Good location. Sufficient public parking. Water cooler, vending machines very accessible near main entrance. Toilet is fairly well maintained, also easy access from ground level. Big hall for sports. Just beside there is a public swimming pool. 😊👍🏻

Conveniently located in the neighbourhood hartland few bus stops from Hougang Mall MRT station and bus interchange with plenty of dinning shopping banking library postage community centre supermarkets cinemas entertainment and amenities. Friendly cosy comfy welcoming ambience for romantic intimates groups students tourists expats locals visitors and families..

On 14 April 2021 at 1.00 pm. I had visited the gym at this Sports Centre. The staff in duty had shown total disregard to the users but was constantly engaged in a private conversation with another person at the top of his voice. It caused annoyance and disturbance to other users. It was not the first time but the staff had acted unreasonably without any checks or inspection by his superiors to correct the said staff 's conduct in question. This is a badly managed sports centre.

Have almost complete set of equipment for body builders to workout. So far is the best ActiveSG gym I have visited. That would be better if they allowed to take shower within the 20min gap before next gym slot. Then we can more time to workout.

Came here for gym session. After revamp, the flooring and equipment and overall feel looks really nice and has a nice ambient. But toilet and shower facilities remains the same (no complains on that though). Has most equipment that you need if you do weights training! But just really crowded at times

Not too shabby for a neighborhood gym. The place is clean and well maintained. There's a good range of equipment, all in good working order. The only shortfall is the place only has one squat rack, which I had to wait in line for. Otherwise, they have a good system going, and the staff are accomodating. Definitely will come back.

I always gymed at Hougang Activesg and i would always bring my towel to every machine. One day i was doing the smith machine and after my set i put my towel on the floor then some green coloured shirt admin in his mid 40s approached me and ask where is my towel in a rude manner. He didnt even checked his surroundings properly to see that i placed it on the floor because i was done with my set. He was very rude and aggresive and i jst wanted to write this review to share my story. ( Btw I got to know from my friend that his name was James)

The gym here is well equipped with free weights, squat rack (only one) and usual machines. It was very crowded on a Sunday afternoon. There are queues in front of several exercise stations. Similar to the ActiveSG gym in Toa Payoh (TP), all the bar bells are 2-3x over-subscribed (triple sharing). But the space here is a quarter of TP and borders on being unsafe at peak offices. On the way, I passed three dance studios that were empty and locked up. 🤷‍♂️

HOW PATHETIC! Saw a really rude and dishevelled looking gym staff member today, apparently after asking the other gym staff, his name is James. He dresses so untidy and acts as though we owe him a great deal for using the gym! He shouted at me and my wife as we were talking to each other about something personal, and asked us to, i quote: "QUIT TALKING, GO WORKOUT LAH!! TODAY GOT SO MANY PEOPLE, CAN YOU FASTER WORKOUT???" Really 1/10 customer service, and i've also seen him shouting at other secondary school kids for gathering in one spot. Are they supposed to scatter about the gym? Shout across the gym to communicate with each other? What's the matter with him? Kindly do look into this matter, i believe he needs to be sent for a training course for further skills development.

I was recently at Hougang ActiveSG gym the other day where midway through my set I was repeatedly disturbed by a staff member , who kept asking where was my towel midway through my set which was extremely annoying. He then telling me that I needed to leave as a did not have a towel. I was extremely irritated and showed him that my towel was nearby and that I did Indeed have one. He then walked away without apologising for falsely accusing me. I think that this behaviour is extremely unfitting for one of the staff member of this gym. I later learned that his name was James and hope that other gymgoers will not share the same experience I did.

Fairly convenient venue for sports activities and courses.

Often crowded and not all machines are available. Still very accessible and convenient however, depending on your needs

Nice environment and not crowded compared to the newer sports complex.

No one informed me that the starting date of my pilates class has been postponed till next week. I only realised it when I was at the dance studio. Wasted my time and money. Poor service!
